I'll even speak for myself. The new rules made newcomers to think differently. Now to get one measure-you need to write something correct and smart, so that others see your contribution and appreciated. Now many just do not want to write outright spam that no one will be rewarded.I already now see that in the main remained those whom merit indeed need and who seeks to his obtain - not buy.Innovations definitely brought more benefit.

It seems like the hype has gone, Meta has only 1-2 new pages of new or newly answered topics per day just like before the implementation of the 1 merit to become Jr. system.
As most of the signature campaigns pay weekly (I don't know about the bounty campaigns), we need to wait for a week at least to let the newbies stop complaining in Meta. After then, those who have sMerits available can start to take a look at the Bitcoin Discussion and other former spam boards to find some newbies who worth some merits... I hope this will help those boards to get spam free again (or at least partially, like a few years before)...

Babies don't cry forever. They soon get bored or tire themselves out, especially when the realise their temper-tantrum isn't working, but I said this would happen. I'm sure if theymos ever makes more restrictions they'll all be back again here crying in Meta. I hope the next one is removing Junior's signatures completely because one merit isn't enough to be able to earn here and cheating to get it will become rife. Ten merit is obviously ten times as harder/expensive and would have a much bigger impact on spam.

The user that merited him also merited 11 for this:

Telegram Username: @tanong001
Ethereum Address: 0xFa4CEAB9A6E7BAB74ca25294768012dbAAd5f7fF

Something is going on there.

The whole point of the merit system is to stop people ranking up simply by existing. You actually have to contribute meaningfully to a discussion. I'm afraid I agree with Lafu - there is nothing in your generic, vague 2 line replies that is worthy of merit.

That's no way to speak in public, young lady. If you ever want to earn merits on this forum, you'd better watch your language. It's "most users are now newbies." (And learn to swear like a grown-up, for fuck's sake.)

Therefore you should theoretically be in a position to overcome your Newbie Rank, simply by using all that amassed knowledge and experience on the forum through decent posts …

How about those people that's is deserving to be a Jr member even without merit. Is this can be possibly get ranked up and join bounty to earn money? Its true that there's a lot of people posting nonsense and doing shitpost in forum but how about those deserving ones. I think reviewing other post can be a helpful to be ranked up.

The primary purpose of this forum is not to earn money but to discuss about bitcoins and digital currency. So can you focus on discussion only please  Roll Eyes

And to answer his question... you may find one in your Local Board, I know there are some people who offers there time reviewing other accounts just to help their fellow countryman. But if you still find it hard, then the possibility of ranking up for you would be 0.1 percent ( you're still lucky because it wasn't still on the exact Zero percentage)

Draco's code style, well I was thinking of other system, then considering bounty etc.. I have to say, this is the best solution with least effort.

But I might have a good example, I am on a tech forum where we have:

Point system for comments, comments in specific topics give u points while others are worth less points, shit posting warning then ban (With your personnel dunno, as money is involved so shit posters attack in waves) + Registration time (without bans/warnings) as a + requirement for certain ranks.

We have these in the formula:

Professional posts
Community posts
Classified ads and comments (we have a marketplace here)

"Accordingly, the posts entered in the various main themes represent different '' values '' in the aggregate, '' combined '' comments: Professional comments are complete, communities are 0.25 times weighted, and marketers are 0.1 times.

The formula is the following: combined = (1 * professional) + (0.25 * community) + (0.1 * market)

Example: Professional posts: 200 Community posts: 500 Post posts: 700 combined = 1 * 200 (professional) + 0.25 * 500 (community) + 0.1 * 700 (market) = 395 The registration time and the number of posts required to access the rank do not change, but only the combined post count."

This means more ranks more work, we have 12 ranks + VIP/Special ranks  there. + From a certain rank u can get custom Avatar.
Can be done right and with nice visuals. Its just my two cents, I know it is a simple forum.

Cheers!

If you're deserving to be a Junior then you should have no issue in getting merit and that is what the entire system is there for in the first place. If you post crap then you will get nowhere and receive no merit but those who contribute and post something worthwhile will likely get the merit very quickly and rise through the ranks naturally over time and in line with activity. Alternatively, you can even bypass that by purchasing a Copper Membership which gives you the benefits of being a Member, but I'd just work on ranking up naturally by improving your contributions here.

So this is democracy in business. Write and talk on any topic. It is clear that not all write well and pleasant things.
And it turns out that someone pressed the button and what was free - now you have to pay money, although not great, but if you take into account millions of users, the amount turns out good.
It turns out that because of the manipulation of a group of users such as I can not use the system and all its advantages.
I believe that the system should be as transparent as possible and clear.
....... now I look how to earn 1 merit.

It is very good that the number of sources of merit has increased.
By the way, usually, people say that in order to get merit, you need to write useful, quality posts. However, I noticed that many quality posts do not receive any merit, due to the fact that members of the forum have no merit, which they can give.

2nd that. But if you notice the post that is of good quality, you can bring it to attention so that merit source are able to credit them.

What would be the solution to quality posts receiving merits since there is a bit of subjectivity involved in determining what is a quality post?

I have seen some posters attempt to highlight quality posts by responding to them, and saying that they would merit the post, but that they do not have any merits, and sometimes that will inspire someone else to merit the post.

It seems to me that sometimes you can quote a quality post, and you can point out what makes that post a quality post, which might not only cause the original post to receive a merit, but also might cause your recognition post to receive a merit (while you are contributing value to the forum).

By the way, I have sen some posts that are quite complicated and they quote others and they even provide links, but sometimes I feel way too busy to read the post in detail and disinclined to click on the enclosed links - any newer member could increase his/her likelihood of receiving merits by reading the post and links, quoting it, and summarizing what is great or not so great about the post.  Frequently members will find those kinds of discussions to be valuable and sometimes inspire members to spend some of their smerits.

In which thread of the forum should I quote better posts from my point of view? How to do it correctly? I really want to make a useful contribution to our forum.

There are such called merit sources to whom you may perform some of your posts that you count good enough. Although I saw months ago such suggestions from metit sources on Services board, but I didn't meet them long time ago. I do not know the current situation with those sources, but I have found the official info from older theymos post:
I will not be posting a definitive list of merit sources (so that people don't bug them too much), though you'll soon figure out who they are if you pay attention.
So, you kinda will have to make an effort to find them.

No, it's a necessary measure because people like you are greedy and lazy and abuse things to benefit themselves financially. When something is free people take advantage of it and sadly people are free to create as many accounts as they want here just to abuse sig campaigns and bounties by spamming. You are a perfect example of why the merit system exists and you've only got yourself to blame because of it. You aren't interested in contributing to discussions here, you just want to rise through the ranks to earn money in the laziest way possible and will even cheat to achieve this:

Hello, this is a promising coin with very ambitious plans,
readed the whitepaper and some of the plans are very ambitious considering the current government laws in the cannabis industry which is a grey area at this time.

Good luck

I agree with you, but sometimes I get confused. At example, you wrote a great and quality post in detail, but it received no merit. At the same time, post below, where we write something like:" I fully agree with the opinion above, Bla Bla Bla, etc..." or any other set of words, repeating posts in the topic, only his/er own words, and this post get a merit, and me case it's a shame for my efforts.

To draw the attention of sources of merit to a good post, where to can I write in this case?

You need to post where you can contribute in a meaningful way. If you go looking for merit sources you're more likely to get in trouble than to get merits.

Also it's not just merit sources - there are thousands of other users who can send you merits.
