Ripple is just on #Hype now. ripple never beats bitcoin in capitalization or price
so i think no, ripple isnt next bitcoin. bitcoin is still the best

As we all have seen ripple has been quite strong these past few days and with all that it has done over the past months compared to most other currencies and the launch of xrapid is actually starting to show in its price.
There is so much talk about ripple taking over bitcoin and being 10$ what are your thoughts on this ? I've heard a lot about Ripple and think that there are more promising and technically advanced projects like Stellar Lumens. XRP is really speculative in price, maybe that's why it looks attractive for investing. |

I think this is impossible. Ripple can't replace Bitcoin even if every bank on earth started using Ripple net or XRP. Bitcoin is holding money where as Ripple is trying to resolve the problem of bank transfers worldwide. They both have a different scope and work differently and are doing different things so in my view cannot be compared.

Forget about Bitcoin. Ripple is not even capable of replacing Ethereum as the no.2 crypto (in terms of market cap). Its association with the banks has tarnished its reputation permanently.

Impossible to happen bitcoin is too far compared to ripple. Bitcoin cannot be displaced by any other coin that easy. Yes ripple now is in the second place next to bitcoin and ethereum was thrown out to third place but it cannot replace bitcoin as the number one most valuable and popular digital currency. |

No hopefully it will not it's going to be a nightmare, we all know that this is not decentralized a big company is controlling this, and making a centralized project the top crypto in the decentralized technology is such a big shit and a nightmare it's ok if he aim for the number but never number one. |

I dont think so, if banks is the one that pump then thatll simply make xrp more centralized and the banksters will be more dominant ill stick to bitcoin even if xrp take over the 1st place because I simpoy dont like the idea though. |

XRP has a totally different use case than BTC, Ripple/XRP wants to help banks, BTC wants to replace banks. I'd love to invest in Ripple the company but really don't understand why I'd want to own XRP. Why would I want to own a coin that's just for inter bank transfers?

IMHO, ripple is very much overrated. What we see now on the market is the result of major frauds. And this is very bad: the ripple is not a full-fledged crypto currency, but, unfortunately, attracts the views of investors. Development of the ecosystem of crypto currencies does not occur.
