Bitcoin is known as the king(father) of crypto currencies , but why is that so?

Let's cut the long story short.

When it comes to technical aspects, we might say that other alts outrank btc because some of them have capabilities of transacting more payments, much lower fees, higher market caps and other outstanding features depending to the platform they have. And yet, btc remains the king, why? Simply because it is the pioneer, the most adopted, the zenith. Even how hard the other alts try to improve their platform, they still remain on btc's shadow as long as they don't have the power enough to change people's perspective.

first of all market cap is not even a "technical aspect" it is a fake and meaningless number that is used by mistake to compare cryptocurrencies.
secondly bitcoin is not on top because of either one the things you said. bitcoin is on top because of the features it has and the utilities it is providing otherwise it would have gotten dumped down back to $10 just as useless altcoins do after each pump. the reason why it is keeping its price up is all those utilities and real adoption it has.
and finally the "capabilities" and "outstanding features" that you are talking about in altcoins have so far been added at a huge cost. for example the faster blocks comes at the cost of a gigantic blockchain size and centralization of the nodes. in other words what you see from outside as "better" feature has actually made the coin 100 times worse. and that is why they  can't rise up properly.

I think bitcoin is considered as a king of all coin in crypto because it is the most amazing coin and it is the first coin in crypto that gain a lot of trust from its economy. bitcoin's influence is clearly seen on other coins. when btc goes down, the other coins also go down. and vice versa if the btc rises, the other coins also follow the rise. therefore btc is leader for cryptocurrency

It is still the King, because a whole network of merchants and users are supporting and using it on a daily basis.  This is why it is different to many of these Alt coins/Shitcoins, because they merely exist for their speculative value and they are not used for their actual purpose.

Surely, this is not an easy thing to make bitcoin investors move to become altcoin investors. Bitcoin is currently the king of cryptocurrency. But I do not think he'll always stay in first place. New cryptos are created in there is a great chance that one day one of them will destroy Bitcoin. The competition is tough and the future will tell.

I still don't understand why people love to use terms like this about bitcoin! bitcoin is simply on top because it is good and the others are not capable of competing with it because they are bad! in other words bitcoin is a currency and is used in many places as a currency while it is also a store of value and also an investment while altcoins are only an investment and as speculators people dump them eventually when they gained enough profit from their investments and know that there is no more usage for them.

Bitcoin is always number one in terms of coinmarket, even when bitcoin has high transaction fees(last year) or even before lightning network creation. The essentials of its existence was very impressionable to all users that may lift up its strategy. In late 2017 Bitcoin fee was very high around $15 and that time the model of Satoshi Nakamoto  is seems to be failed to transfer across the world with almost no fee but the fee is very small and one can easily make a transfer of $5 anywhere in the world.

2 Store of value - It's still a lot. Physical gold has survived wars and governments. Now we have it's virtual version(Bitcoin) that can't be falsified and is easy to carry and trade. Isn't it great?
Bitcoin is functioning as a payment system in Korea and Japan. I could even order food with it or pay the dentist nearby. It's fun to be using something nobody else does, it's a great talk at parties and a great speculative asset, just ask all those traders who made it their full-time job.

3. Lightning Network - LN is making Bitcoin more valuable. Small stores and companies accepting bitcoin using LN that was perfect for small transactions.


Mostly the name, the established brand, as well as the community. Currently people are using it as a safe haven during unstable times. Read what's happening in Venezuela and Zimbabwe. A similar thing was happening in China before the ban. People are using it to do everything the governments are trying to stop them from. Moving money out of the country, hiding income, buying banned goods and services, gambling. It's a rebel coin and the rebel in me is supporting it in full.

In addition, Bitcoin is more accessible, with more exchanges, more merchants, more software and more hardware that support it. Bitcoin is far more liquid, with much larger volumes than every crypto currencies. Bitcoin has the largest developer ecosystem with more software and more implementations than any crypto currencies. Bitcoin has the most entrepreneurs creating companies around it with a lot of intellect, dedication and creativity going toward making it more useful.
When you compete with Bitcoin, not only are you competing with its much larger user base, development team and mining operation, but you’re also competing against the very large ecosystem of startups, open source projects and entrepreneurs.

Bitcoin can be popular by now since people only knew only about Bitcoin and do not have any insight with other crypto. But I believe that there will be another crypto that would surpass Bitcoin for payments.
