I don't think bitcoin is going to died in 2027. The idea about blockchain technology has been there for long and many stories like this has come out several times and bitcoin has proven them wrong. I think that is were bitcoin will be on the Top Gear in it developments. If you decided to reduce your risk because of this then you should Know that you may also going to reduce your rewards.

Hey, guys. This year I became seriously interested in quantum computers. I came across here a study of Australian and Singaporean scientists about the security of Bitcoin: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1710.10377v1.pdf There are a lot of figures and formulas in the report, I haven't understood everything, but the main idea I've caught is that if Bitcoin doesn't implement post-quantum algorithms, it won't survive until 2027. I'm pretty sure that's the plan: to implement post-quantum algorithms when the threat actually becomes real. I doubt most people familiar with the issue thinks elliptic curve signatures are built to last forever. Like any other existential protocol issue, the bug would be addressed and if necessary, a rollback might be performed. It's not ideal, but we also have some precedent for issues like this. I don't see it being the "death" of Bitcoin at all. In fact, it's possible to implement a simple soft fork change to Lamport one-time signatures which could avert most of the damage. I wonder how the community would react to something fatal like ECDSA begin cracked. I think even the there would be drama to reach to some sort of agreement, specially if a hard fork is involved to fix the situation, but I guess quickly one of the proposed solutions would win out of necessity because when money is on the line there is not much time to fuck around. There would be some drama, no doubt about that. A hard fork that rolls back transactions would be controversial for obvious reasons like the matter of immutability. A soft fork like above would probably leave a lot of peoples' coins in jeopardy: many would have their coins stolen, which would be impetus for victims to spin off their own hard fork that restores their coins. Whatever happens though, I agree that BTC holders will have very strong incentives to resolve the protocol failure as swiftly and amicably as possible, as everyone will strongly benefit from remaining a cohesive, secure network. The 2010 overflow bug and subsequent fork is one successful example of that.

I do not agree with what you say, bitcoin will not be destroyed in 2027. bitcoin can only be destroyed if it loses trust from its holder, it means only investors can destroy bitcoin.

Their is no significance of having said 2027 it will die. It is nothing more than a statement without a meaning to it. BTC has started the revolution in the world and it will grow over the years as more and more countries starting to adopt the technology and crypto currency.

Bitcoin died so many times in this forum lol and still its on the top of the best coins today still the number one and I cant see any systems or quantum computers can destroy btc in the future or even after 30 years from now we can see how powerful bitcoin is towards the coming years theres only one entity who can destroy bitcoin and its us users.

Few beginners are just blabbering the Bitcoin reputation so no one is consider this point. In 2027 Bitcoin circulation is completely survive in market so demand is increasing in the market. Bitcoin is a forever cryptocurrency so we should never mind these kind of rumours and negative feedback of Bitcoin. I hope all the altcoins are always secondary in crypto market.

a) bitcoin supply won't be completely circulated in 2027. b) when bitcoin supply is fully circulated you cannot assume price will always increase, market supply is more pertinent than circulating supply, people will always be willing to sell at varying prices for varying reasons, demand is also not constantly growing.

Bitcoin will not die. Until that time the devs and people who support bitcoin will make new updated on bitcoin and bitcoin will not be affected by quantum computers in any way. And i saw so much time, bitcoin will die, but never happen nothing and much more bitcoin survive and also grow a lot. So the best bet is to hold.

whether bitcoin will not be used in that year or what it will be like, which is clear, for now, the development for bitcoin does not stop, and of course the implementation of blockchain is still done by large companies. instead of dying, I think bitcoin will be an extraordinary thing in the future.

Currently, I'm thinking hard about how I could minimize the risks - all of the sudden, it may be true about quantum computers. What do you think, guys? Maybe, there are already some projects that make a crypto with post-quantum protection? I think it should be implemented in Bitcoin blockchain There is no logic behind bitcoin dying. There is no reason for it to die, I understand some people bought bitcoin during its peak times at around $20k and now they lost a lot of money because of it and some even got out and just took the loss and those same people really wish the bitcoin would die off so they could say they got out at least before it died. That is the only possible reaction that makes sense, if you lost money on something you want it to go even further down so you can say you got out early and didn't lost all your money but some of it however if it goes up and makes all of us profit than that person sold early and should have waited so he could profit, he didn't which would upset him. It is the human nature, you want the best option for your future to happen, that is all.

It is the human nature, you want the best option for your future to happen, that is all. All of us want the best possible future. It's not easy to predict the future and do now what's necessary to secure your future. There is logic in bitcoin dying from better and more secured technology, that is possibility like many other possibilities, but how big chances are for that to happen and when? In 9 years from now I doubt that technology can advance so much. People never lose with bitcoin cause of the bitcoin, it's cause of greediness and fear, greediness when they want much more, fear from price going down and panic selling. People lose with crypto only when they sell crypto for money, and they sell cause panic that has been spread around the Internet with topics about bitcoin death. I don't believe in this crap for sure, but many people still fall on similar things and they lose nerves and sell valuable coins for worthless money.

Of course there is a logic behind it, based on the news that we heard about something so called 'quantum computing' so far. if it is kicking in or running in the future, it almost can brute force anything. which means, it is totally unsafe for them who own cryptocurrency. and because of that cryptocurrency will be dead, but of course let's talk about it after it is running. but i doubt it will happen in 2027 because a lot of people talked about this many years ago, and so far i hear nothing about it except the rumours.

Pretty unreasonable and it just shows how people just tend to want to always come up with whatever comes to mind or what they just want to assume in their head. By considering how successful bitcoin is in these days, I believe bitcoin will survive with us forever until the planet earth stays alive. I am sure in one way looking at what the OP said, there is no doubt that we will get to see some panicking situation which some people would likely want to cause, but I have the best feelings that before then, we would have getting to see the protocol change to something that will be quantum resistant one way or the other. One thing I am sure of is that as the world keep advancing, so many things keep advancing with it as well considering where we were years ago and where we are now.

300+ times https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoinobituaries/ Probably that should give some people the clue that, no matter how much some keep pronouncing bitcoin dead, it just keeps coming back stronger, and in the end, they that pronounced it dead and those who want to believe that, are actually the ones who always miss out at the end. This is nothing new though, and i know even if bitcoin gets to possibly over $1m, and there is a correction, some will still keep coming with their obituary posters.

They never get tired of saying that word and we will not be tired of telling those gullible people that bitcoin has died many times. These people are up for something that they will benefit out of others misfortune or fear. I want to see bitcoin hit $1,000,000 until that day but I think we'll need a long time before that.

No one can predict exactly what will happen in the coming years because you are not in the future right so how could you say that bitcoin will die in the 2027, its not good prediction and unrealistic.
If someone want to be successful men in the future you dont need to be negative thinker but be optimistic that something will be fine to help your to improve working to seek you goal.
