Most of the exchange which I used most often are Binance, Kucoin, Hitbtc, Livecoin, Coinbene, Coss, Bittrex, Idex, Cryptopia, Houbi, and Okex, those are good to me in my opinion. But still there are lot of exchange out there which I think you can probably choose that the best for you, you can check it at coinmarketcap.

I don't think it's going to be that groundbreaking. Most people are used to how Binance works right now. It's extremely responsive, trades settle instantly, and spreads are extremely tight.

Another benefit is that they don't seem to care about KYC and all that nonsense. In other words, even if Binance's DEX will work better than all the other ones out there, people will still use Binance's main exchange.

I can't even blame people for that with how little of them actually care about decentralization. Most people just want to trade without headache and Binance allows them to do exactly that.

DEXs will only gain traction when the centralized ecosystem has become entirely infected with the KYC virus. In other words, only when there is no other viable option left people will go for DEXs.

Exactly. People won't care about decentralization, if they could easily exchange cryptocurrencies without downtime. Since centralized exchanges like Binance provide the most liquidity, buy and sell orders become settled quickly. In contrast, decentralized exchanges lack liquidity but they’re much more secure and cheaper in costs than their centralized counterparts. Eventually, people would switch to decentralized exchanges if they continue to experience undesired situations within centralized exchanges such as hacks or theft.

With a decentralized exchange, there's no counterparty risk, you're the sole owner of your funds (if you have access to your private key), and there’s no single point of failure. It could be said that decentralized exchanges would live almost forever if the blockchain they're operating within is still alive. As such, I believe that the best decentralized exchange yet would be Bitshares.

Bitshares is extremely fast, responsive, and has some level of liquidity. While centralized exchanges still have greater liquidity than the Bitshares DEX, this last one is the safest approach to trade your cryptocurrencies without having to worry about hacks or theft. However, not everyone is accustomed to using decentralized exchanges, due to their complexity in design. Therefore, centralized exchanges would still have the lead unless something very bad happens with them.

Nonetheless, the best decentralized exchanges I've found yet are: Bitshares, IDEX, and Bisq. There's a new one that will be launched soon called EOSFinex, which will live on the EOS blockchain. Once it's up and running, then it could become the best decentralized exchange in terms of speed, and lower costs. Just my thoughts Grin

It is true that decentralized exchanges are still not very popular, but in my opinion this will soon change. On all the DEX's, volume is growing mainly thanks to tokens, but it helps to popularize them.

Answering your question, I spend most time on IDEX lately. Their information shows that they have the highest volume from all decentralized exchanges.

Here is some overview: https://twitter.com/DapplistCT/status/1051220827264438276

Right to say but we have few best exchanges in which Binance, Bittrex and Coinbase are the top exchanges and other than these three the exchanges you mentioned will also work the same but you will have to look at each and everything. Most traders are using best exchanges which they choose due to its simple use and large volume availability features and ofcourse there are many other things to consider which make these exchanges our best choice.

Idex would be my first pick.
Never got problems with them. All is fast with the right gas.

Your real problem would be if the token that you own or want to be traded is listed with them.
You might need to also communicate via telegram with the management of the certain token and tell them to request a listing with IDEX.

from the first time I entered cryptocurrency I always used Forkdelta/Etheredelta and the Token Store as an option to decentralize exchange, and Forkdelta + Metamask is the best in my opinion, very user-friendly and safe.

IDEX seems to be the best bet for exchanging tokens in the quickest and cheapest way possible. While not fully decentralized (since it combines both centralization and decentralization), it works as intended as it allows you to exchange tokens without the need for middleman. However, in terms of popularity, I don't think that IDEX is one of those DEXs since there are other exchanges with greater liquidity. A good example of this would be CryptoBridge and EtherDelta which have a variety of tokens listed there, and their liquidity is quite high.

While IDEX is superior in terms of speed and lower costs, it's not as popular as other decentralized exchanges. However, this could change over time as people become interested in using these services to protect themselves against the inherent risks of centralized exchanges such as hacks or theft. We know that centralized exchanges like Binance and Bittrex have a wider audience than decentralized exchanges, but once people recognize the true risks of centralized exchanges, they'll start using DEXs more often.

Nonetheless, among the best decentralized exchanges there are: IDEX, CryptoBridge, ForkDelta, Bitshares/OpenLedger, and Waves DEX. However, their success will depend on how many people are using it for their daily trades to maintain high liquidity like centralized exchanges. Just my opinion Smiley

Shapeshift is basically decentralized and has been around forever. Erik voorhes is the owner of shapeshift and he has been a trusted reliable guy in the crypto market so I will definetly suggest any company he has created so far. Dude has collected insane amount of money from people (at the amount of 50k bitcoins, not 50k dollars worth of bitcoin, literally 50 thousand bitcoins) and repaid everyone back with interest when he sold his satoshidice company.

He managed to make close to a billion dollars from his crypto works so far and get out at the perfect time when satoshidice was getting worse and worse and right now he probably couldn't sell it for a thousand bitcoin if he wanted to. He built coinapult for debit card systems and with bitinstant, right now shapeshift is his main focus and it has been a known great company so far.

Binance, Hitbtc and huobi is my daily use exchanges.
Hitbtc looks so hard for now, and as far as I know a lot of people experiencing delays in all transactions and also losing of their withdrawals. It is better to go for IDEX even it is a little bit low volume market exchange than of the others but it have a good reviews.

For now, the best decentralized exchange is IDEX. Its been there for some period of time and I never find a big problem. The number of new coins being listed on idex growth day by day and the user interface is easier to use. The loading time is good as well.

I posted a thread in the Economy> Exchange sub-forum with a big list of decentralized exchanges. People don't know about it but there are so many of it already, it's up waiting for the users. But I suppose it will take again some time to be adopted. Personally I like Bisq.
Edit: Here  is the thread I am talking about: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4724064.msg42685352#msg42685352

IDEX is among the fastest decentralized exchanges in existence today. However, there will be a new DEX that will make use of EOS's blockchain to perform orders at unmatched speeds. The DEX is called EOSFinex, and once launched, it could greatly rival other decentralized exchanges we know and love today. Of course, it’s all about user adoption and friendliness. Which means that if EOSFinex proves to be efficient, secure, and user friendly, then it could take the world by storm.

Nonetheless, I believe that as several Blockchain networks scale, decentralized exchanges would become more useful for our daily lives. Centralized exchanges have been largely dominant ever since Bitcoin was created, but things could change soon as people realize the true risks of such entities. After all, cryptocurrencies were designed to circumvent the middleman, and bring freedom to the world. Which means that one way or another, decentralized exchanges will become practical in the future. Just my thoughts Grin

What's the best decentralized exchange in existence today? Is it Bitshares, CryptoBridge, or another DEX? I'm wondering about this since I want to trade in a DEX with the most liquidity and performance to exchange various cryptocurrencies. Last time, I've used EtherDelta DEX for exchanging some ERC-20 tokens back into Ethereum, but it was quite slow and unresponsive. This shows that DEXs are still in their very beginnings, as they can't scale to thousands of orders per second.

Nonetheless, which decentralized exchange do you think it's best? I would like to know your thoughts about this. Smiley

I grew up in this community with Etherdelta even before IDEX came so my bias goes to them. I learned so much in trading with it that are really memorable gains or losses wise  Grin just sad that has happened to their founder

EtherDelta is a good decentralized exchange, because it has many ERC-20 Token trading pairs compared with most DEXs out there. However, it's not perfect due to its slow speed and high fees. It is largely dependent on the Ethereum network itself to scale, resulting in massive order settlements within EtherDelta. Since Ethereum hasn't scaled yet, EtherDelta will keep facing the same issues repeatedly. But once ETH adopts Casper PoS, then the whole performance of the network would increase to a point where EtherDelta and other dApps could benefit largely by it.

There's another DEX based on EtherDelta which is called ForkDelta and promises to be much faster and more stable than its counterpart. However, since it depends on the ETH blockchain, it will face the same drawbacks as its father. Other decentralized exchanges like Bitshares/OpenLedger, CryptoBridge, and IDEX are much faster and more scalable, but aren't widely adopted by the public yet. There's no doubt that decentralized exchanges will improve over time, but if they want to take over centralized exchanges, they need to show the world that they're capable of scaling to a wider audience within a short time frame.

Nevertheless, I believe that the best decentralized exchanges are IDEX and those that are based on Bitshares such as OpenLedger, CryptoBridge, and MoonDEX. Just my opinion Smiley

I think IDEX is one of the most popular decentralized exchanges in use. IDEX supports many tokens based ERC-20 by far – over 400. It also has a signed strategic partnership with the WINGS Foundation, and any ICO launched through the latter will automatically be listed on IDEX.

IDEX has great performance, compared to other known decentralized exchanges. I believe that it has good potential to take the crypto world by storm, as people realize its benefits. The vast number of tokens available on such DEX shows how popular it is right now. This means that the competition would be between EtherDelta and IDEX as decentralized exchanges which provide ERC-20 token trading pairs.

On the other hand, IDEX's partnership with WINGS would allow it to expand in token offerings over time, which is good for mainstream adoption of the same. In my experience, IDEX is quite fast compared with most decentralized exchanges such as EtherDelta and ForkDelta. However, these last two decentralized exchanges could improve in performance over time as the Ethereum blockchain scales with its Casper PoS consensus algorithm and Sharding.

Other decentralized exchanges which are also good are Bitshares, Switcheo, Saturn Network, Radar Relay, Paradex, MoonDEX, Bancor, and even Bisq. This last one is convenient (although not as fast as other DEXs) since it allows you to trade your Bitcoin to any other cryptocurrency listed in a P2P fashion. The Bisq decentralized exchange automatically connects to the Tor network for privacy and anonymity which is a plus, IMO. Nonetheless, decentralized exchanges could get the traction they need within the mainstream world if they improve in terms of performance and user friendliness. Wink
