I really get bored of these accusations.. Like euro dollar and yen aren't being used to do illegal things..
What's next, ban encryption because it could aid in helping criminals exchanging child porn? Roll Eyes

Isn't the bitcoin foundation supposed to now put out press releases condeming child porn?  I have no say in the matter since I never donated.  Nevertheless,  as a bitcoin user I am opposed to child porn.

This is one of the uses but not the only use remembers the whole Senate Committee with the panelist from the Center for Exploited and Missing Children and how he was fair and saw the potential of the technology even though he would seem like the most bias one
Nice job article *Facepalm*
But considering this is the UK who even has the goal of an op in porn ban because we need to think of the children aka a load of bollocks
This is not to be unexpected
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/11/23/britain-s-idiotic-opt-in-porn-ban.html
Also it extended beyond porn
http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/202876/uks-porn-ban-censors-way-more-than-just-porn/
Or this one
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/03/david-cameron-internet-porn-filter-censorship-creep
I guess I feel like trolling David Cameron a bit
Even his loyal secretary violated the law guess his policy advice to allow porn in general went unheeded (Man this would be a deadly type of political blackmail) Follow me or I'll arrest you on porn violation charges because I don't like your opinion

I guess bitcoin isn't dying as predicted by the media. How embarrassing for them.
Still, they can play the old child porn card I suppose.

Yah seriously, if there's one thing I'd expect a bitcoin trade group -- such as The bitoin foundtion -- to do, it would dealing with PR stuff like this.  The fact that The bitcoin foundation continually balks at opportunities like this is definitely one of the top three reasons I don't give them money.

The printing press heralded the end of the Dark Ages and made the Enlightenment possible, but it took another three centuries before any country managed to put freedom of the press beyond the reach of legislators.  So it may take a while before cryptocurrencies are free of the AML-NSA-KYC surveillance plague.

Fiat is also used for such purposes. Why no one is asking for a ban on fiat?

This is the first time i heard of a case where this happened. I don't think it will affect the public discourse since child pornography is already frequently mentioned alongside money laundering and financing terrorism.

Euros are being used by children to buy AK47s. What the Hell, VICE?

They did a fantastic video miniseries on various places you want to see but not physically visit, though, which I recommend to everyone. I'm now starting to doubt whether there was any factual accuracy and even wondering if they went to places they claimed, but it's still entertaining.
