Hi everyone

TO CLARIFY IM NOT BEGGING - I’m asking for advice on a possible scammer

I’m looking to get back into crypto but I’m broke.

I decided to look for knowledgeable people to ask for advice.

I contacted some people with large followings on Instagram who invest and mine and one offered to help me with funds in a way.

If I shared my wallet address and I guess connected to his antminer he would turn my $100 into more and would be automatically sent back.

Then he said once I have that, he would tell me how to invest it and the only reason he’s helping is because I’m a college kid.

Is this a scam?

He’s got a HUGE page on Instagram.

Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

People pay for follows, likes, share, etc. Their process sounds fishy, with a high margin for loss or scam. Good luck.

Your not being very clear.  He wants a wallet address or your private keys?  Are you paying him $100? and then he mines and pays you back?  Or does he start mining using your wallet address as a payout address?

I would probably stay away from anything like this but I'm not sure what exactly you were offered.

If you have $100 in Bitcoin I would just keep it until the price increases and buy however much you could afford each month to add to your portfolio.

This is some of what he has said

You ain't sending the bitcoin to me, you are sending it directly to the antminer and immediately after it processes your bitcoin to 0.055 bitcoin which is $351 it sends it automatically to your wallet”

That's not the way Bitcoin miners work.  They are not vending machines.

So are you sending Bitcoin to an address?  Or are they asking for your private keys or wallet?

This guy is the supposed founder of cryptonary on Instagram

@torayk
@toraymax
@cryptonary

If that’s the case then it should be made known that this guy/company isn’t one to do business with

I would bet 1 btc that guy is a scammer, who wants to bet ? !

dude, scammers feed of greed and ignorance. you have to be greedy "justifiable" or ignorant "not very justifiable" or both  "unjustifiable" . ask yourself a simple a question, if he wanted to help you, why not just send you the money he is willing to help you with ? I do not know the guy you talking about , but i have been there long enough and I am 100% he is just trying to scam you. you can my words for it, or lose your 100$.

So what!

If one wants to know about Bitcoin then they should be going to these forums or Bitcoin.org.

Why would one go to instagram, whatever that is, to find out about Bitcoin?

You should exercise some common sense.  If you don't have much money you probably shouldn't be sending it to people you don't know.

Be careful.
