I've been involved in gambling more than 10 years, indeed I have to admit that I was addicted to it on my first year as I could not control myself. But after that I could manage/control myself, I know when to start and when to stop so I do not think it is an addiction as it was.

I think the fun in gambling is putting  a certain  amount of cash and getting the amount in certain multiple  rate,  gambling is fun when you win either in real casino or online.  The part where you lose is usually  the bitter experience ,  most especially if the stake is high. 

If people play for fun then it is fine but the moment they want to just make money from gambling either on site or casinos is the destruction which could happen and can destroy them self and the relations ship with others as they will need money to keep playing.

No one is even saying they should not play for fun, but if we really want to be realistic with ourselves, just like the OP said, there is actually not much of a fun when it comes to online gambling and apparently, most people at some point will find out they are simply playing because of the money.

Anything with which you cannot live for couple of months then it is a sign that you are addicted to it. If it is positive thing and help you in your personal life then it is good but if it can cause harm or like lose your money then it is a huge worry .

This thread is actually for those who have one way or the other mentioned on this section of the forum about catching fun in online gambling so as not to get addicted, which I am sure I am not the only person who must have come across this.

I totally understand that you can at least have some fun in real life casinos since there are people around you can gist with, you can even go with friends, there are other activities you get to lay your hands on etc, which can actually divert your attention from the impulse that comes with gambling and rather focus on the fun, instead of trying to win at all cost.

However, in online gambling, I really want to hear from those who said they can have fun doing so, which to me, it is more like virtually everyone gambling online is actually in it for the money. At least, I have gambled on freebitco.in dice few times, and I was bored as (whatever you want to fill in here), with the whole martingale strategy, that I had to look for a script to use while I just kept doing some other activities. Gambling for long term does not necessarily mean you still cannot see the fun aspect, as that is actually based on how you perceive gambling yourself irrespective of you being in the short term in it or long term as the case may be.

The fun to me is what you can only obtain from a real casino and asides that, when it comes to online gambling, there is really nothing more than focusing on the machine doing the rolling’s and hoping for a win. Yes. Online gambling is not as fun as physical gambling because of many obvious reasons. In online gambling, there's a high probability that you'll get cheated by someone, or experience hacks, while with physical gambling, that's somewhat unlikely to happen. When you go to a real casino or gambling site, you'd get the real experience with real people, whereas with online gambling you just sit down on your computer and place your bets without interacting with anyone in real life. Even with integrated chat, and all the likes, the experience in online gambling is never compared to real life gambling.

Perhaps in the future, the online gambling experience would become improved to a point where you would be able to gamble in some sort of Virtual Reality with the ability to see other players' avatars and interact with them. Then with voice inputs, you could easily chat with your friends while you gamble. This would simulate the real gambling experience, as technology improves over time, making the need to go to physical locations completely unnecessary.

As well as you do, I have the same experience, and I think many gamblers would agree, since online gambling and real life gambling are two completely different worlds.

Having fun in the gambling game is different than the other activities. Maybe we can say that enjoy the gambling game is one thing that includes in the fun itself. But of course, the other people will say that enjoy the gambling is not part of the fun especially if we are losing money because we will be sad in that time and we cannot get that fun. Maybe some people can converse with the other people while some people don't like to have a chat or talk with other people and only focus on the game. As long as we can enjoy what we did, no matter in the gambling game or other activities, we can feel that we are having fun in that things and we enjoy to do that thing.
