Uh OH.

No x11 and double spends on exchanges.

Things are looking grim.

HempCoin is PoS, but is it X11? The OP just says PoS.

Oh, I get what you're saying.  Grin

The dev was trying to switch it over to x11, but it doesn't look like it will happen.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

This coins wallet has not had an upgrade since launch. We need an openssl update and we need p2pool mining. I've contacted the devs for that and they do not have a clue or do not care, If they can not release p2pool code how do you expect they implement x11 ?
If x11 is to difficult to implement there are many other interesting protocols.
Could also ditch pos completely.
I would really like to see some movement in the hempcoin code on github

There was one upgrade to the wallet, but it didn't change the version number.

They aren't able to update the wallet to switch to x11 and have it work correctly.

I wanted to get you all up to date on x11. Despite trying for countless hours to integrate (fork) the existing source into a x11 we are not able to do it flawlessly.  The issue is in the PoS algorithm which is much different than a regular non PoS. We cannot release something less than 100% correct. We are sorry to get your hopes up and don’t like touting something and not following though but this is very difficult to accomplish with 100% accuracy at this time. As soon as we thought it was close it would fail in long range test. We have had some top coin coders in the world spend time with the issue and at this time it’s not an option. Also a coin swap which is super easy is not an option.

We are going to take a break from it and spend time promoting Hempcoin. On this subject the Proof of Stake coin is significantly better in regards to attacks and asics hog mining. There are not a lot of Stake coins based on the amount of coins out there. Especially one with Bonus Blocks.

Here is a like for those not familiar with the Hempcoin Stake (PoS) feature.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_Stake

Take a few minutes to check out our BCT Front page. We have added lots of new links.

Shout out to sillypothead for the Faucet. We tossed a few in the faucet.
Shout out to placebo for pushing Hemp in Pot BCT.

Any other promotional help for Hempcoin is appreciated.

Cheers!

Dev

Everyone is in Sync. We think the exchanges put it on 1 min block time instead of 30 seconds. We are verifying.

Sorry what does that even mean?  We don't have anything to do with block times.  The below two transactions both had 6+ confirmations and then were reset to 0.  The blockhash for them are 0000000162ac952ca1d6f887e091cd036596ea45768ef479ed431d7470a4c42c and 00000000cbfedcd7628587ee76bd7368a19175e06119ef8ab1992874fb348b41 respectively... This has nothing to do with being in or out of sync.

I asked the dev to make a fork on the github repo with the x11 work that is done so far so that I could look at it. They responded by telling me to start from scratch if I wanted to try and change it to x11 with pos.

It was 2 weeks ago when I asked for the x11 pos code they had. Maybe they have changed their mind since other x11 with pos coins already exist.

Don't worry guys, this has been happening to a lot of coins lately. We will be on top of it. Poloniex just got goxed a few nights ago. 1400 XBC bitcoinplus were stolen before the system caught it.

I have to say though. Look at all the people supporting this coin right now. We have grown so much. Thanks everyone.

To my mind this coin has as much potential as any I've seen, it just needs a little direction. My first instinct is to volunteer an acre of land and harvest enough to get a small industry off the ground. Is this interesting to anyone with an idea for processing hemp?
Maybe this proposal got lost in the shuffle, but I am willing to donate an acre of land and grow hemp for the purpose of seeding any sort of hemp industry.
I live in Canada where hemp cultivation is legal, and I would love to see someone exploit the many uses of raw hemp and turn it into a viable industry.
Baby steps are needed when dealing with a much maligned and demonized commodity, but I believe I can take a baby step that turns into a giant leap.

I am quite interested in this. Last I heard you need 10 acres of land to produce hemp in Canada and there are some loops to jump through. Have you look at what is required to get a hemp growing license?

I said earlier I would be interested in developing and online store where users could purchase hemp products using THC. Hemp oil is an amazing product that many claim have cured or healed their diseases. I have seen this first hand.

If you are interested I would contribute to this project.

If you want a shop like that then I know some farmers that sell raw hemp or finished products in northern Europe. They mainly produce oils and building materials.

We are in luck with hemp because it is a fantastic product !

A store like that I would be interested in helping to build and invest in Smiley

A double spend is when somebody spends the same x number of coins twice. It's the basic problem we are attempting to solve through mining and verifying payments etc...
