StatementOn September 15th, the old ZERO will fork to add block halving and dev fees. This means that a % of the Zero block reward, will go straight into the devs wallets. We've decided to NOT SUPPORT THIS UPDATE and continue maintaining the old fashioned Zero like it should be. Free, open source, without any fee, with no halving. This is why ZERO Classic (ZERC) is born.
What should I do if I already own some ZERO [ZER] coins?Zero will then have two chains:
- MAIN CHAIN --> the one for users who will update their wallet and support dev fees
- OUR OLD FASHIONED CHAIN --> for peoples staying strong on the first chain
Coins existing on the initial chain, before 15th of September, will continue to exists in both chains. Then, every fork will continue on his own. Even your receiving adresses will stay the same. (Private/Trasparent). This is called a soft fork because it doesn't acutally change the consensus of the first Zero blockchain. If you have ZERO before 15th inside your wallet, you'll have ZERC the same way. (Coins doubled)
How to install/update the daemonWarning: it's suggested to install the new daemon on another machine. Zero and Zerc can't coexist on the same system without a consistent code change.For users syncing from scratch, just fire up your wallet using those nodes inside your conf. (Please refer to the installation/compilation guide on GitHub README.md)
