Let's create a fictitious scenario where Satoshi sends a message in a way that can be validated/verified < PGP key > and he notify all of us that he is bankrupt and has no access to his coins.

If this is verified, would you send bitcoins to Satoshi, like people did with Andreas Antonopoulos?

We have seen people sending tips to Satoshi's known Bitcoin addresses and to date, bitcoin’s maiden address has received 16.7 BTC in tips, worth around $107 600. <This has never been claimed>

Will you send bitcoins and if you do, why?

If you will not send bitcoins. Why?

If that did happen and if I was in the situation where I had enough bitcoin for myself then sure why not, after all he or she was the one that allowed me to gain my wealth so giving back would be a good thing.

If I become a bitcoin millionaire,I would send half of my bitcoins to him(after he verifies that he is the real Satoshi). Grin
I guy like Satoshi Nakamoto can't be broke.People with programming skills and full stack developers are in big demand and usually their salary is pretty high.
I wonder about something more important. Is Satoshi still alive?

it is a bad scenario because in reality that is not what happens.
in reality we have a lot of lazy copy pasters who call themselves developers and demand payment because they created some shitcoin. i have even heard in multiple cases that they use Satoshi as a way to justify their own actions. they even called bitcoin premined!!! and compared it with their own premine to justify that by saying Satoshi premined bitcoin so they also did the same.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

There are a lot of bitcoins donated to this forum which theymos looks after. It might be possible that satoshi reclaims his forum back and takes control of those bitcoins. Doubt that would happen but this is fictitious scenarios we are discussing

A lot will probably do send btc for him. He has millions of BTC so sad if he forgot its access.
I don't know if he likes being interviewed after all he hid himself I would assume he doesn't but tech companies will invite him or a talkshow  will interview him and he will get more btc for it. There are a lot of things to talk with Satoshi I think a whole season of Episodes will cover the entire year for him, he won't be bankrupt any more. Smiley

If me i wouldn't send anything because maybe Satoshi wouldn't care about it. But it is good to make us remember that "this is satoshi's address, someone who really help our life with his bitcoin". It is good to think about that than must send some amount of bitcoin.

Intresting Scenario!

If such a situation arise, I would certainly send some Bitcoins.

I would not want the creator of Bitcoin to be bankrupt. It is because of him that I am into Cryptocurrency and this forum. How can I leave him helpless?

If the exact scenario happens where we can verify that the address belongs to Satoshi, I would personally send some bitcoins to him. I won't term that transaction as a tip, instead I will call it as a gratitude towards the most important innovator of our time! Because of bitcoin, we are having an incredible life. A lot of people around the world are able to take care of themselves without having a day job. I think Mr. Satoshi deserves at least that respect! So yes, I will be one of the persons who will be sending him gratitude!

First of all not sure that Satoshi will be bankrupt as your fictious story, and if it's happend we need to figure it out is he was really bankrupt and need our help, would be a lot of news that will talk about the fall down of Satoshi of course. Then if all of those fact was real and I do have much coins to share I would be so pleasure to help him up again, and I think a lot of other bitcoiners also want to do the same thing.

yeah, why not. I have made donations to others that have done far less so why not Satoshi.

BUT I have to first be pretty damn sure that it is the real Satoshi and not some imposter trying to fool us into giving him free money. and that has happened so many times so far that even if the real Satoshi does come out it will be hard for him to really prove his identity. even keys can be leaked and may not be enough to prove anything anymore.

If the identity is verified but the message goes that he can't access his coins, I won't. Firstly, why would a man with that level of intelligence ask for donation if he could obviously work his way to riches by just.. working? Secondly, why broadcast to the world that you're bankrupt and needing some help financially? Lastly, these identifiers can be compromised easily if someone close to him turned their banks on the guy and just decided to use the identity for personal gains.

I admire the man's genius and amazed by his opus, but that doesn't mean that I'll give him something just because he says he need it. It might sound blunt but at this day and age, you'll never know.

Well to me it will be like God telling us all hes broke. I can he went bankrupt.? for me I will not believe this too much because there are a lot of crazy people out there who can make lies look very real. I will probabaly send some bitcoin to him but I will not put too much on it because it might not be true. by the way where is the guy. We are not even sure maybe satoshi is someone or a group of people. anyway if satoshi is still be alive I wont advise him to reveal identity because alot of haters out there will go after him

If you will not send bitcoins. Why?

It would be necessary for everyone to understand that this Bitcoin genesis address has never been added to the blockchain. Actually, this is why it has a zero index.

All donations to this address will remain there forever.

A person can afford to write his address in the history, but given that Bitcoin is anonymous - donation becomes useless.

This is one question that made me think of the possibility that satoshi is really exist. Well, one of these is my option. One is i will donate some of my coins to satoshi if he really have nothing left (which is not possible i think, that he will be in bankruptcy due he is the founder of bitcoin, if this is true).  The other option is i will signal him to share some of his bitcoin to somehow eliminate poverty. Maybe my second option is not possible but its just my hope that i want in real.

Many people are grateful to him for creating such a unique technology ! But people are unlikely to send him more money. I would have thrown off a little but how do you know that his address is not a Scam ?

satoshi never went bankrupt, but if it's in a fictitious story, then I will help him, I will send some little of bitcoin.

or I will announce to my bitcoin community to make a donation for Satoshi.

Sending bitcoin to inaccessible address will further limit the supply and that would somehow benefit every other holder in the future. I might donate some as well  Grin

Well if I have plenty of money why not specially if I am earning in something that he/she created,
But I think I wouldn't send some right now since I really need the money and I think that he is already wealthy .

I do not see the need to send money to those who have them in large quantities. It is better to send them to hungry homeless children.

Why?
That's a kind of interesting question. I usually do some little beneficence but in this case it would be different because I may become quite wealthy thanks to him, so if we are 100% sure that's him and he actually needs help then yes, I would send him a small amount of BTC as a way to thank him.

You already know that it is a scam if ever satoshi will ask bitcoin from us. He never touched his bitcoin before, so I think he is doing well. And there is no way we can  verify if he really is the real satoshi. Hypothetical or not, I will not give a part of my bitcoin to someone I cannot know for sure is the real satoshi.

Since mister satoshi has probably never moved his own bitcoins, it is actually unnecessary to send him any but a big thank-you mail would be appropriate i guess Wink

The creator of the post wants you to assume the identity of Satoshi has been verified and there is no doubt about it.
Any way, I personally will do that. He has provided a great opportunity for us.

If this would happen well this just depends on a certain person if they would believe this scenario, and i think i will never do this because Satoshi Nakamoto never acknowledged himself until now that he is the creator of bitcoin and still remain anonymous.Only scammers do this and i would never let anyone fooled me because of simple message, anyone could do claim that they were Satoshi.

Yes, it is a big fiction! But If it really happens in real, then I will send 90% of my bitcoin to the Satoshi's wallet. I can not express how grateful I am to him! He is my inspiration! Such a great technology he started! I will send 90% because I will have a lot of opportunities to earn in the future, even I will not care about my 10 %! I know my sounds may seem childish, But Really I feel like that!

If you will not send bitcoins. Why?

Because that would be very strange, I mean he creates bitcoin and he knows that the supply of bitcoin is limited and the more bitcoin demand is, the higher the price will be. so it would be more logical for him to buy many bitcoin and be rich, but if he went to bankruptcy means he did not believe in bitcoin and did not know how to manage his finances, I would not give him bitcoin, I would give him Fiat

satoshi is the person who is most instrumental in creating bitcoin, with bitcoin, then created altcoin, and with all that, our lives are getting better, bitcoin volatility is always increasing every year.

then, if I hear satoshi experienced bankrupt, of course, I will help Satoshi by sending a bit of bitcoin to his address. and that is my thanks to him.

Well since bitcoin had helped me when I was down, of course I will donate some to help, but only if I could verify that it's a real Satoshi account, Satoshi deserve a reward for introducing and creating bitcoin, so when the person in trouble there is nothing wrong to help the person because the crypto had save many life and create more income for a lot of people

Why not? he helped a lot of us here to become financially free and expect something in the future. I little help wouldn't hurt our bitcoin holding if we're going to send him a bit of it only if he verifies himself.

It's one of the best situation that he speaks that way, at least we have now an idea that he's still alive and kicking. And that's possible that one day he'll expose himself/herself/themselves on who they really are. A chunk to my life saving is fine just for him.  Smiley

hell no, i'm a greedy bastard. i'm a hoarder and it takes a lot to pry bitcoins from my wallet. i didn't send nothing to andreas either. Wink

maybe if i were rich......

plus, i'd be pretty damn skeptical. if he could sign messages from very early miner addresses, he has access to coins. we could easily be defrauded by other methods of authenticating him like old email access or PGP key. these can be compromised.

Wow, Mr Scrooge.  Shocked  You are luckily in the minority around here, because Satoshi was the one that started this and most of the people can thank him or her for the wealth that they accumulated in Bitcoin.  Tongue

Logically a talented person like Satoshi would never have to beg for handouts, because Satoshi has a wealth of programming knowledge to provide for the basic needs, but he might not want to use those skills, because someone might identify him though that code.  Roll Eyes

It is very good if we send Bitcoin back to Satoshi especially Satoshi has bankruptcy without him. Bitcoin certainly doesn't exist at the moment, but I have to be honest until now I don't have bitcoin so I can't send bitcoin to Satoshi once again. I apologize.

hell no, i'm a greedy bastard. i'm a hoarder and it takes a lot to pry bitcoins from my wallet. i didn't send nothing to andreas either. Wink

maybe if i were rich......

plus, i'd be pretty damn skeptical. if he could sign messages from very early miner addresses, he has access to coins. we could easily be defrauded by other methods of authenticating him like old email access or PGP key. these can be compromised.

Wow, Mr Scrooge.  Shocked  You are luckily in the minority around here, because Satoshi was the one that started this and most of the people can thank him or her for the wealth that they accumulated in Bitcoin.  Tongue

maybe that came off a bit harsh. Grin

in all honestly, i'm generous in most situations---cash, food, weed, whatever. but i get pretty greedy when it comes to my bitcoins. i feel like my mentality around spending bitcoins vs anything else is a real life example of gresham's law. over the years, i've lost a lot of coins by spending them and being unable to reaccumulate (because of higher prices).

i don't think satoshi wanted to profit from bitcoin anyway. i think it was a selfless attempt at social change. i really don't think he wants my money. Smiley

I won't ever do such thing.Satoshi if still alive and active and has all the coins in his presupposed wallet , why should a poor me send him my penny just because he claim to be backrupt. I will only do if he can show himself with the whole world and not just a signed message.

If this happens, I will accept donations of some bitcoins for satoshi because he himself created the most valuable cryptographic coin in the digital age. And it sure does not happen because it's just a hypothesis.

Why?
If I were in this situation, I'd love for someone to help me out whether or not I am BTC's creator. And so if I am capable of helping out, why not? Satoshi has helped thousands of people through his work. So paying it forward, even to the creator himself wouldn't be bad at all. A sign of gratitude for someone who has contributed greatly in making many lives better.

Maybe I will send him if I have much bitcoin, but I don't think that he needs this as we know that he has a half of bitcoin amount in his wallet. But if it is necessary, then I will send some amount bitcoin to him as a thank you to him for invented and introduce bitcoin to me. I thank you to Satoshi, and because of him, now we can have a new source of income which we can use to make more money on the internet.

It is very good if we send Bitcoin back to Satoshi especially Satoshi has bankruptcy without him. Bitcoin certainly doesn't exist at the moment, but I have to be honest until now I don't have bitcoin so I can't send bitcoin to Satoshi once again. I apologize.
Big thanks to him because he created bitcoin we become beneficial from it. He has lot of bitcoin and would help others. Maybe if he still lives, he would like to help those who are in need than giving back to him. I do not have much bitcoin but I want to help others to do their own earning.

Looking at the outcome of this so far, I think Satoshi might end up being a very rich person or group, if he  Huh ever reveals himself. My theory has always been that Satoshi created Bitcoin and he tested the mining, without backing up all those private keys for his experimental wallets. <those coins was basically worthless at the time>

So the millions of coins that he has been linked to, might never be accessible to him and he might need some money for his next project. So Satoshi, if you are out there, just give us a sign and the community will pitch in together to help you, with whatever you need.  Wink

Sure. I would send Bitcoins to Satoshi, since he's the one who created Bitcoin and Blockchain technology after all. This is because I want to support him in his endeavors, since it would've taken him a lot of work and effort to help make Bitcoin a reality in the first place. There's a reason why he mined the initial set of Bitcoins in the beginning, which could be to support his work after a long time. Without him or his invention, the world wouldn't have grasped the freedom of decentralized peer-to-peer money.

Which is why, I would support him in every way possible, if he manages to provide proof of his keys for the first Bitcoin transactions ever made on the Blockchain. If people have already donated some coins to Andreas Antonopoulos, then why shouldn't they do so with Satoshi? After all, if it wasn't by him, Blockchain technology wouldn’t have become the giant it is right now.

All in all, I won't hesitate to send Bitcoins to Satoshi within a designed public address. And I'm sure that many people would do the same, since he's admired by many cryptocurrency enthusiasts around the world. Wink

I will donate for sure. I know I don't have to, but without Bitcoin I would probably remain a total nobody average joe with zero vision and future perspective.

Bitcoin aside from its increase in value throughout the last years made me become interested in economics, made me realize how much of a faul game governments are playing with their citizens, and how much of a pain in the ass financial institutions are.

If you don't know better than what you have in front of you, you will eventually deal with it because there is no other option. Satoshi gave us the option to do things differently, and I grabbed it with both arms. I entered this space in 2013 and since that time there hasn't been one single day Bitcoin wasn't part of it. I wish I appreciated Bitcoin sooner though, because the true appreciation and understanding of Bitcoin's power started in 2015 for me.

You already know that it is a scam if ever satoshi will ask bitcoin from us. He never touched his bitcoin before, so I think he is doing well. And there is no way we can  verify if he really is the real satoshi.
How is it a scam? people are not expecting something in return after sending BTC to his address. It should be considered as a donation tbh.

There are several ways to verify anyone as long as he/she is willing to prove it. One of the most known here in the forum is to sign a BTC address. Another example is using PGP.

Will you send bitcoins and if you do, why?
I will send some since there's no minimum and Bitcoin helped me in so many ways.

Wrong question: actually, we already know Satoshi's address, at least it is a common belief that one of the first addresses which had received mining rewards in first days of Bitcoin network's startup, belonged to Satoshi.

The only thing causing hesitation, is whether he still has access to it or not (i.e. to the password of the underlying private key, and the key itself).

In case that's true, I feel very sorry for him, whoever he is.

If I became a millionaire because of bitcoin. I would have given him a bit of it. But if the case is that he needed my help.

I think this is true. If he doesn't want it why would I give it? It will be a waste of effort and money.

Plus come to think of the fact that if Satoshi doesn't have a hold on those address anymore, or he has forgotten the keys, then that would be bitcoin supply wasted.

If i had a lot of bitcoins why not? Satoshi is the reason why  we are now using bitcoin and earning through it. And i think as a way of giving thanks ,it is not difficult to give this person any amount in return for all he done to us. We are so thankful that bitcoin was created. It help change the lives of many people and help to minimize economic poverty.

Showing gratitude is a good thing but telling me send bitcoin to a wallet that the man may not have access to the private keys is a waste of resources so no point doing it.

Satoshi's creation has been of immense and invaluable assistance to me and my family,it raised my status and made me live much more comfortably

I doubt if satoshi will ever return nor ever be bankrupt and in need of btc

But If he(she/they ever returns for some donations,i will gladly oblige some to him(she/they)

if there is indeed authentic evidence that it is the address of Satoshi's wallet, I would be very happy to give as many tips as I can. especially if he said that he had gone bankrupt, I think there would be a lot of people or even communities in this forum who would raise funds to help Satoshi. it is undeniable that he is a great inventor who has quite changed my life.

I will send to him and without any hesitation. I will do that to appreciate him for giving the whole world blockchain technology  and bitcoin BTC. This innovation has kept me where i am now which is far more better than where i was before now.  BTC bitcoin  is so strong and will surely empower the poor according to the dreams of Satoshi and his team. This  is called an innovation of the century. Blockchain on its own can help solve a lot  problem ranging from politics/elections to hospital  file management and drug dispensing in the hospits.

I like this theme. I would still send some money to Satoshi. This person, though he did not invent the blockchain technology, but came up with an original idea for the implementation of the technology. This gave impetus to the development of cryptocurrency market. Respect

Many small donations out of goodwill translates into an amount he can comfortably sustain himself with. I don't even think he has to ask for anything with how people will dust-spam his addresses automatically.

I have occasionally sent coins to certain (active) addresses just to clean up my own private keys so that the funds will remain in circulation. I don't ever delete private keys with funds in them.

I might regret it at some point in the future when even satoshis become valuable, but at least I made someone else 'happy' with it. Maybe I should create my own 'dust' wallet and save up everything year after year.

Why?

This is a bit difficult to consider because I'm not the early-adopters who has a large number of bitcoins. But if the scenario is really happen, I will give him 0.xxx btc because with his creation of bitcoin, it is a revolution for our current generation and help our financial life.

We owe big to Satoshi Nakamoto and as a sign that we thank him, I think it is okay to send him bitcoin. But I will be honest that I will only something that I can since I am not that really good at earning bitcoin so I will only give what I can give. The important thing is that, I gave back  something he gave to me / us.

The first question that springs to mind is, what proof would we need from Satoshi
so that we can be sure it is the real person or group?

If it was the real Satoshi who asked for a donation I would give it, i donate money
to various charities throughout the year so its not a big deal. Satoshi imo would
be worthy of a donation for what he has given us.

First is why would we send some Bitcoin to his/her address?
We all know that he/she is now a wealthy person because of his/her creation.

I would send money for Satoshi too! He deserves my thanks, at least for the fact that for the last year and a half I have had the opportunity to live off of the cryptocurrency. And I still have the opportunity to earn a crypto and hope that its price will rise.

Well no one knows Satoshi for now and I think anyone who comes out claiming to be him is just a fraudster or something who wants some Satoshi. Satoshi will never come out begging for BTC or Satoshi and with these reason I will never send my BTC to anyone claiming to be him.

I wouldn't try to annoy him by sending him mail. If he happened to be a very friendly person who wants to be a part of the community, like some celebrities are, I would probably send him a letter because I'd like him to know that he changed the lives of so many people, me included. If the address was uncovered through hacking r some other detective work I'd ask people not to take any action and let him be.

I would send a little amount of Bitcoin to his wallet as a form of appreciation for the creation of Bitcoin, which have made so much rich and given employment to few.

Maybe if I had enough in my account, I would send it for notifying my appreciate. So Bitcoin is a great discovery for humanity and people like him should always be evaluated and due to no one evaluates the value of his discovery, at least the owners like us should let him know his value with a small gift.

If I am sure that this letter was sent by Satoshi Nakamoto, and not a fraudster, I will send part of my biktion to him. Without problems. Why? Yes, just because he is a genius! I think that says it all.

maybe for me a very genius like Satoshi Nakamoto would not run out of reasons to unlock the key from his own creation.
if there might be bad news that hit Satoshi as a cryptocurrency connoisseur I also have to respect the creator of BITCOIN, but if it is fake and unable to explain in detail the initial creation and purpose, I will say you are hypocritical using Satoshi's name in front of the media.

To be honest, I don't think I would send. There are rumors, that he has a lot of Bitcoin. Sure, what he created, is huge, and awesome, but if he, as a creator has not paid attention to his private key, than he may not deserv to be tipped. May would think differently, if he had a good explonation thought.

I will not send bitcoin to him. Because we don't know anything about satoshi. We don't know how he/she looks and the main information about  that person. So its hard to believed if one people will asked for some help and claiming that he is satoshi nakamoto.

With this amount of bitcoin sitting in his wallet i don't see the reason to add to it because it seems he is secured when financially i guess he has to rather send some to as a form of donation to charity homes or better still a reputable non-profit organization who functions to help in the development of the community or society.

Before you ask their are so many bitcoins who are giving donation but that is going wasted as per your theory sathosi lost the private key of that donation address so it is waste to donate in that address. But i think lot of them will come forward to donate in new address. But sathosi is the man who made this technology then i think he will be knowing the solution for private key loss recovery.

No, why? Because Satoshi doesn't need any donations, Satoshi doesn't need any attention, and Satoshi doesn't need any help in term of Bitcoin Funds. He has almost 1.1 Million BTC and hes fine with tha already. I will send him bitcoin as long as he will send me higher than that.

Well if I have plenty of money why not specially if I am earning in something that he/she created,
But I think I wouldn't send some right now since I really need the money and I think that he is already wealthy .
I agree in your opinion he is creator of bitcoin that's why he is more wealthy than us, only I give him a thank you cause he give income cause right now I really need money. Maybe next time If I earned more profit in my investment why not I give him a thank you gift.

I think Satoshi is too inteligent to go bankrupt and too smart to go bonkers and seek donations and risk his identity being exposed. He made quite the perfect decision to conceal his identity all these years, a move that made bitcoin much more stronger as it supported the cause of pseudonymity. So, i do doubt that Satoshi will be doing this at all, and it will feel scammish to me if ever it happens.

If only I had Bitcoins to send to his Bitcoin address since as of this time I have no Bitcoins on my wallet but if I have some why not? Even though I need those coins I will surely find a way to share it with Satoshi. Without Satoshi I am not a cryptocurrency enthusiast right now and maybe my life is like a mess. Bitcoin changed the way me and my family live right now though I am not wealthy but Bitcoin helps us survive with our daily needs most especially in the financial situation. So sharing our Bitcoins with Satoshi will definitely help him no matter how small or big we will give him.

yes you are right for what satoshi sent bitcoin by someone while satoshi is the creator. maybe we can find out the address and send a good message so that bitcoin is more credible and regulated to be safer.

Of course I will because Its my only way to thank him by creating and developing bitcoin. In fact we cant earn huge profit without the help of bitcoin. If he is the real Satoshi then that will be good because nowadays people used to tell that they are satoshi even tho they are not.

why not ? if ever i have some spare coins , yes i will probably donate some to his address but it is tough to know his address because rumors said that satoshi remains anonymous for now .

if someone claims that he is the real satoshi , then that is probably fake . he will only scam us in a way of donating bitcoin's  or asking for any money upfront .

but if he still insist that he is the real satoshi nakamoto , then he must provide a strong proof such as signing a message , etc ..

The proof will be difficult in this scenario, because I already said that Satoshi lost access to his private keys for all of the addresses that were rumoured to be his. <So Satoshi cannot sign those, with a message>

People will also not trust a message signed with a PGP key, because they say that might have been compromised. We can also not trust Gavin to verify something that only Satoshi and Gavin discussed, because Gavin has shown that he can easily be fooled. <CW drama>

This can become very complicated.  Roll Eyes

Yes true.
Satoshi comeback will always be a complicated discussion and how to proof he is the real one in the real life and online... I won't hesitate to give a part from what I own in bitcoin but for sure not for Roger Ver and his pals.

if verified that it's satoshi and he is bankrupt, definitely i will send bitcoin to his address, my reasons are i dont think anything is too big to donate to a man like satoshi nakamoto who invented bitcoin that has rescued and relieved lots of persons from poverty and starvation. He is worth every penny.

I'd just like to send a message to him, or better still, have a chat with the man.

I don't think he's waiting for donations, but getting the chance to show appretiation for something he invented would be cool.

I wonder if we'll ever really know who he is in terms of him going public with an interview or statement about the very beginning of bitcoin.
That'd make a killer documentary

No, I know he is the creator and developer of bitcoin but i don't know much about him. How can I believe and send my bitcoins to the person that I don't know. It is so risky.

Why?
yes if at time the price is really high and i have enough bitcoin
you will not gain in bitcoin if satoshi dont create it so its ok to share some

What happens if Bitcoin is recognized as currency and trading globally?
I believe Satoshi will be awarded the Nobel Prize. And he will return to show us the value of Bitcoin recognized. Then if I own Bitcoin I will send to him as a thank you for the effort he made

even though this is just fictitious, it is still difficult for me to believe it, sosiosi is not a fool, even if it really allows him to go bankrupt, he must find his own solution for bangkin without having to ask for our bitcoin donations, but if that is true and valid at that time I had more bitcoin so I would give it a few percent, just think of it as a reward, because he had created a coin that was so valuable and had given me many things

I hate who ever sent)I only Have 2,I think if I give one of them .That anyone, especially me,better not be)))If I had a lot of them, then I probably would be shared)anyway,I think that is unlikely to happen.Since such a smart man, unless of course he actually exists, who came up with such a complex system, just will not be in poverty.

I think the biggest amount of people will not send their bitcoins to Satoshi, because of the goal: they buy them to earn by themselves.

I fell that Satoshi has enough Bitcoin to even want to receive more, perhaps sending a token amount to show one's appreciation would be in order, you could leave a message to him / her / them also via the Blockchain. Could be a cool thing to do if the scenario panned out as you have envisaged  Cool

I think that's a fantastic assumption. How can the creator of bitcoin run out of bitcoins? Absurd. If you encounter such an assumption is probably a scam.

Until now, the existence of satoshi is very unclear. Many peoples can pretend they are satoshi.
Other than that, i want to say thank you to satoshi for creating cryptocurrency in our world, so we are able to transact peer to peer with peoples.

It is really an impossible thing to happen but I will try to be in that situation. I will not send any amount of bitcoin in that fictional address on an arguably fictional character. It is for the reason that I am not that rich when it come sit bitcoin or I am not that old here or that triumphant one. I am just new to these kind of environment but if I am that successful one,  I might send some. Why?  It is because his invention brings many things for people like us here. His invention lead to an another type of technology. So yes,  I might send some.

To say thank you to this man, it would be reasonable but I don't think people will do that if only a small amount, but in principle if everyone starts to send malenkie amount it will be significant, and decent !

Of course, the assumption is quite absurd that the creator of bitcoin ran out of bitcoins. It is unlikely that the person who created such a unique technology will be able to go bankrupt.

I absolutely do not believe in such a situation when the creator of Bitcoin will ask to give him money for life. A much more likely scenario is that if he loses his fortune, he will come up with some other project that will enrich it. So I can not believe that the real Satoshi asks to send him coins and will not send anything.

I don't think Satoshi is stupid enough or inattentive enough to go completely bankrupt, since he created a unique coin that went up in value significantly. And surely he has enough coins to be secured for the rest of his life.

Well he does an extreme knowledge and skills if its for coding and technology but as a support and gratitude to his creation, why you wouldn't just give him an appreciation through sending few of your sats, mbtc, bitcoin.

Any amount will do. Think of it on where are you right now if you never get into bitcoin. A simple tip would make him happy for sure and going to help him to rise up again from bankruptcy.

Why?
Well for all the profit i earn in crypto trading and signature campaign participation ,and all the coins and tokens in my folio ,i believe satoshi deserves to hve some tips from creating this great innovation for the human raise and if may have a chance to be with him,I definitely treat him some places for generosity

If I have a bitcoin in hand, I will not give it to him, because many people are hunting him if my fortune is in his hands it will be very dangerous.

If I know Satoshi bitcoin address I will not send him even a .0001 bitcoin because he did not need it. In fact if we are connected I am the one who will ask him to send my even a smalll amount of bitcoin. I dont want to be a sarcastic. Honestly I do not going to shy to accept if someone give me even a small amout of bitcoin specially if it os Satoshi because I know he have a lot of bitcoin. But I think it is not a good feeling if your bitcoin is came from other people because for me I will appreciate bitcoin even small or big amount as long as I will work for it kn my own.

I won't send him even a single satoshi. Why? because it is impossible for Satoshi Nakamoto to lose the access to his coins. He is the developer and it sound weird if he send such message that stated he is bankrupt and got no access to his coins. I will certainly doubt the validity of the message.

He makes me better so why not ?

Nobody expect bitcoin become so popular right now because the way bitcoin works really useful especially for global transaction purpose.
If satoshi is a person, he/she deserved more than donation, we can meet up and make a great colaboration !

If Satoshi is a real person and I know his bitcoin address , I will never send any of my coin to him because he had a lot of Bitcoins , it's about 1 MLM Bitcoins . And If I send  to him , I think he will never know who I am,   and he don't really need a bit of my bitcoin . I think Satoshi is a mysterious character and he is anonymous like Bitcoin , we may not know who he is.

However, no one knows what his bitcoin address so he still anonymous. Lastly, I hope in the near future real Satoshi Nakamoto will reveal himself.

Threads like this make me wonder if in 100 years there will be an official Crypto religion, with incense and observed holidays where the practitioners tithe 1 satoshi to the memory of their lost bitcoin addresses. So sayeth Satoshi, on the 8th blockchain confirmation thou shalt have thy good fortune.

As a sign of gratitude of how Satoshi Nakamoto contributed to a decentralized cryptocurrency and a blockchain technology to the world where it makes a change to an IT and Finance Industry and other IT dependent intstitutions, i would voluntarily send a portion of my bitcoin earnings to his bitcoin address as part of continuing development for the better and stronger position of bitcoin for many years to come.

If did answer this question when i meet with the cryptocurrency world in 2015 i would send him if i knew his bitcoin address. But now i would never send him, ever! Don't get me wrong, it is not about the bitcoin price, it is because of the uncertainty. Now i am not sure that Mr. Satoshi Nakamura really exist. He never showed up and told nothing. He made the bitcoin and millions of people needs to see him. But he is not here. Maybe he is never exist.

I would not send Satoshi bitcoins, because I don’t have them  Wink
In fact, it is difficult to believe in the reality of the origin of such events and the bitcoin creator is unlikely to ask for help, because there would immediately be a million fraudsters who would claim that each of them was Satoshi.

First of all, I don't think that Satoshi is a real creator of bitcoin, I prefer to think that it was someone else,
Like some 'government from the shadow'  project. That's why I would send nothing to someone that claims that he is Satoshi.
Second of all, I really have a problem to believe that behind validate addressee is really that someone that claims he is. I am skeptical because there is so many ways to  be cheated online today. That's practical approach. In theory, I would be sad if I would miss the opportunity to help someone that technically helped me to make some profit...

If I have to decide ... I wouldn't send any coin on that particular reason...

Of course, why not, at the end of the day he did something extremely selfless by providing us with this technology at no additional cost, so I wouldn't mind donating some of my investment, maybe not much but I wouldn't have much trouble with them, because I know many other people would be willing.
