When I has been introduced to the forum by a friend I was told that this is a forum where high ranking members prey on lower member. That there is always a collective attack on lower members I must say I was quite scared when I joined I was not so enlightened about cryptocurrency but I was ready to try.

Even from my registration I started learning this might me embarrassing but o knew what hydrant was through the captcha process. My very first few days I had begun to understand more and more everyday. The forum became interesting to me. I got it this is a no nonsense forum and most newbies are undermining the standard of the forum and get scolded by members Thats certainly not a vendetta. I just hope we can change our wrong perspective and no that the forum is bigger and more  than everybody not even a legendary member is above the forum rules and regulations (recently some lengendary members were banned) avoid scepticism you where here to achieve a goal. Keep a clear head and a zeal to learn and improve then you would enjoy your time here

Actually the reverse is true. The new/lower ranks prey/sponge on/off the world of the established members. They seem to regard it as a right, and that is what causes much of the conflict.

Most of the low-ranked members only have that kind of mindset simply because they think high-rank members only give merits to fellow high-rank members. Whereas the truth why most merited people are high-ranks is simply because a lot of the low-ranked members mostly only post on bounty topics, and don't even contribute to the forum at all. They're mad that they got de-ranked from Jr member to newbie, now requiring them 1 merit to get a jr member rank back. NOTE: only ONE(1) merit; and they're already having a hard time. You can easily notice this because the people complaining usually have 200+ activity, and 0 merit.

The problem is not with the people, or the system. The problem is that they don't know crap at all to start with.

Anyway, best of luck with you and I hope you learn a lot here.

Exactly.  That's why some of the older members (including me, although I've only been here 3.5 years) seem to be somewhat prickly, and sometimes even outrageously abusive--especially toward new members.  But it's the truth that most new members only came here to earn money, and many of them leave a trail of shitposts in their wake, and quite a few of them end up with a ban for plagiarism.

avoid scepticism you where here to achieve a goal. Keep a clear head and a zeal to learn and improve then you would enjoy your time here
Your English isn't great, and it's hard for me to understand most of what you're getting at, but the two words I bolded above represent something anyone who joins bitcointalk should NOT do.  You need to be skeptical around here, because very few things and even fewer members are what they seem to be.  "Keep a clear head" is good advice, but only if by that you mean keeping your eyes open for bullshit--and there's is a ton of that on bitcointalk.

Most of the low-ranked members only have that kind of mindset simply because they think high-rank members only give merits to fellow high-rank members.
I don't know if that's the real reason or not.  Newbies get a lot of harsh feedback from the older members, and most of it is deserved.  It helps to have a thick skin around here, especially when you're just starting out.

Newbies do get a lot of harsh feedback, and yes, it's mostly because they do deserve it like you said. Newbies do complain a lot, saying that there's bias towards higher-ranked members because they claim that most merits only revolve among high-ranks(a recent example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5055497). Though there's somewhat truth behind this, but it's simply because of the higher-rank members mostly(definitely not everyone) are the ones that have better quality posts.

On having a thick skin though, I partly agree. I don't think low-ranks get crapped on if they don't deserve it. Higher-ranks mostly crap on lower-ranks that mostly post only on altcoin bounty threads and complain on how they don't receive merit.

Definitely true, I have always seen newbie start a thread and make an offensive post regarding the system(especially merit system) the unequality of the ranks, and an unfair treatment to newbie (which is not true). Legend people tends to help the newbie by always giving constant advise and feed back about a post created by newbie but then many newbie were hard headed and this starts the conflict. Many users are aware of this but the newbies were not and continue to disgrace the forum.

Another lectures again about how to enjoy the forum, how the higher rank and lower rank are going on.  We have had tons of OT already and there are moderators that handles the situation of the forum it's only proper we leave topics like this to the right source and engage intellectually on beneficial topics. In as much as your intent might have come from your heart and directed at a purpose  it is only going to trigger the wrong spot on the mind of very focus individuals who are feed up with topics that has signs of merit hunting.

PS. Your perspective should be avoiderit hunting, avoid spam post and get focus on bitcointalk forum

Newbies such as yourself, you might want to add that part, as its more obvious than every other thing you included in this post of yours

Your subject happens to be "your perspective for the forum",but you came up with 0 contributions on how to make the forum a better place,no suggestions,no ideas, nothing whatsoever

What you've scribbled down here is actually what undermining The reputation of the forum, and not newbies as you said
It's newbies like yourself

You didn't openly beg for merits,bu we all know you just did

You're confusing 'lower members' with shitposters. Nobody gives a shit about what rank you are but we are concerned with the content of your posts. It just so happens that the forum has been abused en masse by shitposters who obviously start out and now will likely stay at a lower-rank so that's why they get the most shit because they ask the same stupid questions over and over again (what is merit, how do I earn, why was my friend account banned etc and it gets tedious the thousandth time you've heard it). Remember, everyone starts off as a newbie, but those who contribute something will now likely rise through the ranks fairly quickly and those that don't will languish as a lower rank and quite rightfully.

He already got a merit before this thread. Maybe he's aiming higher though   Cheesy

That's because most have solely signed up here because someone sold them this place as somewhere where you could quickly join and easily get paid for doing nothing but posting, and that used to be the case. Now it's not as easy as that and that's why they're outraged. It's like a too good to be true offer, that at first seems to be true, but when you get there there's a catch and that free meal you were after turns out not to be so, and that's always annoying.
