I agree. It is partly our job to educate them, and probably this is not that hard a job as well. Because I think that the new generations are naturally drawn to the crypto space. Barter trade was a thousand years ago. The money was not found 1 or 2 century ago. First use of money happened before birth of Jesus.

That is not a fact, just some assumption. However, like Hydrogen said, we are still in a system of trade by barter anyway, just that this time around, things are done differently and then we get to have a better way of doing things and transacting as the case may be.

All these are exchanges, but you definitely can't call them barter. There is a reason why barters and fiat/monetary transactions are considered different. For a barter transaction, the farmer would need to find somebody who wants his 12 chickens and has something to offer the farmer, which the farmer actually needs. If not for money, finding such a person would take forever.

Some people act like centralization is absolutely necessary for the survival of the economy - it really is not. We've seen economies survive and arguably do better off with decentralized forms of money compared to fiat with no backing, or at least with less financial trouble and swings.

However even with that said and my confidence in bitcoin as an asset that is able to preserve value in the long run, it's very unlikely that governments would be willing to give up control of their sovereign fiat currencies and stop issuing them altogether.

You're driving people to a misconception and are making them think centralization is bad, its not. Crypto isn't the best form of currency, FYI. Fiat is, no matter what, for now. Crypto isn't a replacement for fiat, the crypto markets are way too volatile for them to work on a nationwide currency,and being on a specific nation's favorite.

You're driving people to a misconception and are making them think centralization is bad, its not. Crypto isn't the best form of currency, FYI. Fiat is, no matter what, for now. Crypto isn't a replacement for fiat, the crypto markets are way too volatile for them to work on a nationwide currency,and being on a specific nation's favorite.

Protection and modification is not the thing that would make the situation that you have just mentioned die off, it is actually the usage around the world that would make the volatility to become less in the long run. That is what a lot of people are really not getting today.

Even though decentralization has been on for the likes of gold and silver, it seems at some point it started tending towards centralization one way or the other, with the government being in control. While everyone is thinking the future is with crypto currency, I honestly believe the future of money is mobile phones. We are starting to use QR Codes to pay for stuff right now, which means the future is about right now if we can move that a bit quicker.

Right now we just need to make that into something bigger and more used, all around the world people have phones they can use to pay for stuff or get paid which means there would be no more need for credit card machines or anything, the shop owner will have an app for his store and he will be capable of making QR Codes for customers and customers will have their money in their mobile phones and pay with it.
