I reported these three threads a few days ago for all being spam mega threads, and suggested that they should be locked:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4623876
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4975491
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3253610

All three reports have been marked as good, but the three threads all remain open.

Similarly, I reported this thread this morning as being both discussed to death many times before and low value, likely to turn in to a spam fest:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5061153

This report was also marked as good, but this thread also remains open and as expected, is turning in to a spam fest.

Are my reports wrong and should have been marked as "bad", or was there a mistake made elsewhere?

I think it happens when the OP is worthless but (some of) the replies might be too interesting to remove the whole thread.

Same thing happened to me when I reported these OP:

I don't think I handled any of these and I usually only handle them if I'm going to lock them (but with some exceptions), but a staff member may have been on the fence about them so decided to not mark them as bad. Reports should probably just be left in the queue or 'ignored' if that's going to happen though (with some exceptions).

Locking the thread doesn't remove the replies though, just stop more endless spamming.

Reports should probably just be left in the queue or 'ignored' if that's going to happen though (with some exceptions).

That was my understanding. So are we saying that those first three threads should be allowed to remain open? They are undoubtedly spam-fests.

Already locked 2 thread. Hopefully think will lock rest of the thread. I  think once a report marked as good the post should be locked or moved or deleted.

Sorry for off-topic

How to check the reported post deleted or not? I didn't report too many post to be honest but when I see some of the most reported users report page they have been give with three of good bad and unhandled but for me it showing only number of posts with accuracy in percentage.

Is it we need to report to many post for that kind of details report stats?

@Findingnemo

If you can check your report history you can click on the Link you see it there!

If the thread link looks like this "  Thread Link "  it got deleted !

You can also look at the https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php  if you know the User ID or the threadname .

Modlog you can see all for 1 Week as far is i remember.

You need 300 good reports , then you can look at your  report stats !

There's quite a few cases where I'm not sure whether to take action. Leaving the report in the queue (e.g. when you're not completely sure and want to think about it) or "ignoring" (removing from your own queue but not from everyone elses) it potentially allows other mods to act upon the report.

After a certain length of time it should be clear that no action will be taken though right?  Why not delete them?  What is the benefit of leaving them unhandled perpetually?

Well, there's always a possibility of one of the mods being promoted to global and going through all the reports, including the ones the last few globals ignored. A report might also linger around the queue simply because there's always a crap ton of new reports coming in, to the point that I barely even remember the last time my queue went down to less than a hundred reports.

As for the good reports not getting acted upon, AFAIK it wasn't me. As someone earlier in the thread pointed out, one of the mods could've cleaned up the thread a bit without trashing it or locking it. He also could've handled it accidentally - happens from time to time.
