In the wake of the most recent Facebook data breach, public awareness of data privacy issues is clearly on the rise. Both individuals and companies are increasingly interested in digital solutions that will afford them greater levels of privacy.

For companies building on blockchain, privacy-oriented blockchains like Horizon are becoming more attractive than ever. As a result, privacy-focused projects across the board are going to gain a lot of steam in the next year.

But, as we’ve discussed previously, regulators aren’t fans of digital privacy and they try to obstruct this wherever they can. While regulators may not be able to completely strip anonymity out of crypto projects, they will be able to lay down even stricter KYC and AML standards and penalties to pressure projects into cooperating.

The development of privacy coins is now ambiguous, I know some privacy coins, but I can't predict their future. No cash must rely on concentrated coins. This is a coin produced by the government in cooperation with cryptocurrency. Of course, there will be a few very private markets.

In the wake of the most recent Facebook data breach, public awareness of data privacy issues is clearly on the rise.

privacy "coins" are coins aka a currency and have nothing to do with "data" such as personal information that is stored in Facebook and other similar platforms!

i am really interested to see how they can use blockchain technology in data protection and in social media platforms similar to Facebook but unfortunately so far there was either no difference or they were centralized...

both KYC and AML are money related laws. you are talking about privacy and data protection and started it with Facebook fiasco so you can't talk about these.
besides we are trying to achieve decentralization which means regulations and these laws are irrelevant.

concentrated? I'm not familiar with coins like this, so what kind of coins are concentrated?
I also didn't hear a government producing a coin like this.

I dont think privacy coins have a big future honestly. Yes, they are excellent from the users perspective but terrible from the perspective of governments and regulators. The privacy coins will be the ones that get hit the most if and when the crypto market becomes regulated because there is no way of knowing what the money is used for and what is it financing and by whom.

privacy regarding data on Facebook really hasn't anything to do with privacy based coins as they are different from each other. If we're talking about the blockchain technology then we can talk about how it can be used and integrated to help secure privacy further. There's a lot of potential in that case. If we're talking about the demand for privacy in regards of transaction that is of certain coins offering such services to what extent is yet to be seen how good it'll be for the general public further along the lines.

The privacy coin is a coin that is used by certain according to the data but has not been so widespread, so there are still many who do not understand this coin. It still requires a lot of development to be able to attract the public.

It was alarming for the users to see such big social media platform like Facebook facing big data breach. Data privacy should be protected by any means. So privacy oriented blockchain would be more popular among the users.

there are lots of coin projects in 2018 where the focus is on privacy.  but it seems 2018 is not the year for privacy coins and decentralized exchanges.  maybe the market condition spoiled the supposed year for the two.  maybe 2019 will be the year.  goodluck!

Oh oh oh. Every month we see new types of Coin who are trying to become significant (but are sent to the garbage, lol). Be realistic, facebook, etc. are monopolists, they cannot be moved at least a little by small projects (and all such projects are small, lol, remove rose-colored glasses)

The most important thing is that Privacy coin projects do not tarnish their reputation, I think they will have a good future.

So what do you think, the whole thing will again come down to the same street as we are in today. I mean those pity regulations, bringing project to open grounds and ugh more.

On the other side if crypto is ever kept in the same fashion as they are today then there is big chance they will secure the future of socialism and even technology fields in terms of their privacy. I do believe in them in terms of providing safety. Let’s see how stuff comes out may be in a year or two.

Sorry, but I really doubt that. The response of the average person towards all the privacy breaches has just been pretty meh.
I think that most people simply do not care about their privacy, as sad as that may be.

Otherwise we'd all be using Firefox and Duckduckgo instead of Chrome and Google, yet they have such low marketshare.
It's the same with cryptocurrency, people just use what everybody else uses. Privacy isn't a main concern.

I haven't heard any of the privacy coin that does have a use case besides being an anon coin. Well there is one which I wasn't even aware if its really anon token like the the  komodo which is actually a platform. I have not learned any token that uses this  platform though but I must say all of the tokens I presume are all anon tokens. If privacy coins gets attention next year,  Komodo must be the first I would invest to.

Data and privacy related cryptocurrencies were always high profiled projects, raising lots of investments. So i think the same with you we will see more and more advanced projects in 2019

I do not think that decentralization will exist for society. Governments and banks will always have access to these people, they will never let go of power. The one who owns the information owns the world.

Privacy coins have a place in crypto but it won't be mainstream. Monero will pump due to it's usage in the dark web markets, but on regular exchanges check out zcash instead

I think that privacy with the help of blockchain technology is currently a big problem, since in fact there are only a few coins that can really boast of confidentiality.
