I recently formatted my hard disk but I forgot to backup this one coin that I started mining recently. I only have it's public address now. I don't have the json file or private keys etc.

It was desktop wallet installed in C drive. I didn't delete the partitions.

So what are my options now to recover my balance. Any software that you guys know of ?

You just stop working on that harddisk and switch to other desktop and install data recovery software from online and add the formatted harddisk on the new computer as secondary harddisk and do data recovery of the formatted partition. This way you can recover your wallet files.

You can also visit https://www.techradar.com to get your file recovery software. There are softwares that work perfectly well there.
You can also lookout for the option of enquiring from Microsoft on any recommended file recovery software.
You need not to panic, you can still recover what you feel might have been lost.

You're right he can still recover the data but it will be better if he's more careful next time and EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard should be good for the data recovery for both the Cdrive and hard drive just select the formatted hard disk where you lost your data and click scan.

I've experienced that, in my opinion it's hard to recover, just suppose you get a disaster by losing money in your wallet.

Nothing is hard. I once deleted a 3-Gigabyte Outlook data archive and had it fully restored.  The main thing is to find good software.

Hi mate, i had a similar problem quite recently.   With easeus, the recovered result was corrupted for me.  I would suggest that you try recovering the lost file with Recuva and point to exactly where the file was located on your drive, then run a scan.   This was the only way in which i could recover an intact file after trying several way over a whole week.

You have to find a very good software like they said or just ask a company that's focused with data recovery.

Don't lose hope as long as you can pay the service, you are good enough to recover it. Just be sure that you can see on how they are going to recover the data or else, a tech would take advantage and curious what you want to recover and is aware of crypto's.

can you access your wallet? if you can, there should be a file available to back up your wallet. if there is no possibility you lose everything ... but don't give up you can ask your wallet developer first. Good luck.

that will not 100% successful, there will be a lot of corrupt files. This software will not help you a lot. I have tried.  When OP was deleting or format their data and the memory will erase all of the things, and it looks impossible if there will be a software that makes you able to recover all of your files without getting any corrupt file.

This would actually be your best bet at the moment, as in this way, if you are lucky, you may get to recover some of the files you have lost, and get to see your wallet backup.

There are some free driver recovery online though, but it would make a lot of sense to at least buy a very good one that would do a pretty good job for you instead, but depending on the outcome of this, whether it turned out positive or not, that would determine if you have lost it all or not. I have tried it before anyway, using Disk Drill recovery software and it was really effective.

Though it is hard to say wether you will be able recover the data fully or not, but you should not stop trying till the last moment. Find a good data recovery software and try to recover the data. If the software is good enough, you should be able recover almost all of your data.

If that hard disk drive has thousand of dollars to your name then I would say use professional help to retrieve whatever can be retrieved in that harddisk drive. Otherwise just do it again. I did some recovery work in the past and I would say it is painstakingly slow for me to determine which file is this and which file is that. Most recovery software will not even have the original names of the files it will just give it a filename then a number. So don't bother if your coin is worth low.

You can forget, nothing helps, no program, you need your keys stored on some kind of flash media and written in notebooks.

You dont need to worry much on that.
As long as the hard drive is working, even it is formatted with out no backup.
it can recover files from the past. you should seek a good person in computer to do that.
Or if you want you can search some facts for the guide.

The recovery can be done from online, there are different sites. Also, the file recovery also might bring you the saved files from your formatted hard disc.

This case will be an important lesson for the future. Always make backup copies of your data and store them not on the computer, for this it is better to have two flash drives, and the passwords are best stored on paper, also in duplicate. I wish you good luck and recover all lost data, most importantly do not give up quickly. Be smarter and more careful in the future!

All is not lost if you did not overwrite with that hard drive, in reality the data is always there and must be overwritten several times to really erase them, so your best option is to pass some data recovery software and hope for the best, I know of sites that are dedicated to that and have better tools, but are quite expensive to be a specialized job.
