I think I found a picture of djslick  Grin

In all seriousness, I feel you man. This stuff can be frustrating. I'm not interested in continuing a debate that simply involves speculation on both sides. At the end of the day, only you can decide what's best for you while remaining within your comfort level. If it makes you feel any better, the devs haven't appeared to have moved any of their coins. If they didn't intend to follow through on this stuff the joke would certainly be on them more than anybody.

I've always been realistic about OctoCoin but tend to believe our concerns will eventually be squashed.

how did you get that picture of me?  Grin  pure speculation!

lol as if i'd ever be caught wearing a tie, that almost makes me look half dignified. i just sit at home playing videogames all day, in reality i'm much closer to this:

however this is the internet. everyone lies. all i have to do is apply the slick veneer of the 1980's and BAM:

look at me! totally legit!

okay that's a poor representation of my frustration, but the point still stands, everything on the internet is bullshit until proven true. nothing i've seen shows a shred of evidence that any of these octo pipe-dreams are legit, the best we have is idle speculation.

i have not read anywhere that octocoin has posted that they're funded by this particular group of angel investors, what exactly they're investing in, who, what, where, why when etc. i'll look into this further, but i tend to go off of the horse's mouth for information, and unless i've missed a post, i've never read anywhere that octocoin has posted on here or their website about this group and their plans.

none of this takes away from my argument. they're saying they'll be more communicative, release projects, and respect their community. none of these things have happened. just more rhetoric and execu-speak. we're being treated like mushrooms, they're feeding us shit and keeping us in the dark.

and for the record, this isn't revealing my stance as an investor, nor would i assume that anyone would read my words and immediately dump. what i want to see is the other investors like me all stop apologizing for them. of course i know that they haven't sold their octo, that there's a good chance that they're hard at work doing whatever it is they've been doing for the last 6 months, i'd like to revel in their hard work and not have to play the bad guy here.

but common sense dictates to me that praising something with ZERO evidence is akin to a religious cult. how as a community have we been reacting to their denial of any news at all for 6 months? with lavish praise? a small teaser campaign for octohub and we all blow our loads? I think that we all deep down know that we're letting them off the hook far too easily, where other coin devs would have been butchered alive 2 weeks after launch with no news.

honestly, if it were my own coin, i would want to wait to launch everything at the same time before it has a chance to get pumped so that it's not dumped once the services go live. imo the mantra "buy on rumor, sell on news" comes true far too often in crypto. and if they're trying to avoid that altogether i understand that! as a living breathing adult sentient human i can comprehend that (quelle surprise). don't we deserve to be treated with at least that much dignity?

GIVE US SOMETHING.

Personally I don't see the problem. Everything djslick has said (with syncsams backing) is true, and it always has been. This time last month or the month before we were in the same position, sparse communication from the devs about long term plans, that's all we have and all we've had before now. My point being that demanding something NOW is rather arbitrary.

When we bought into this we speculated and we're still speculating now, there is no onus on the OctoDevs to make our money grow; that's our job. They've created a project/opportunity that we jumped on board with and it's their prerogative to develop it in their own time, on their schedule with whatever communication they like in any manner they choose. And that has always been the case.

We can almost certainly all agree that things could have been clearer/faster/more communicative etc but just because it *could* be doesn't necessarily mean it *should* . At the end of the day we don't know enough about what is going on behind the scenes to make that judgement.

(yes, yes they could tell us more, and one day we'll probably find out but as I said before we don't know (and never have) what guides their actions).

We're all risking something in here and ultimately we call our own shots. What we don't get to do is call shots for others... Keep or dump, post or don't, release pics/apps or wait.

so then what is the right time to finally say: "we've had enough"? just because we've put up with it so far doesn't give us a life sentence for broken promises and no evidence of activity. yes it's totally arbitrary that I've personally come to this conclusion lately, but it's just an observation, weather it takes people a day or a year to see it, it's an observation of truth and deserves to be commented on.

i don't want the "something" they should give to be something that's not ready for primetime, i don't want to damage the coin obviously, i agree that the projects should come out when they're ready %100, i've never waivered on that. i'm not saying that they should just release a product because i said so, i just expect them to keep to their own words!

there is an ocean of opportunity to show the world that they're doing SOMETHING. and yet we've still got nothing to prove that anything's been done. i didn't ask for planned updates or concrete things happening in certain timelines, THEY told us that! it is a bit late yes, but better late then never. let's hold their feet to the fire and show some solidarity that we're not happy with the latest (2 months in particular) turn of events (or lack thereof).

tough love baby.

actually, whether they tell us anything now or not, doesn't make a difference at this point.
Millions of octocoins are in the hands of all the members within this thread.
Even if the develolpers would tell us the project has died, there's no volume at exchanges and no one to buy from us either. Already at this point it's impossible to sell more than a few 1000 octo, let alone a few million...

What I'm trying to say is: Our investment is gone, no matter if we get a screenshot now, or the full octo empire in a few weeks, there's little we can do from now on. Just relax, grab some popcorn and enjoy the show... (well, if the curtain ever opens)

when you click the link above you can view that month. there was nothing. but it could have been under another name as a software company.

also, the seattle group may not be exactly the same as angels but maybe a branch off. i am still trying to figure that out.

tough love baby.

It's your/my/anyones choice when to say "we've had enough". And it's fine. We couldn't cut and run if we wanted to (as I suspect many can't). We're left with writing it off, dumping what the markets will take (not a lot) or holding until the project comes to fruition.

1) If we're dumping we'll take the measly BTC0.15 on bitrex and run.
2) If we're holding we'll keep the coins and wait for news, probably til (3) because (1) is not worth it.
3) If we're writing it off we don't care about my holdings so stop checking the news.*

I guess I don't think the coins are worth the investment unless they deliver, so I'd rather write off the investment than try to cash out for pennies while there is potential. And I think I'd personally hold for another 6 months keeping an eye one the news before giving up. I think "we've had enough" is when people move from (2) to (1) or (3). Although I'd prefer that not to happen I don't think the devs will be sped up if people do...

*then after a few years throw away my hard drive to find out weeks later the 888 on it are worth £1 each Wink

dj slick, no shit, it is speculation... that's what i said. i said IF these are the backers there's a good chance that the outcome will be good no matter what.

at least some of us here are looking for answers and having these conversations.

all you wanna do is set on here and complain.

how about you SHOW ME SOMETHING>>

exactly.... you have no proof about anything... you just SPECULATE that it's a scam or that the devs are incompetent...

you are just as much a speculator as anyone looking through the info i've posted.

show me some proof that they are scamming us? SHOW ME! exactly.. fucking jeezus.

how bout this.... you don't like the way they are doing shit... get you enough hash power and 51% that blockchain and you take that shit over and show us all how it should be done.... and you better turn us a motherfucking profit.

I think one thing we can write off is that the Devs are incompetent. If there is a problem, they always act fast and sort things out in a way most so called "Devs" of other coins wouldn't even be capable of. They know what they are doing from a programmers point of view.

i agree and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that opinion. for the most part i'm just giving you a hard time and saying that i really think that the devs are backed by this group. hope i'm right. if i am Octo could be way larger than even what we first expected.... for now i'm holding and just digging for more info Smiley

again, i've not said a word about selling off, cutting and running etc. I, like anyone else invested in this coin understand that there's nowhere to go because we have no volume. my point is that it's okay to be fed up about being fed shit and kept in the dark. you can all go back to blissful banter and i'll just stew in the corner. anyone who's followed me from day one knows that i'm a huge octo supporter, and deep down i still am, but right now with the state of how this community is being treated by the devs, i'm fed up and had about enough. as i've said multiple times this is one of the if not the best crypto community i've ever seen.

we deserve far better.
