Most of the scam mining programs being posted are from hijacked accounts.

Here’s how to spot a potentially hijacked account:
Go to the members profile and click on last post.  If the member recently started posting again after not posting for several years, odds are the account was hijacked.

You can also check the members who ask questions or give OP props the same way as there are usually 2-3 hijacked accounts in this type of thread.
Whoever mines the block which ends up containing your transaction will get its fee.

Have you ever fallen into the scam one that made by the people on criteria that you said?  Cheesy

Although can't be the standard for sure, email & password changes and all of what you said can be one of a several indicating that some account (several accounts with some posts scheme) was trying to scam BTT users. That's basic info but useful enough.

Simple. If it was too good to be true and promise a high yield of ROI. Not to mention there are this ICOs that always promise on their investors and something there's coming and coming.

What you are trying to say in know. Mining is a problem solving method so if you start Bitcoin mining you will check the hash rate of GPU or ASIC. Nowdays these two only successfully run in the market and no one participate in useless altcoin. So mining participation is totally different category. But you explain the alt accounts in this topic I think it is totally useless way to create a thread. My suggestion is create useful thread in this scetion.

Users here are very literate and any programs are checked by antivirus after download.
The basic skam spreads through a self-moderated topic.
OP can remove any post, if it chose "self-moderated topic" when creating this topic.

Therefore, if in the subject you are offered to download or buy something, carefully look that at the top of the topic there was no warning: "This is a self-moderated topic"

Rarely will a miner become a victim of a scam mining software. Most of the miners and I am referring to home miners because industrial miners are well educated, even the home miners know a thing or two when it come to software to use for their mining devices.

They have done a bit of research and read at least a few posts here. Most of them use Claymore miners which are well know by all the community of miners and used in masses. The only person who would fall for a scam mining software is a greedy one who thinks he can make more money with that software and is fooled by it.

One other simple thing, yet often overlooked by scammers, is the fact that the ANN threads of scams are poorly designed. If it seems like any college student could make the thread and it does not even contain proper images or marketing material, it is also most likely a scam.

Companies who invest in research and development of real products will certainly have a budget for marketing as well.

Yes, one another simple thing that can be one of indication. I found something like that often.

One in thousand miners may fall into that kind scamming scheme, and it may refer to the greedy one miner that you said, lol.

It's rather easy to stay away from scam mining software or such. Just stick to well-known programs for mining and you will be totally Ok! I really cannot see why anyone would even want to download some sketchy noname miner when we have well-known miners for any algorithm Grin

Well, those newbies always choose a miner which is easy to use and getting higher payouts if they don't know which is well-known mining programs they can be a victim of scam mining program that is why we have a forum here to help newbies to know which program is safe or not.

There are many mining programs spread out through the internet and not all people knows which program they should use.
So, not all newbies have the ability to spot which mining programs are a scam.

This is general thumb rule to be checked before you trying hire anyone for the project. If the person is long time active on the forum then you can go pick him up for your project.
Then if you find some recently changed the password and email you may report to Moderator to check and verify the scam attempts.
