Today I updated to version 3.2.3.  After the update, my old wallet appeared, but everything was unverified and the server icon was red.  In addition to trying to auto connect, I could not connect to any of the other servers I tried that were listed.  I tried uninstalling an reinstalling 3.2.3.  Not sure what else to try, can anyone lend any ideas?

Thanks

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Could it be the blockchain headers, try to look for the "blockchain_headers" file inside the data folder (where the wallets folder is).
If it is 40mb or less and increasing in size, it is connected to a client, somehow your client has been trying to download it again before trying to sync the client.
If the servers list didn't have a text saying "connected to", there must be something wrong with your computer/electrum version.

Try to run it as administrator and/or temporary disable the firewall.

For some users sometimes it's hard to find Electrum folder, in Windows that directory is usually hidden and user need to check option "Show hidden files" under folder option in View tab. Electrum files are located :

- Windows : C\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets (or %APPDATA%\Electrum\wallets)
- Mac : Finder - Go to folder (shift+cmd+G) and type ~/.electrum
- Linux : Home Folder - Go - Location and type ~/.electrum

I also read that Electrum servers are blocked in Russia and only way around is to use Tor.

[... ]then i would agree that your ISP/government doing is blockade.

IMO this is the least probable event.
The problem started to appear yesterday (directly after upgrading electrum).

I am not aware of electrum server not working in russia SINCE YESTERDAY. So unless OP didn't use electrum for a pretty long time, it most probably just is a dead server or bad network configuration.

OP, when did you use electrum the last time ? Did you ever had such problems ?
Did you change anything inside of your network (firewall, topology, ... ) ?

The 'blockchain_headers' file is 41.3mb.
If I pull up the network option from the menu, status says "not connected," and server says "none."'

I was wondering if it was something up with my computer.  It has been having troubling updating and installing programs/updating programs for a while.  Slow to start up as well, but I hardly have any programs open at startup.  I have done a few diagnostic scans, but I haven't found anything.

I used electrum briefly before I updated.  The orb was green, I didn't notice any connection issues, but I didn't try to send or receive anything.  I haven't changed any firewall settings.

This sounds fishy.
Having trouble updating programs does come either from a very very old and slow PC (which isn't capable of doing anything anymore) or from a broken registry or from malware.

I'd suggest you open the resource manager of windows and check the Hard drive tab.
This will show which program does access your hard drive the most (read/write). If there is some unknown program which does a lot of reading/writing to the hard drive, you can be sure this is caused either by malware or broken windows updates.

You might as well scan your PC for malware, just to be sure.

Mind telling us what hardware you are using ? Andy halfway decent hardware shouldn't slow down your computer THAT much.

When you are having trouble with installation like on being broken or problems on updating programs then the problem is on windows itself specially when you do have non-original/genuine OS.

It shows this watermark when you let your non-genuine os to update automatically.

HDD is also a probable reason but wont really be that serious.

This sometimes happens to me, but it's not a windows OS issue or malware. Changing DNS might solve your issue because it solved my Electrum connection issue.

Here is what I do, I change my DNS to OpenDNS "208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220" or Google DNS"8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4" this time after changing my DNS I open CMD and type "ipconfig /release" then "ipconfig /renew" after that open your electrum again.

You can also try to use a VPN to unblock or bypass any restricted connection.
