actually yes I did - the merit I have (which is very little - so surprised you mention it) was earned by me - I did not buy an account or pay someone for that merit.

I know it is allowed - does not mean that it should be allowed ---  people rely on the trust system and a members forum status to validate whether the member is a quality forum member and/or trustworthy.
The fact that someone may have bought that account completely negates the whole trust/merit system that these forums have.

No you are wrong. I didn't buy my hero account. It is the laziest way to come here and try to earn without doing any learning.

Account sales are a plague, and serve no benefit to anyone other than the greedy individuals on both sides of the deal.

Considering that I'm not good at starting threads, and just more likely trolling noobs on some sections. I still reached these phase without being worried about getting tagged. For account buyers its really good to feel that you have made an achievement...

It's not impossible to achieve this rank, but it would take a lot of time. That's the problem of most people, and they want to receive instant gratification in something with less effort. Do you think anyone would be willing to reward you with such actions? I don't think so. It's not the quantity that matters, and it's the quality. As long as you are doing the right things in your forum life here in Bitcointalk, you would get a lot of merits, especially the ones that are deserving.

A lot of improvement can be seen from the local boards to the main boards in the forum, and you have to seize the moment to come up with a great topic (hopefully is not plagiarized) and start discussing. I think that's why it's a discussion board and it's called bitcointalk
