In a poll here, taken just after the initial NewsWeek story was out, 80% didn't believe the hype. Us 1, MSM 0  Grin

This is why, we, the people, can succeed with our own open-source, transparent, independent, public ledger currency. Because crowd-sourcing works, and because most of us are basically smart, basically good, and basically intellectually honest.

Being smarter than the media isn't much to brag about.

Don't delude yourself by assuming that the whole community is smarter than the tabloids. The reality is that there are still morons and idiots here just as in anywhere else in the world.

Yes, there are lots of morons and trolls everywhere but the majority of people are smart and good and honest. Just IMHO of course, but it is my experience. I would not say the same about the majority of the corporate and gov't "elite."

Agree. Just "currency" can be replaced with "approach" or some better word. And we should not forget that Bitcoin is not just a currency.

A small bit of optimistic delusion is good for your sanity and improves the chances for success.

The OP said "can succeed" not even will succeed. Anyway important is to make morons count less - for example through meaningful and high activity level (which you seems good at btw)

80% doesn't believe, 20% panicked from whatever resaon and the price dropped a bit... This FUD never does anything good, that reporter should face some consequences.
