The AppleByte Foundation announces Phase II of its fund raising campaign with a budget of $1,000,000.

Here is a clip from our Phase II Indiegogo Campaign:

In Phase I the AppleByte Foundation raised $50,000+ ($5,000 via crowdfunding), and the remainder from substantial individuals who support the arts) to fund the development and server infrastructure for the digital currency, AppleByte. That work was completed in 2014. Learn more at http://applebyte.me

AppleBytes have since been donated and tipped to 500+ artists around the globe, to musicians, painters, sculptors, dancers, actors, film makers, writers, photographers, designers, directors and many more. Meet some of them on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/applebyteme

AppleByte went live May 1, 2014, and since then has grown by word of mouth to a user community in the tens of thousands, 35,000+ on social media alone.

In Phase II our budget is $1,000,000 raised from individual art lovers, art foundations, and substantial donors supporting the arts, including $50,000 raised from crowdfunding. The funding will be used for marketing & advertising, additional staff, and increased server infrastructure.

Here is what we accomplished in Phase I

 - The AppleByte Infrastructure and digital currency has been developed, tested and proven successful worldwide.
 - Over 500 artists have received awards, donations & tips of AppleBytes from the foundation and art lovers worldwide.
 - The foundation gives artists many places to redeem AppleBytes, including gift cards from Amazon, American Express, Visa, AMC Theaters, music downloads, restaurants and many others.
 - We have a dedicated social media community of 35,000+ artists & art lovers who discusses, supports and promotes artists around the world.
 - An app for tipping artists, allows fans to send tips & donations instantly to any artist, anywhere via their Twitter account.
 - A music download site that pays musicians 100% of the sales proceeds, (free to list, no fees ever), is now the highest paying music download site for musicians.
 - A wallet app that runs on MAC, Windows, and Android allows artists and fans to earn AppleBytes on their own, simply running in the background on their computer.
 - We have an established, experienced team of developers from the US, UK, Germany and Finland.

You can learn more about these features at www.applebyte.me

Please consider supporting us in our Phase II campaign so we can support thousands of artists in 2015.

I am confused  Huh

You have 12k followers on twitter! roughly the same on facebook but you have a thread that is pretty much dead, 12 pages in around a year! even if 1% of you're followers posted here it would be kinda lively imo

Is this the official thread?

I think it is probably because Applebytes is a social media based coin--bitcointalk isn't really social media. It is the center stage for a lot of cryptocurrency discussion that happens to take place on an archaic medium (a forum). Discussions are difficult to follow here, which is why a coin's bitcointalk thread alone cannot be the only thing you judge adoption or success from.

Yes this is the official thread and <ik_do> is quite correct. From day one we have built AppleByte with a focus on the real user community. In our case that is artists and art lovers. If you read our website, you will see that it is directed at the user community, not the technogeeks. We have always believed for an altcoin to be successful longterm, it is the everyday people who use the coin that are important, not the number of speculators on the exchanges or the members of this forum, who are more interested in the newest technology. Although AppleByte combined features from Litecoin, Peercoin (automatic checkpointing) and Darkcoin (DGW2) that is old news.

For all the grief Doge is given in these forums, they certainly showed the power of a focused community.

What we have found from the beginning, when we are talking to the general public, that 80% have still never heard of Bitcoin, and 90% of those that have, believe all the negative press about it. And no one we talked to has ever heard of Ripple, Stellar, NXT, Counterparty or any other bitcoin 2.0 coin.

Have you already raised the $1,000,000 for phase II?

No we have not, we are just beginning the process and that is the budget for all of 2015.

We are doing what we did when we raised the $50,000 for Phase I, a very small portion from crowdfunding (to help build the user community) and the largest portion from substantial individuals who support the Arts. In Phase II we are also talking with foundations that support the arts.

Will we raise it? We believe we will. We are based in NYC, which has the largest concentration of artists and art supporters of any city in the world.

I definitely think the name is trendy and it will help it alot. Hes right about the social media outlets.
The general populace spends all waking day following people and tagging nonsense.

If you want to make it for the people you have to go where the people is..are?
Keep doing big work guys, I will invest in some and keep an eye out for this one. God job and great thinking

Yes, the coin is doing better than it ever has in terms of real user growth. We have 35,000 plus social media followers, a new music site, a new website. More art fans, tipping artists than we have ever had and artists spending applebytes then ever.

This forum is so enamored with "technology innovation", that they forget the only way a coin grows longterm is with real (not crypto geeks) users who are engaged.

Coingecko ranks AppleByte as number 5 out of all coins in terms of user size and engagement.

The price will catch up as the crypto community sees what is happening.

why official pool limit the hash power to 25Mhs dev ?

The pool server has limits so that the ABY users who mine with their CPU are not knocked out of mining by miners with big asic chips. The pool also pays a bonus to CPU & GPU miners.

Thanks

The user community is growing like crazy, over 14,500 on Twitter, lots of tipping. The art community is really grasping the idea.

It won't be long until the crypto community sees the real value.
