Well, each investor expects to gain profit. So we really can't blame the majority to expect a yearly bull run. Yes, I believe it has become a norm since this is how people in the crypto space thinks. Real/true investors maintain an optimistic point of view despite of negativities. And for 2018, the mindset remains even if the bulls are not as aggressive as they used to be.

Many trader are now become holder because of the long downtrend. I liked the fact that in this time a patience to be a test that is quite heavy. For people who do not want to waste too much time of course it is very detrimental. But crypto is a different situation,there is no thing that can be predicted with the right. For me, the reason why cryptousers are expecting the quarter four as the start of the bull run is that, many holidays are occuring in this season, through that, many investors are having more time to invest and make decision. Especially the whales who are pulling the price of cryptocurrency up to the top.

This year is a bear market and i think it will last until Q2 2019 and we will not see a bullrun for this year. I think you're correct that we don't need to jump into cryptocurrency just for a bullrun to make a huge profit but instead let the block chain technology develop then mass adoption will come in the future.
