Some of my friends tell me Cryptopia is a solid exchange to trade on. Especially for the smaller coins (not in the top 300),
But, some other friends absolutely hate Cryptopia, they say the UI sucks and it even has scam coins on them.
Both of them have a point, I know the UI isn't the best, but i also know it's good to trade smaller coins on.

I'm wondering, have you ever used this exchange and if yes, would you recommend it?

I've used it last year. And yes, most of the coins and tokens that are getting listed there are the coins and tokens that people barely know about. Does the UI/UX suck? Yes. But it works; and that's what mattered to me in the past as I only had to do one trade anyway. Take note that this was last year though, I don't know how good or bad it is right now.

I use cryptopia every now and than, mostly when I have to trade some lesser known coins that I cannot trade elsewhere. I can't say that it's great, but most of the time it works OK. What you need to pay attention to is the current wallet status relative to the coins you are about to trade:

If it says "In Maintenance", you may experience problems with withdrawals, deposits, and trading in general. It has happened to me a couple of times before, and I had to wait. But if you wait long enough, everything will eventually be fine.

Because of what some traders has said concerning cryptopia I have not been trading with them until recently. However since I have been using them I did not have any complaints about cryptopia and it did not suck. You should have in mind that you make profits from cryptopia if you know how to do coins flipping.

This exchange more than 2 years operated and i used it long time ago, for deposit and withdrawal is running smothly all the times. But one thing that should be added on this exchange is features of stop limit so i can use it for stop loss, because mostly all low cap coin is more volatility than biggest cap coin, i been loss more than 50% just a few days in this exchange because no stop loss feature.

I agree with everything you have said. I just want to add something to what have mentioned already. Cryptopia has a lot of withdrawal and deposit issues, I mean all of the exchanges can experience the same issue, but Cryptopia have it too much. Maybe because of the number of coins listed on their exchange.
I once have an issue with deposit months ago, and It was the most frustrating experience Ive ever had in any exchange. The support ticket took almost 2 months without a single update on the status of my deposit to reply and fix the problem.

I do use Cryptopia, since 2016. If based on experience, I would recommend it because I haven't had any problems with their service (so far), others do have though, so the decision is still up to you.

It's a must to check the status of the wallet(s) first before making any transaction (@butka provided the link above) and just don't put all your crypto in one exchange, diversify. We are not sure what will happen later today, tomorrow, or in the future.

The old site layout wasn't the greatest, but it was still accessible and worked fine. The site looks better now and it functioned fine back when I was on the exchange to list a few lesser-known coins like Bitcore for sale, nothing special or out of the ordinary. I have seen people report about the occasional problem here and there about the exchange, and it seems things haven't changed a whole lot on that end, but it's definitely better than a comparable exchange like Yobit. I would still exercise the normal procedures to be used on an exchange, like not storing too many funds on site (or really just store as much as you are willing to lose).

During use that exchange i was got bad experience that my coins were stuck at there because the deposit showed complete confirmations but my coins does not appears into my accounts and i was send ticket support to solved my issue but their contact supports were very low respond although my issue eventually solved but it took more than a month to do so and after got this experience then i decide to not use them anymore and switch to another exchange

They are one of the few places that accepts spectrecoin in their portfolio and the only place I can either buy or sell more of it which means I do not use them commonly for all my work however I do use it frequently for staking purposes and getting more spectre whenever I have money (I believe spectre is highly undervalued and should go up at least x4-5 levels on top of this).

So far anytime I used it they have been doing great, quite fast, easy to understand gui and I have no idea how their support is, good part about that is that it means I never needed to use their support to know how it is, when you never need the support guys that's a good thing.

I've been with Crytopia for years and never had any issues.

They never did KYC.

The only issues in my opinion is that there liquidity is low for some coins and their withdraw fees are high for coins like BTC and USDT.

They also have issues with daemon wallets and takes a while for them to reboot them. However this rarely happens.

So no complaints here about Crytopia, good exchange.

I experience both, I dislike the interface probably just the color combination but the night mode I think works fine. What I like about cryptopia is that they are airdropping coins including LTC and ETC on your wallets. I remember I was surprise I have 2 LTC in my wallet. Funny because I got out of LTC while the price is $360 but I still have left in cryptopia. The exchange so far I good, they don't asks for KYC too.

Yes, I have used this market, but just to sell tokens / coins and then withdraw to the main wallet. So not as a place for daily trading.
I also think the whole UI is annoying, services are also bad, they often maintenance the wallet.

So far I do not have any bad experience in trading in Crpytopia. I also love cryptopia than any other exchangers because of its lower fee than others. The most unforgetable thing I will never forget in cryptopia is the OTP code. I am nit familiar that time in that google authenticator so I look stupid because of it. I can't open my account. But it is okey now.

i personally have trading experience in cryptopia, and at that time there were no serious obstacles. at that time i got tokens and exchanges available only in cryptopia. but if a larger exchange is available, of course i will choose it

I have never made use of the Cryptopia exchange and I never intended to. I have seen a few people comment good about it, but having a cheap coins listed on their exchange shouldn’t be an enough reason for me to go for it.

But what you said is also right, the exchanger you’re making use of doesn’t matter at all, the only thing that matters is your experience and skills. As long as you have good skills and experience anything can work, but not everyone likes things that sucks. Lol.

Whether the UI sucks or not, as long as it works, then there is no problem. They can even fix that if their participants start to give them feedback about what they hate about the UI. The only thing you should be concerned about is the coins that are being listed, are they listing scam coins as some people he claimed? If the answer is yes, then it is best for you to draw X on it and move it, since there are better exchanges.

I have used cryptopia exchange many times and I was able to notice 2 disadvantages using that platform. I noticed that their scalability is very low to the extent to deposit QTUM token took more than 72 hrs to arrive the wallet. I also noticed that the service charge is a bit high especially with BTC. I have used them only once and I do not claim to be expert on cryptopia at all because I am not but honestly considering all other exchanges in the market I think they are fine. They are not great or maybe not even good but they are fine.

I do not think they are scammers (never can be too sure about this) but they are definitely not great at what they do. They do not have much incentives to use their websites so people that are using exchanges like binance or bittrex do not really look at cryptopia and say maybe I should switch. I for example used poloniex for years and barely started to move to bittrex when binance came out and moved to binance quickly.

Cryptopia do not have that extra features or marketing to make you feel like doing that switch to them.

There is no deep liquidity in Cryptopia compared to competitors (Binance,Poloniex).  I still use their exchange starting from last year but withdrawal is  totally headache. Last withdrawal was continued more than 2 day and this was enough to stop trading there. If you know better alternative go for it,for other cases Cryptopia can be useful for small turnover.

By the time it got hacked, I lost my faith in Cryptopia. I may still try to trade some coins there but I am very discouraged to do so due to the recent events.

I would suggest you not to use the site for now unless the issue will be settled since the hacking of their site is still questionable for mostly says its an inside job,,but we dont really know what happens so for your own safety prevent from engaging to cryptopia for now

I only have an account there definitely don't make use of it to trade in daily basis, I do see all the FUD been said about them I won't recommend it for a newbies who wants to start trading.

I don't think we are never going to see cryptopia again because it been a setup from themselves to exit scam in smart way.If this is real then why didn't reveal any reports about the lost funds due to the security breach.

Till date I've used several exchanges. One amongst is cryptopia, which too got more small volume coins listed and those weren't available with other exchanges. Everything used to take place in a smooth manner withour flaws. With God's grace I didn't had any fund in the exchange while the attack took place.

I used Cryptopia, and so far, I don't have any problem until the site has offline. I don't have many coins in these sites. Usually, when one big exchange wants to delist the coin, that coin will move to the small exchange and enter the market. Besides that, I don't use Cryptopia as my daily or weekly trades, so I don't always check my coins daily. Right now, Cryptopia was offline and in the homepage telling about the information.

I have registered there some time ago but didn't actually use it. To my knowledge it was hacked twice a couple of days ago and just like 2-3 days ago again from the same wallets. Probably people don't follow the news and don't care. If you like holding the tokens on the exchange you better secure your account with all possible features offered by an exchange especially 2FA protection, if you hesitate such features you'd better use decentralized exchanges like IDEX, DexAge, EtherDelta and so on. For example the concept of DexAge is to make a crypto to fiat p2p trade, order and done. If you need to make such operations and keep your funds safe on Cold Storage this option would be better for you.

Its been a weeks that cryptopia was under maintenance now, where most of the traders can't able to make trade to their exchange platform.
I don't know how long they will remain like this. But in my opinion, there are lot of good platform who are better than cryptopia just like Binance, kucoin, Coinbene and more..

I never expect that this going to happen with cryptopia, because since I've transact successfully last two years there's no problem at all. The situation was very unexpected and it gathered lots of reaction which really affected more holders whom entrust their funds at this exchange site. Hopefully their system will be fixed soon so that worries and anxieties will be eliminated, and I know more of the traders now suffers from depression due to this circumstances.

And till date, No one is talking about what happens to affected users. Whether or not they'll be compensated for their losses. I did use Cryptopia in the past but moved to Binance as I wasn't really enjoying Cryptopia's interface and the security of the exchange was quite poor leaving room for hackers to get room... And they did.

Cryptopia was one of the recommended exchange for new people who wants to get experience in trading because, in that site, they are learning to analyze the market. Besides that, the trade in that site is not moving too fast so it will help the beginner to understand what they need to do. But right now, I don't think cryptopia is recommended anymore since if you visit on the site, it says the site was maintenance, and I don't know when it's finished. So I won't recommend Cryptopia to trade right now, and it's better you try with Binance only.

Cryptopia just back to online after 1,5 month offline cause of hack, but the trading activity still paused. According to their update in twitter they will manage the exchange to be much better and i think they can do that because they have alot of experience and operated more than 4 years.

Cryptopia was a good exchange and I used to trade in it for low volume coins. Also many low volume coins were present only on Cryptopia due to which many people had to trade there. But then early this year they were hacked. The good news is that their website is back online but it is on maintenance mode. Many people will withdraw their funds from there once the site is fully functional.

That's an awful experience.I know that safety is a main point for every exchange base and trading platform. Btw, if you want to find really safe and reliable platform i'd strongly recommend you to use Monfex.They have 20X leverage and the ability to go long and short on 12 coins.
