What is SiaClassic?
SiaClassic is a continuation of the original vision of a decentralized storage platform, where anyone can store files securely and privately on other users’ spare hard drive space. Utilizing techniques such as encryption, sharding, and redundancy, SiaClassic aims to create a viable alternative to centralized hosting providers such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft.

Why did we decide to reject the Sia hard fork?
While we recognize the incredible achievements of the Sia team and their contributions to decentralized storage technologies, their decision to reset the proof-of-work algorithm has raised many questions and concerns in the community. Specifically, the removal of a significant amount of hash power from the network could have an extremely detrimental effect on the health and reliability of Sia.
How is the Foundation funded?
The Foundation is currently funded and seeking funding in three ways:
Holding SiaClassic tokens from community donations and fees, Grants from governments to perform research and development, and Tax-exempt contributions from individuals and businesses.
Why a non-profit organization?
The SiaClassic Foundation formed as a registered non-profit entity to show our commitment to technology over returns. Furthermore, the strict reporting requirements placed on non-profits in our jurisdiction (North Carolina, United States) will ensure that we remain true to our vision and accountable to our community.
Why does SiaClassic Foundation exist and what makes it unique?
The SiaClassic Foundation was created to honor Vorick’s original vision of a completely de-centralized file storage infrastructure, all running on the Sia network. The decision to hard fork the coin is completely counterintuitive to the original vision; that no central actor could make decisions. This hard fork, as planned, will brick the other miners, essentially creating a mining monopoly through Obelisk, which is wholly owned by Vorick and Champine’s corporation, Nebulous. SiaClassic Foundation was formed to ensure the future of Siacoin because it appears that Nebulous is no longer adhering to the original vision for Siacoin. The SiaClassic Foundation, a non-profit organization, has a mission to ensure that there is no one central conglomeration of power, but that development and research takes place in an open and transparent atmosphere.
What new technology is SiaClassic Foundation bringing to the blockchain?

HOW TO GET SIACLASSIC?
Make sure your SC is being stored in a wallet you have the private keys to. Do not leave in an exchange. When our wallet is released, it will work with the same keys, and you will have all the coins that you had in your Siacoin wallet, prior to the hard fork.
We also recommend that you don't update your Sia wallet to 1.3.7 but leave it at 1.3.5 or lower. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Yes, It will be available through mining. The pending Sia fork treats every owner of any Bitmain or Innosilicion ASIC in the same way. There is no need for our own profit model the foundation is made possible because of a community of people passionate about this project, miners who protect the network, and developers who devote their time and energy to it. |

Now I install Sia-UI-v1.3.4-win32-x64 (I understand it is more recommended than Sia-UI-v1.3.5-win32-x64).
Do I have to wait for sync to finish?
How do I recover my old address? A more detailed explanation would be great!

I will try to keep it simple fist of all, decide if you want to run Sia & SiaClassic on the same PC, is not possible, is possible only if you have 2 virtual machines on the same PC cause the wallet of both is looking at the same folder in the /appdata ok, so, what I've done I've left my Sia UI version: v1.3.7. (lastest at the moment of writing) on one PC I've installed the Sia UI version: v1.3.5 on another PC If you don't have another PC or you don't have a virtual machine you have to rename this folder C:\Users\ yourPCname\AppData\Roaming\Sia-UI cause the Sia UI version: v1.3.5 when installed will create a new folder with the same name Than you have to add the Sia Classic nodes through the Terminal on the Sia-UI gateway connect 178.128.136.54:9981 and the other, one by one: New York City 178.128.133.200 Amsterdam 178.128.136.54 Bangalore 139.59.55.137 San Francisco 165.227.242.208 Paris 139.59.204.81 Toronto 104.248.104.113 London 206.189.245.87 Singapore 104.248.99.133 104.248.99.134 104.248.99.136 104.248.99.137 104.248.99.135 Port: 9981 Before you insert the seed to claim your forked coins you have to wait the wallet being synchronized to the last block Hope that helped  Cheers |
