Lightning network which is not discussed here is also very important to consider although it is still in development.
It is definitely important, but there's not much to say about it other than that it's slowly picking up. Segwit adoption means an actual benefit for the user since 99.9% of all the participants within Bitcoin's ecosystem transact on-chain.

I guess they account for like 25% of the ecosystem. In other words, 70-75% network support seems to be the most realistic target before the end of 2019. Everything that we gain over 75% is a bonus in my book.
