Yesterday I wrote up a roughly chronological 15-point master plan for the rest of the year. Work which will be used toward a pod miner were included in items 1-3, 6, 10, 12 and 14. There's development for some other fun stuff in there that I hope y'all also like.

I think my body is tingling.

As promised I got the sipolar 10 port hub today.

I am running 9 sticks

2x Newpac
1x 2Pac
6x Compac

I am using VH's miner 4.11

here is bat

Code:
cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.bravo-mining.com:3333 -u philipma1957.two --gekko-compac-freq 200 --gekko-2pac-freq 200 --gekko-newpac-freq 200 -p x

note all sticks at set to freq 200

https://i.imgur.com/e1vXyJR.png

Phil - it looks like you're missing the AsicBoost option in your command line. Don't forget to add the following flag to enable AsicBoost:  --gekko-newpac-boost

Your code should look like this:

Code:
cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.bravo-mining.com:3333 -u philipma1957.two --gekko-compac-freq 200 --gekko-2pac-freq 200 --gekko-newpac-freq 200 -p x --gekko-newpac-boost

ASICBoost only works on NewPacs, but for them it reduces power consumption by 10% and cuts down on USB traffic by roughly 70% and both of those are good things.

Cool, quiet and up to 1TH pod miner, on sale now!

Not sure if I should post this here but.....

419mining is an excellent company to do business with. Ordered 2x Newpacs and plugable hub shipped to the UK. Not only did they deal with me direct through DM’s but they went above and beyond to ship across the pond even though they didnt initially offer that particular postal service. The gear was well packed and also came with a cgminer printout of the two Newpacs which I thought was a very professional touch. Would highly recommend them to anyone considering buying any gear from them. Superb!! Thanks again.

I noticed an eBay 10% coupon today.

I may grab a 4th one.

Would have been nice to get these sticks last fall.

Oh well.

You and me both, man. However, this time last fall my entire crew (including a fresh hire brought in specifically to meet demand) were up to our eyeballs getting 2pacs out the door. Seriously, we doubled manufacturing output between September and November; the three weeks following Thanksgiving, my people put together more sticks than we did in August and September combined and still had a one-month backlog. I had exactly zero time to start working on anything new until earlier this year.

Demand has slowed now, and my crew can pretty much do everything without me (unless something goes wrong), so I finally have that R&D time. Even so, these sticks were released several months later than desired.

They're here now and that's all that matters. Onto bigger and better things from here!

Wow at 100 these run hot. I'll have to down clock for portability as I like to mine on my laptop or surface with the 2pac. Other than some sensitive finger tips though I'm camping happy.

Work which will be used toward a pod miner were included in items 1-3, 6, 10, 12 and 14.

If you can make a pod miner with the efficiency of the newpac's,  I'm interested in it even if bitcoin does go back 1.5k.

I expect the efficiency to be better. The worst-case efficiency with the chips I'd be using is on par with the best-case (meaning, bottom voltage and AB enabled) for the NewPac's BM1387. Couple that with only one regulation step (12V->5V instead of 12V->5V->0.83V) at a higher efficiency (upwards of 95%) and it should be markedly better.

yeah I got a meter on the stick at the plug 1.1 to 1.3 amps at 5.1 volts  that would be 5.61 to 6.63 watts at the usb plug.

at the kwatt meter 24.2/3 = 8.0667 watts so  82 % efficient at the high number 70% at the low since it fluxes  say 76% eff.  from wall to usb plug.

if it were 95% or even 90 %  these sticks would be at 21 watts not 24 watts   maybe 20 watts at the kill-a-watt

since they could do 57-60 gh at freq 250

I could do 180gh at 20 watts
Not 180gh at 24-25 watts

3 sticks

Still seeing "missing nonces" and "reset" even after trying at 100MHz and one at a time in the plugable. Do I need to turn the dial clock or counter-clock to dial in wattage for stability?

While this may not be your issue, I found it the hard way. You may want to check to see if your USB controller is and "Intel USB 3.0 eXensible Host Controller". It was a problem with the 2PAC's and the NewPac looks to be experiencing the same issue.

I've found that I have to run at 75 otherwise the unit get's to hot and like in the support thread says it will throw an error to protect your hardware. This is passive cooled, so no fan being used.

With these sticks, a little bit of cooling goes a long long way. Note that the uncooled 100MHz power draw and the slightly-cooled 200MHz power draw are pretty much the same. My six 650MHz sticks (drawing 14W each) were collectively cooled by a single 12V/200mA fan.

Also note that these guys can be sensitive to extended overheating. Bake the chips too much and they may never work right again.
