Aside from having this "trade with caution" tag and not being accepted from most bounty campaigns, are there other punishment/s given to a forum member with negative merit/s? Do they get a temporary ban from posting?

Edit: negative trust (not negative merit)

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

How do you even get negative merits? Are you some sort of wizard?

I don't really get your question to be honest either.

edit: Thanks for clarifying AdolfinWolf, I didn't really get what he was saying, though like AdolfinWolf said, moderators don't regulate scam, so the DT members just tag the people who are untrustworthy.

I think he is referring to negative trust.

Not that i'm aware of.

The forum doesn't moderate scams/scammers. The community (DT rather..) does. It'd be weird to have forumwide implications (a ban), on something that has been decided by the community (DT2+), when the forum explicitely states that this isn't actively moderated..

The forum deliberately loads that little bit slower, so just as they are about to click on a link to the next page, everything jumps and they end up clicking on a signature link to some trash ICO instead.

I saw the name of the topic and immediately theories began to emerge in my head about how exactly negative merit could be applied. Would the number of "negative" merit be subtracted from the number of "positive" merit, or would it be a separate graph, like the estimates in youtube: "I like it" and "I don`t like it", so that these two columns would represent the number of supporters and opponents of one or another opinion. But it turned out that the question concerned only negative trust ...

THe negative trust are given for the scammers and the people with untrustwirthy behaviour so they can still continue to post with the negative trusts as well, only the temporary ban will be imposed if they are spamming too much or trolling someone.

OP, you should edit your thread title, because its not about merits but about trust from what I can see you asking.

The people with negative trust dont have any restrictions unless they earn restrictions. Based on trust settings their accounts will be shown as a negative rated account from other people who have in their trust list, the person who gave negative trust to that said account.

Getting a ban is when people break forum rules. Thats not related to trust, in other words, trust and bans are totally separate things - dont confuse the two.

Threat title edited.

Apologies for the confusion and thanks for all the the input.

I was thinking that would be another way to lessen possible spammers but I see now that it's going to be a lot of work also for forum moderators to monitor them all.

The main thing about negative trust is that you'll have a very hard time joining a signature campaign, since most campaigns have rules about not accepting members with negs from DT1/2 members.  Projects don't want members whose trust shows up as red advertising their ICO or whatever it is they're promoting--and that makes sense.

The other effect is that if you have negative trust it's harder to do deals on the forum, since many people are reluctant to trade with red-trusted folks.  On the other hand, it's not exactly the kiss of death as far as trading is concerned.  You see people getting scammed here all the time by members who already had red trust, so it's obvious many people don't even look at people's feedback.

I was thinking that would be another way to lessen possible spammers
Huh?  Negative trust doesn't have much to do with spamming.  That's more a merit issue than a trust one.  I think you might be getting those two things confused.

Unfortunately, many users with negative trust rating don't have problems to join bounty campaigns. There are still plenty of campaigns which accept red tagged members. Offcourse, people with negative trust rating lose chance to join serious bounty campaigns managed by professional managers or Bitcoin campaigns, but still, they can advertise shady ICO's to get some shitcoins or tokens.

No, they do not.
It's simple: ban or freedom.
