say what you like ...price is going down
I think he's saying that you can't attribute that to a specific model of graphics card - unless you have statistical data on the cards used for HVC mining, can show an increase in 750Ti use and correlated decrease in price; and even then it's merely correlated Wink

It's probably bitcoin dragging the price down, not the card.

750ti's more hash, less power! Big thanks to the 2 Christians and their ccminer v0.5 for unleashing the potential in these cards!

Look at the 10 day graph of Auroracoin [AUR] and then look at HVC again and rejoice.

Stay calm, don't panic - this is a turbulent, negative week for digital currency news from China and a MASSIVE 10%+ drop in price for BTC TODAY alone.

This is a long term game, not short term, more power for this 750Ti just gives even more incentive for GPU miners to get involved, and there's only been small drops/fluctuations in price, when it drops, people, myself included are buying it back up for under 4000sat. But the sales are a TINY fraction of the MASS (extra, comparatively) amount of HVC being mined daily now - the real bulk of miners, even the new GPU powerhouses are holding 90% of what they are mining.

What this coin really needs is more marketing, I believe this is coming next week from SyRenity who will be coordinating marketing activities and promoting the coin to exchanges and getting publicity out there - fact is we have a great, really strong coin here with some fantastic features. IF we can get some marketing going and real press, real publicity and get the word out there then whatever price were at now, 4000sat/5000sat, whatever, will pale in comparison, mining will explode 10-100x over the summer IF people really find out about the cooler chips and mining advantages over LTC and as the ASICs come in to mine LTC

This "battle" isn't about the day to day rise and fall around 4000-5000sat, it's about mass publicity and coin recognition, and then establishing the coin as strong, resistant, reliable over the summer months.

You can also reassure yourself here with the depth chart (https://cryptrader.com/charts/mintpal/hvc/btc) - great guy support, sure, a wall at 5000sat, but I couldn't care less if its 4000 or 5000 right now as I'm holding on till its $0.30 before i take anything out, and then holding the remainder of my 300k HVC right throughout the summer and beyond, I'd love to see HVC up there in the top 5 at the back end of this year, but its a marathon, not a sprint.

Sure it will go up, but i think not so high like x11 coins, i think the community is going to prefer x11..

a few questions - I just started mining HVC with one R9 280X and I have settings that I use for other currencies like LTC pretty well set for my board - would the same settings hold true to HVC?

thanks

a few questions - I just started mining HVC with one R9 280X and I have settings that I use for other currencies like LTC pretty well set for my board - would the same settings hold true to HVC?

thanks

You can get up to 16.5 MH/s with 280x using the following:

Quote
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

C:\Mining\cgminer-heavy\cgminer.exe --heavy --vote 1 -o <pool> -u <user> -p <password> -I 8 -g 1 -w 64 --gpu-engine 1180 --gpu-memclock 1500 --temp-cutoff 85

NOTE
1. Some have better hash with -w 256. But seems most have better results with -w 64.
2. You do not need to use -I (intensity) higher than 8 with 280x. With Intensity of 4, I get about 1-2% less hash rate than 8.
2. GPU core clock can be set between 1150 and 1200 depending on your card. You will need to use 1.2v or 1.25v in most cases.
3. Even with such high voltage and core clock, it uses about 40-50% less electricity than when mining LTC with the same settings.
4. Depending on your system, you may need to use --gpu-powertune 10 (or 20) to keep the card more stable.
5. Both zhpool and 1GH pool have a GPU specific port or password for higher fixed diff. Use them to get the most out of your GPU.

You can also clock the memory down to 1100 to save some power and heat. As a rule you can't go below 1100 because even though you set it lower the card will run at whatever the default speed is for your card. (IE: If you set it to 1000 and the default speed for your card is 1425 it will run at 1425) bat/conf file settings will not override this.

Well someone is seriously loading up on HVC while keeping the price low.. just look at recent transactions, and the volume traded in the last half hour.. I'd say pre-pump.

If you clock it down to 1100, you actually lose about 5-10% in hash rate. So it's all relative.
Also, no 280x has a problem changing its clock speed. Just use Trixx to change voltage/clock.

Was thinking the same thing.  That 5110 bid got dumped on heavy though.

Good part of today's drop in almost all alts, not just HVC, I like to attribute to people getting scared of the BTC sell off and wanting to convert to fiat in anticipation of an even bigger drop in the coming days.
