I have been reading many reports in the press that (Bitcoin) Cryptocurrency is dead, does anyone have any ideas why we are witnessing such a crash as is currently taking place, I feel the banks are doing all they can to unsettle prospective users of bitcoin so they retain the monopoly. I am now seeing twitter alive with people giving away coins etc, what are you doing with yours?

I think we should still hold our altcoins. In any market there is a collapse and the stock market is now equally bad. When our market loses $ 500 billion, the stock market definitely loses over $ 5000 billion. So we should not be so worried about this down. Work hard and a good thing will come.

If btc is dead,so why you and me talking here about that.I agree that btc is passing a very hard time but it doesn't mean that it's life is in the bottom. In the case of holding or selling,I must hold my coins for the future bubbles.

Naturally, Bitcoin will live for many dozens of years. Probably, it will be used even for centuries. I agree that shitcoins will be crushed but good tokens will survive.

Almost a year the market crashes and there is no sign to recover, of course this makes many investors anxious so many choose cut loss rather than wait, and for me to wait until the end of the year is the thing that will answer for hold or cut loss.

I holding on cryptocurrency, what did banks do to interfere with crypto users? I haven't heard this kind of news. Crypto market is very bad, here a lot of coins that are stuck even more likely to decline, I think crypto hasn't marked a death or a crash anymore, because I think if crypto crashes again and the price drops so far the user will really lose the trust in cryptocurrency.

For many times, news and rumors killed cryptocurrency but it still exists. It just happens that it's now in a bear that others or not in crypto think its over.

I will never sell my coins in loss because in fundamental all my coins has potential to going up to the highest price again. I know there are any periode for bearish and bullish, both situation is always changed and we will loss alot of money if we miss another bull market.

The crypto market is always exciting for us and the diminishing in the currency is still going on. So stable psychology will be the key to successful transactions.

I think all people agree with and they will hold their coins until the price increase except they need money for an urgent need. It is not recommended to sell any coin when the price is down even for the cut loss because we don't know if the price jumps to the low price or not. And if the down of the price is only a correction before it increases higher, then we might lose a big chance to sell at a higher price. I have seen this is happening in the past and I think it will happen again in the future, so I guess to hold the coin is better than to sell at a loss.

It's game over. There's no way that confidence and prices will recover after the huge losses of 2018. There are also too many shitcoins with no real purpose apart from scam ICOs and to confuse investors. Even though the Etheruem blockchain has its uses, the ETH token has no purpose or future and will go to zero next year. By the end of 2019, only BTC and only a handful of others (eg. XRP and XLM) will survive. I'm only holding BTC now and sold the rest before the latest crash.

Hello! There have always been such messages in the press. Not surprising. And why is there so much hype that bitcoin ends? As for last year, everything is now very good. Those who entered the market in the winter were a little unlucky. In general everything is good. HODL!!!

Altcoins and bitcoin price going down not mean it's crash it Means you can buy and hold it this is normal for us in bitcoin's being expensive so start trading until you get profit right now.
Who says that crypto is collapsing or has crashed? We do not know anything about its future market but we can say that it will have a great future because if you have ever noticed that least value of Bitcoin then you will also accept it. The current lowest price is far better than the previous lowest prices backwards. The current value is 6384 US dollar and is still low but this has proven again that value of Bitcoin follows uptrend averagely with the passage of time.

no one dies, crypto doesn't die. especially bitcoin. have you seen the price chart from the beginning of bitcoin accepted for transactions? and compare it to the current price. then with coins shared on twitter, you call crypto dead. I think you need to learn more about crypto. Price crashes are currently only to meet pattern support. where every price communication is on the candle.
The price of cryptocurrency is dropping, but it never says that its dying. People should understand the price trend so they will not panic whenever they see a dump trend. Bitcoin will not die of course, only shitcoins will die but never a great one.
The price of cryptocurrency has dropped and it is time to start picking the dropped pieces gradually. Crash in crypto world is most common as per what we have seen in 2014 and now in 2018. But the years 2013 and 2017 have proved that making use of every dip will not disappoint anyone.

A bear market is not the problem, I would say people are the problem and that is simply because the market is extremely speculative which is the reason why it is always pretty easy for the whales to have a better chance as most people in the market are just looking for quick gains and they have no understanding of what the market is like or how it operates and in a little correction like this, they assume it to be a crash, chicken out, market recovers and they come back joining FOMO again. That is pretty dumb if I have to say!
Cryptocurrency is the future currency and we should realize that. In my opinion all other currencies will die and will disappear from the market but cryptocurrency especially bitcoin will be there and will take over the currency market. People will use just bitcoin as their regular and local currency. The world is already global village, now it will become global market.

Cryptocurrency does posed the potentials to the future of currency but I disagree with you concerning what you said about every other crypto currency to disappear and bitcoin to be the only crypto because bitcoin is currency and it meant for payment, exchange of value etc. While some altcoin were used for dapps, smart contracts etc and Satoshi himself virtualized the future of cryptocurrency he know bitcoin cannot do it alone which is why he make the source code openly and left the job in the hand of the communities.
Concerning the OP saying about crypto currency crashing is not a genuine news.
Beware!

The way I see it, cryptocurrency crash isn't happening. The trend we're seeing right now is slow but at least somewhat normal and steady. These are both good for the progression of the market.

Yeah,  agree with you buddy.
The crashing value of altcoins and even bitcoin is not an indication will all crashing.  It is normally happen to any form either digital or real stock exchange. We never afraid and never listen of what other people have saying (FUDs) cause they are the one who get benefit from then.

For those who have just entered in the cryptoworld without even asking themselves if what they might be going through, then you should've known from the start that cryptos can really crash so bad, causing your investment to collapse. That's how risky crypto investment is and you should always be ready to take the risks.

Newbies never stop from panicking. If you think about it, the price is at it's average and fair state... the noobs think this is crash because they have entered during ATH last December. I took this positively as we all know that the cryptocurrencies have already crawled over the mainstream and people have decided whether to patronize it or not - and hell yeah, that probably what causes the price to be at this level.

Little you realize that as soon as it reaches it's stable price, it could become a mainstream currency for all.

Crash may happen not only in cryptocurrency but also in all other forms of finance, marketing, trading, or investment. Volatility is viewed in a negative aspect but the fact is that with a strong understanding of volatility and its causes, investors potentially can take advantage of investment opportunities.
