There are not many left. Not many left that have big market cap at least. Which one do you think will be next ? I think Lyra2v2 or neoscrypt.

If it’s still profitable to mine with gpu. Then it’s at serious risk of having hidden asic mining. Don’t fall for the trap. It’s an asic market now. Race to the bottom BR

Which Algorithm will be hit next by ASICs is wrong question, right one would be this: Which algorithm will be hit next by Bitmain? Yeah they will make GPUs fully unusable, there is still Nvidia GPUs which are more profitable on hashes like Lyra2v2 or neoscrypt. Personally I would say next is neoscrypt. Did you remember how profitable does Nvidia GTX 1080ti was for a while this winter? It could ROI in 2 month (in reality this situation was only for 1-2 week) on neoscrypt coins. I highly believe prices will rise and same situation will happen, bitmain will take care of it.

This shit has already arrived to lyra2rev2 https://www.jutuilian.com/article-61973-1.htmlThe claimed specs:
Lyra2rev2 ASIC called DAYUN Zig Z1
6.8 GH/s
1200 watts
Hashrate of 80 1080tis at 1/16th the power
(assuming 85mh/s at 250 watts per gpu)
Listed for 50,700 yuan, or about $7.4k USD
ATM Lyra2rev2 network hashrate is about 3.5Th ~510 ASIC units

28nm chips costing 7.4k$ thats fucking hilarious hahaha. I wonder if they will become doorstoppers in less than 3 months.

Lyra2REv2 already has ASIC in China. Lyrz2Z have been mined by FPGA here since a year ago. ASIC is just a matter of time and profit.

AMD perform better now in lyra2v2. Rx 580 gives 40+ Mh/s. They are many high quality lyra2v2 coins and neoscrypt for some reason is popular with shitcoins. But I can see there will be revival in GPU only algos. It is an endless cat and mouse game and those projects who gave up will regret.

yes, ASIC can kill GPU mining but ASIC can never survive (no longer profitable) for next year. ASIC producers can only monopolize prices and hashrate. Wait 2/4 months later ASICs (Producer) releases new products by sinking the previous products that have been sold. every old generation only becomes useless stuff.

I know this will sound harsh: Leave the GPUs to the Gamers, Gaming industry and Graphic Artists; Let them use the " Graphic Processing Unit" for computing " graphics" at a reasonable price. Apparently, it's foreseeable that major digital currency's algorithm battle against ASIC manufacturers will either " let it go" or keep updated until one surrender which is will not be the case for those companies ( there will always be another compatible shitcoin that will not fork). Not ASIC manufacturer's defeat, not the coin hodlers either, but surely the GPU miners will be the most affected. And the facts: Mostly all not-shitcoins can only be mined using ASICs or others are actively updated against ASICs and not GPU-optimized. Not centralized either, both are publicly available and the price between a single GPU and an ASIC isn't that high. It's a Win-win for Bitmain, man this Chinese company needs to pay more taxes.Overall, less GPU miners is for the greater good ( just do the math) In the future, most major coins will only be mineable using ASICs. Believe me, I'm from the future

Sorry, I don't believe it. I am from the stone age There are still anti-ASIC developers and algorithm developers (coins) that can only be mined with the GPUs. As long as there are miners who hate ASICs, it is likely that GPUs developers still think about innovating

For starters equihash 144.5 which is asic resistant for now. At the end only progpow will remain asic resistant with parameters changing every 6 months.

bitmain have chips for all the algos, asic resistance is futile. decentralization is a pipe dream that is going to end because goliath always wins. unless we find a way to print chips in a 3D printer

If that is the case, they should change the PoW. It has been changed already previously.

Believe me, I'm from the future thats right bro kill off the easiest way to have widespread adaptation of mining coins, "There are a lot of gpus out there rx550 rx560 rx570 rx580 rx460 rx470 rx480 vega 56 vega 64 gtx 1050 gtx 1050ti gtx 1060 gtx 1070 gtx 1070ti gtx 1080 gtx 1080ti everyone of the above if purchased sept 1 2017 made a profit to roi fully by feb 1 2018 every fucking one. now granted many people fucked up and blew or lost the profit but check the facts out I am correct. find the sept 1 2017 price for those cards and do the math. that = millions of cards and millions of adapters and asic builders killed that off. basically asic builders got so fucking hungry they ate their legs and crippled the industry by doing it. So instead of a gpu kid happy to get a free gaming rig and a few bucks to buy more games you get a gaming kid that hates mining won't use crypto . World wide x 3,000,000 maybe 5,000,000 turned off by the move. Me I am flexible I have all gear cpu gpu fpga asics. But I am a miner not a gaming kid. I have worked with pc's before apple existed and back as far as 1974. I can say they were mainframe back then not really pc's. I always saw this as a power game not a gear game. the reality is it see-saws from power king to gear king to power king and on an on. Dealing the blow to gpu hobby and small miners kills adaption big time." that quote is from here> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3843565.msg45652221#msg45652221

Equihash BTG(144,5) is being mined with an FPGA accelerator on top of the Z9 mini or any other regular equihash.
This secret device allows the the regular equihash asics to have more memory needed for the increase done by the (144,5) fork. you heard it here first.
Again it was very short sighted to used any variant of equihash after asics were discovered.

Could you do it or give me more information. I am willing to share some profit for it. Is this method also applicable to A9's? Thank you in advance.
