ICOs are not dying off, what I see and understand is that the good ICOs are been filtered while the craps are thrown out of the system, When ever reputable project emerges, it get funded.

surely it's been dying out steadily all year since the dump, and now with ETH vs EOS and ETH also appearing as an unsteady choice, many ICOs probably are a bit scared to even take funding currently (supposedly to be legally doing it properly they have to hold the eth?)

They are not dying just not have enough preparation to face market condition in long term period, not just ICO but all trader and investor already have the same situation. ICO need good market condition to grow up and if this condition running for long term period, there's opportunity they will die. Many people still have faith about crypto and I believe ICO to, for this one please keep positive thinking and good luck for all of us.

It’s been a market funded by scams and manipulation for quite some time now. I think newbies are finally getting fatigue of burning their money in pursuit of easy profits.

Og has the idea.

Most of the icos were created during last year's bubble as people wanted to capitalize and take advantage of all the money entering the bubble. It worked for a lot of ICOs. There was millions upon millions wasted last year due to icos.

Now that it has died down this year we aren't seeing as much activity but there is still some. ICOs are a waste of money. You're better off waiting for the coin to hit the market cause it's hard to tell whether or not something is a scam as most don't even make it to an exchange. It's a risky business going into an ico. I paid money for one ico, and never will make that mistake again.

The market has stagnated somewhat which is contributing to less funds being raised by crowdsales overall but once things start to pick up again this will change plus more realistic funding targets amongst other things are required for the industry to expand further

At the first stage of 2018 almost all ICO projects are becoming fake or scam that give doubt for the other ICO investors. Many people are creating ICO scam but it doesn't mean that ICO's dying off, you need to be wise and analyze everything about the project to avoid scam project.

This is not ico die, and investor confidence falls when so many scammers. Less funding, more checks, and of course a blow to the bear market for investment capital. There are still enough clones, and recently the UAE has made Ico as an asset, so they are developing even more.

ICO's are definitely not raising the amounts of money as they use to during the last couple of years.  There are many projects that are cheap and have been major releases.  People are more interested in investing in these types of projects over an ICO.

This does not makes any sense.
ICOs do had a major implementation and visibility during Q4 2017, which also gave birth to a lot of scammers and which eventually moved a lot of investors away from ICO. They now instead are more interested in investing in project after listing. One more major reason for this is that the ICO project token price are flowing way below the listing price after listing this is due to the bear market.
Taking all in consideration, ICOs do have received a major HIT, however, ICOs are the most effective practice for projects based on blockchain to raise funds. Last year was just the beginning, this year is the correction and refinement and coming years should be fruitful, thats my theory.  Smiley

As of now. Yes.
ICOs as of current time are mostly populated by either a scam, just an absurd idea on someones mind, a impractical idea from a team without experience.
ICOs need to have some works done before investors would believe on them. Just bringing up an website and whitepaper is not going to yield anything for now.

The market outlook had not been too favorable as such funding and investing in ICOs had dropped considerable even reaching Soft Cap had not been quite easy for most of the ICOs while many struggled to reach Soft Cap others has to back out citing the bearish market of Cryptos as the major reason for taking such action.

Why many ICO project are hard to reach the softcap? Because most of the ICO investors are temporarily stay away to invest in it, why? Because nowadays a lot of ICO running in crypto is scam.

The ico trends depend on the trend of crypto. Remember when it was on the bullish trend and it's so easy to the ico to get a lot of money and hype. When the market is on the bearish trend and it looks so easy for them all to secure their money rather than investing in the ico. there are only putting a little money on ico to bet on it.

People are wiser now and understands what ICOs really are. Before majority thinks that just invest on it and your money will multiple easily without doing anything. That's the return of the projects that you're going to invest but today its different. Unlike before you can still have above ICO price when the coin is listed to an exchange but now everyone is racing to dump it. Can't blame the people of having this attitude now towards ICOs because many of them now is only built to scam.

ICO's are not dying nowadays they are just observing or waiting for the market to get stable. Launching ICO's in an unstable situation may result in a possible crash or project may not reach it's target and will be degraded by some investors which will lead into possible failure. ICO's are still alive and kicking nowadays but most of them runs in the Ethereum platform which is pretty common nowadays.

I think ICO do not die, but go to another level. A bounty dies - that's for sure. And ICO is switching to a different way to attract investors, to private sales.

if u look at the stats, new icos are still coming in at a steady pace, but it's a congested space...new solid teams and concepts are few and far between
