Ledger Nano X can have a mobile app, but it is not a mobile wallet, it is a hardware wallet which only should be listed among hardware wallets. Also surprising electrum is not part of the best mobile wallet, an open source wallet like elelctrum is best on computers but it is also having a mobile app which is still one of the best wallet to safe bitcoin. Coinomi went open source to close source, good for altcoins, but prefer electrum for bitcoin, while close source wallets should not be trusted because the source code is not available to the public, while most wallets existing now are close source, that is why I still prefer electrum and mycelium as mobile wallet. About edge wallet, I find it difficult to get my seed phrase, I think the wallet is not a privacy wallet in which seed phrase is not generated. Zengo will be the worst, because it requires email and probably not a private key wallet, I can not use such a wallet for bitcoin storage.

Looks like an article aimed at shit wallets while leaving out awesome bitcoin mobile wallet like Electrum.
It's my first time hearing about zengo wallet and exploring it a little show that one does not need a private key to access their account. Imagine if their website decided to go offline one day. I wonder how people would recover their funds. How the wallet is ranked number 1 according to the article is beyond my understanding  Huh

It's clear that the author of that article was shilling the unknown wallet, I don't even hear that Zengo wallet ever since.  So it's not convincing to use an unpopular wallet.

I tend to agree above that Electrum is the best wallet either it is on PC or android and why didn't include it in that article that OP showed above, when it comes to security, this is a good wallet AFAIK.
I rather consider this list of android wallet from Bitcoin.org, it includes the feature of the android wallet like most important is modifying the transaction fees, it has a rating of Control, Validation, Transparency, Environment, Privacy, and Fees..

Unless the wallet classification method is based on specific factors, the results will surely be wrong.
What are the criteria for classification of your wallet I mean the points on which 5 Best Bitcoin Wallets are ranked such as being open source, multi-currency, privacy, and others.

about zengo read this
Quote
I lost $75 betwwen them and MoonPay, in 2 hours. Customr service is fast but useless. Great app design, fast transactions, but it is a scam.

I strongly recommend that you do not use it with the amounts that you intend to store.

That's a very unorthodox choice of wallets you got there. The only brand that deserves a Top 5 spot is MyCelium in my opinion. Names like BlueWallet or Samourai are missing from the top of my head for Android wallets. For iOS, it's worth mentioning Breadwallet or BRD.

Veriphi has created a solid reference point for everyone looking for a bitcoin wallet. You can take a look at it here:

remove MyCelium and will get a best list for shit wallets that support too many altcoins more than updating them codes.
I haven't heard of Zengo wallet and I don't think it's good enough to be the best Android wallet.
Ledger Nano X is a hardware wallet.
Coinomi is best wallet on your link but it is closed source wallet

Seems like a promoted article from the #1 listed on the article. Its too far being in number one and I think it could be listed even on top 10 best wallet either for android or ios.

It is not matter which wallet is top, if you are in a educating way you will realize that each wallet has its own feature.
so start with simple one the try all of them.

Looks like an article aimed at shit wallets while leaving out awesome bitcoin mobile wallet like Electrum.

The mobile version of Electrum is really not a good wallet as compared to its desktop counterpart. For me personally it is a little bit sophisticated with a lackluster UI and it sometimes lags on me which doesn't really fit on a cellphone where you are expected to be always on the go and make quick hassle-free payments, tbh I'm more comfortable using a custodial wallet if I'll be paying something with my mobile phone. If Electrum wants to be a popular mobile wallet they should redesign the wallet to a better way for mobile users as you can really see a lot of their disappointments in their reviews about the app.

I don't like different compilations of the best wallets. Sometimes most popular and overrated wallets get status of "the best app", while new wallets are called nonames.
I use Ownr and Samourai, not sure they are the best.

Never heard of Ownr but I agree, best rated apps are seldom the best. I personally think Electrum is the best out there for all rounder while being open source and also non custodial but I have to admit their Android app pretty much is really bad and I'd never recommend it.

Samourai is a bit top end and too complicated for regular users.

Never heard of Ownr
It's a non-custodial BUT closed-source multicurrency wallet. I have never used it myself, but I also don't remember ever reading a scam accusation or a thread highlighting some shady behavior by the app. Ownr actually has a partnership with Bitfinex. KYC verified Bitfinex users can purchase crypto with credit cards through the Ownr wallet.

All mentioned wallets are widely known. What's about wallets that emerged recently?

it depends. there are certain basic characteristics that they must have to pass the first stage of being considered.
1. they must be completely open source. there is just no excuse for a bitcoin wallet to be closed source, even remotely like using a closed source library while the rest of it is open.
2. the wallet has to have basic features such as supporting sending and receiving from and to SegWit addresses, create all standard address types, ...
3. don't rely on a single centralized server and be more decentralized such as what electrum does by connecting to other nodes run by anyone (the vulenteers) instead of the company itself.

usually the new wallets that pop up fail in first point (open source) and don't have to be considered at all).

There is a FOMO brewing...

It's clear that the author of that article was shilling the unknown wallet, I don't even hear that Zengo wallet ever since.
Hence why I didn't click on the link.  OP's post reeks of shilling, and why would I experiment with a new, unproven bitcoin wallet for mobile when there's Electrum and Mycelium?  I wouldn't, of course.

And those two wallets I mentioned above really are the best two for Android (though some might argue that Mycelium doesn't deserve a spot in even the top 10).  I've tried a lot of them, and most either just suck or have questionable security or are multi-coin wallets.  In any case, I stopped storing crypto on my phone a long time ago--since I don't really need it on the go, why take the chance of losing it if I misplace my phone?

Experimenting isn't good advice in keeping valuable assets and either me, I won't use unproven wallets and risking even a small amount storing on them.
Open-source android wallets are always the best choice, like what you've mentioned above.  For android wallets might you can trust them with a small amount or for the hot wallet purpose, but if for the cold wallet I prefer always on the hardware wallets.

I used Electrum wallet for years and fortunately, I didn't encounter any trouble like hacking, losing your wallet or losing your phone, or even stealing or lost your device used.  Because for me, there's no safe wallet at all, and our responsibility to keep them safe, as long as you have control over the key, you'll be fine.

You nailed it and tend to agree with you, hardware wallets and desktop wallets over mobile wallets are far different.

If you install Mycelium and then suddenly remove all the crap they put inside and go only for the Bitcoin wallet, this one still stands out among the plethora of Android software wallet. Since 2014, Mycelium is my hot wallet and never had any troubles. I had to recover the seed only once and all went smooth.
I'd keep suggest it to people.
