I don't think you should necessarily trust tether, they aren't really backed by anything and can create more of their currency whenever they want.  It's honestly somewhat concerning, I wouldn't keep much money in it for very long.

I doubt that there will be a collapse of the usd, I do not see just a reason to close the coin , now seems to be even possible from the usdt immediately withdraw to your card .
