I feel like we have reached saturation point in terms of new coins. Yeah some thing new or a gimmick can turn up and pump and dump but I think from this point on people are starting to realize only some of these coins are going make it.

I don't want to be accused of pumping and to be honest my choice are hardly revolutionary in terms of public opinion.

So my picks as we stand today for long term holding are the following though I don't hold any Dogecoin:

1, BTC
2, NXT
3, Darkcoin
4, Lastly there are a lot of NXT copycats that very easily could beat NXT not on function but just on marketing. NEM, NEX etc.
5, Dogecoin just due to its stupid image that has captured the imagination. Its deserves to die but I have a feeling it wont.

What are your top long term stable bets?

Agree with you on having reached saturation point (yet coins still being pumped out at an insane rate).

However define 'survive', many coins could chug along for years with little but a core interested group of people.

imo if we had a core group of 'bluechip' alts then overall chances of cryptos succeeding (ie becoming something more then just trading tokens) would be greater.

if you look at the prices of 90% of coins they have their day in the sun then it's a slow steady decline in value. No one can predict the future but in the end only a few are keepers for the long haul, ie will increase in price steadily and have the hope also to be used.

Bitcoin is really the only coin that has some acceptance for trade, darkcoin would be better in my opinion due to its anominity and then NXT solves the problems that's Mtgox highlights by complete decentralisation. I don't see any other coins that add to these functions other than minor gimmicks.

With NXT's early distribution method (or lack there of), I see very little chance for its longterm survival, in any meaningful way. Darkcoin offers nothin over an above what already exists, and is done better elsewhere.

Market saturations means most people will eventually default back to BTC and LTC. (maybe a couple of other alt communities will survive and grow overtime if the holders/devs can stick by their coins long enough).

I agree partially that people might revert back to Bitcoin, LTC is far less likely. NXT is in many ways a superior product in terms of function, that can't be denied. The complaints about the distribution are way overblown and later users if they like the client and functions won't give a rats ass about it. In all the criticism of NXT distribution the truth has been lost that the offer was open for anyone for a month or two and the coin was dirt cheap on DGEX for quite a while too. People talk a bunch of crap about it. It's this FUD that has held the coin back IMO, not the actual distribution.

What other coin but Darkcoin is anonymous?

does not believe POS will survive. socialism has never won capitalism in the history. If you want something, you work hard. If you get more than others without working, everyone else will vote with their boots.

NXT? remind me of animal farm.

1)ether
2)bitcoin
3)NXT
4)"insert this years dogecoin, will change every year"
5)maybe Darkcoin or something for the underground community
6) A good POS coin, something like Mintcoin

That's how I see the future.
