On watching most of the debates, although I would have liked Bernie to be the Prez, but I guess the election boiled down to two liars and the one who could do so more convincingly won.
I blame Hillary for that one... she didn't even try Trump said all these things that were obvious lies, but at least he said them... not everyone knows a lie when they see it, and he convinced enough dopes that he would be a champion of LGBT rights, etc... obvious lies Hillary on the other hand, didn't even try... she didn't even pretend that she would be on the side of the working class... her only message was "vote for me, I have a vagina" I think she tried to the best of her abilities, and to most, that would indeed appear like she wasn't even trying. But the American people voted in the person that lied the least. Look at his follow through on campaign promises. Whatever facts you were presented with you'll always see Trump as the evil villain... |

Whatever facts you were presented with you'll always see Trump as the evil villain... Exactly this, if you were to actually go through all of the Trump campaigns promises you'd see that they've fulfilled a good deal of them with a RAZOR THIN majority in the Senate. He's done a great deal, but the people that hate him are just going to continue to hate him -- there's nothing that can be done to fix some peoples hate. That's just how it goes. |

He would take a hit from some powerful lobby groups in the prison and law enforcement industries, but this is a policy which has reached its time. All this division over Kavanaugh would melt in a haze of smoke and tax dollars. If he were to take this opportunity he could end 100 years of pain and destruction related to the prohibition of marijuana and truly make a great mark on American history. |

Though I do guess that the Federal government could just not have laws on it, and let the states set the laws without the federal government having any sort of ruling on it. Rather then the federal government legalizing it, and forcing states to legalize it as well -- if you understand what I mean on this. As I do think that this would keep the states rights conservatives happy, and open Trump up to a massive amount of love among moderates and liberals. |

While I do without a doubt agree with you on policy, I do think that he can keep his own people happy (the old style conservatives, not the modern ones) by simply having the federal gov not have a stance on marijuana and leaving it up to the states. The biggest issue with Marijuana policy is the issue of the government having differing stances. As marijuana shops (or any companies they do business with these places) can't use banks and are subject to RICO civil suites due to breaking federal code. If this federal code wasn't there, this would be a huge plus. Leave it up to the states, and take a huge win. That's my view at least. |

Taking cannabis products off the federal "Narcotics schedule" effectively does this. I believe that could be done by the agency, or by an executive order. It does not require legislation. That's very difficult because of the huge amounts of money going into the legal system from prosecuting these minor offenses. By now there is likely an established pro-marihuana lobbying effort in the District of Criminals, which will help. |

When the Ford case came out, the Democrats declared Kavanaugh guilty even before they heard the whole testimony and it's something that's going to hurt them in the long run in my opinion. They were ready to destroy him just because Trump nominated him. |
