I hear the explanation of what I bolded above a lot.  Transaction fees are pretty damn low, so there's really no reason why funds should be pooled--and given that blockchain transactions are the only good way to prove accounts are connected, people shouldn't be doing this.

Family and friends are their excuses. Of course, even if are family members, I usually don't tell them about my real account on the Internet. Sometimes it is very interesting to chat with my family as a online stranger.
So in my opinion, even if Oralie9 and his alts are really family/friends, they can only show that they are a spam army, which does not affect their account is forbidden.

When a number of his accounts got spotted he said that all of those are different people who happen to be using his house to connect to bitcointalk and farm signature campaigns.

"favours" is my younger brother's account, we both live in in the same house, and sometimes use each others' accounts. He is 15, I am 19.

And thank you for showing me the ID thing, I need to have a chat with him about that. I suspect he was trying to get into one of my exchange accounts for something that I did to him, personal stuff, but mainly petty brother-sister feuds.

Yeah, along with "I lent my account to ____" excuse.  It's pretty much the same thing, but even members like aTriz have used it for things other than plagiarism.  Don't know about anyone else, but I have an extremely small circle of family and friends, and there's no way anyone I know would be using my account--if they even knew what it was to begin with.  No one I know would have any reason to do anything other than log me off if they found my computer on and bitcointalk.org pulled up on the screen.  They certainly would not make a post that was copied from somewhere with no source.  How ridiculous is that?

Unfortunately (for them), these people think they're being clever by using these excuses.  They probably think they invented them and that people are going to believe whatever idiotic story they tell them.

I remember that one.  It's sad, but part of me thinks situations like that really do exist in poor countries where bitcointalk's potential for providing a living wage spreads like wildfire through word of mouth. 

I'm sure they do, but that one was bullshit because they started the sentences with the same thing and just regurgitated the same post but reworded slightly, so they all just belonged to one person who got a bit ahead of himself. If there already isn't some sort of offices set up to farm bounties then I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they actually will be, but we're already seeing proof of it in a small scale at least with the picture you were sent of the group of people posting away. These things will naturally grow and expand like any business or industry especially when the money is too good and easy to earn. The merit system has made things a little bit more difficult for them as you now can't just create as many accounts as you want and rise them through the ranks merely over time, but they're still going to find ways around it like buying merit and trading it between themselves etc and we've already seen multiple cases of that as well.  Punishing signature campaigns obviously needs to be the next step because trash posters just shouldn't be getting paid in the first place and that's the source of the issue here.
