If new miner would come out people would be re-downloading and since default block vote within the miner is 1 it might help lower vote as well.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Still not sure who's finding those 'other' blocks to begin with, if anybody knows if there's an active pool missing, let me know.  Otherwise I guess it's just somebody|ies with a fair bit of hashing power Smiley

I'm wondering if it is the Chinese pool listed on page 1? Just a guess.

How many accounts did you create to support nonce pool?
I think the best is 1gh

I have just 1 account, not sure I follow the question tho. 1Gh is great and they were the first to lower the default vote, for that I have tremendous respect, but putting all our hashing power into one pool isn't good for the network. We need a few solid pools, not just 1 huge one.

Looks like I will make more coin at Nonce than I was at Zhpool! Will report back after 24 hours. Good to see more miners moving over to Nonce!

Last 10 blocks each:
Nonce: 307.7 and dropping fast as the last 5 out of 6 blocks have a vote count of 1 <-- nice
ZHPool: 467.4 average for the last 10 blocks

Could be dumb luck but it looks like the word is getting out to lower votes!

PS I like getting 50+ coins a pop at Nonce right now per block.

Just pointed my 240 Mh to Nonce.

Let's see how it goes, I was getting about 1100-1300/day coins on 1GH with them,
If I was solo mining I would have got atleast 1650+ for the past few days, because each of these 3 gets atleast 1 block daily.

I've been mining Heavycoin for a bit now. What's the consensus on votes? I don't feel like fishing through 352 pages, and noticed someone mentioning it on this page.

What should I change it to?

Your choice but 1 would be fine. Smiley

Lower block reward extends current mining phase. See http://heavycoin.github.io/about.html for details (click "decentralized voting" tab).

Vote 1 please. A longer mint phase benefits everyone. I actually dropped mine to 0.

Good to see you over there. I was on Zhpool and was getting 275 HVC daily, in 18 hours at nonce Ive got 265 HVC. I'll be sticking with Nonce. The bigger payouts are nice too.

Maybe.  I never got that thing to load and assumed it was either dead or simply doesn't have a webpage Smiley

Of the pools listed:

heavycoin.miningpoolhub.comhealthy (but see note on 'luck')

What boost ? I can see 1GH having 40x more hashrate than nonce ? The last block on nonce was 5h ago ?

Excellent, thank you.

Pulled rig off of Zhpool and moved to nonce pool. Hope to see more miners do the same, at least until Zhpool removes the 1024 default vote.

hm... we can do that if you need us to make the deicision for you.

Actually, we will not suggest our minners' votes now and future, minners should make their own choice per their own decision.

And, we don't think low voting do much benifit to HeavyCoin community but only the price when you dump your coins for money.

We have worked or been working on ---

1. We have completed HeavyCoin voting system merged to latest MPOS release, and share all the source code we are running to HeavyCoin developper.

2. We tested HVC algo with FPGA, and publish the result to community, giving you the confidence in HeavyCoin technically.

3. We are helping choosing and pushing a nice name to the biggest market - China. Currently on one of the biggest Chinese info site http://yibite.com/download/112.html

4. We are sitll waiting for keccak512 to choose the new logo, we are planning producing some really nice custom gift for our minners(as reward) and the community(for sale with HVC) I am not supposed to annouce this at this time.

5. We devoted 8 delicated servers to run a dedicated pool for HeavyCoin, those cost us everyday, but we have not dump one single HVC to market.

We have the confidence in HVC, we are trying to help as we can.
Pumping the price? that is the last thing we do.

Anyway, you have your choice to mine at any HVC pool, and your vote.

I'm doing a research project on coin distribution for both older and new coins. I'm interested on gathering some data for top addresses and how much of the coins the top100 have. This along with the number of people (addresses) actually holding any amount of coins.

I have some info from bitinfocharts on a few coins but I really do need some data on other coins along with less exposed or new ones.

If anyone knows an explorer with this feature drop a line.

And, we don't think low voting do much benifit to HeavyCoin community but only the price when you dump your coins for money.

As a pool operator I'm surprised you don't get it as it's just simple math.  Plus we've been discussing it in the forum the past week.  It seems you only care about "price to dump" your coin for.  I guess "rape and pillage" is one way to go if you're a pool operator but that is not good for the rest of us. And honestly you yourself could make more off of a lower vote count.

ZHPool, a question for you.  Assuming voting stays the same.  What do you think will happen to both your pool and HVC in general if the reward per block suddenly drops from 550 coins to 5 coins?  This could very well happen when the coin enters the sustain phase. Remember the sustain phase will not pay more then 8 HVC per block (at the highest) regardless of vote count!

If there is NOT a smooth transition from the current block reward down to under 10 HVC there could be problems entering the sustain phase.

If you assume the voting stays about the same and the value of the coin stays about the same then all of a sudden the coin will be worth about 100 times less to mine when phase 3 (sustain) takes affect. Your HVC pool may very well die and maybe the coin too.

Now let me propose a different strategy:  People start voting much lower.  This will increase difficulty but will also expand the mint phase. The market will slowly adjust and the value of HVC will go up as the difficulty goes up because they coin is harder to mine.  Nothing is going to happen overnight BUT with the reward per block slowly getting smaller and the value of HVC getting bigger they will "cover/complement" each other.

This allows the reward per block reward to get smaller and smaller over the next couple of months while HVC increases in value.  If done correctly then the reward per block won't be 550 but maybe 50 or so.  There will not be such a drastic drop off in reward going into the sustain phase.

PLUS, by reducing the vote count it will EXTEND the mint phase which in turn givse more time for the value of HVC to adjust.

Translation, you "can" make more as a pool operator by helping to extend the mint phase. You surely can make more long term by having the coin still alive and doing well in 3 months!

Just for clarification: No one is asking to "force" anyone to do anything.  All we are suggesting is replacing the default vote count in your samples with a vote count of 1.  Users are still free to change it to whatever they choose.

I would be happy to put together a 5 or 6 line paragraph explaining the vote parameter you could include with the configs.

I would be happy to take this offline to PM or email if you like.  I'd first love to "win you over" personally first.  At best it would be good for your pool and the worst case would probably be "neutral" to your pool.

Very well said. A high vote will cause the mint phase to ran out quickly, and then suddenly during the sustain phase the block reward goes down to 5-8 HVC, which is extremely sudden and dangerous, and to my prediction, the coin will not survive.

Low votes will cause the mint phase to extend much longer, a slow gradual decrease in the block rewards which will correspond to an increase in the price of the coin, and the whole ecosystem will be ready for the sustain phase. I'm really shocked that pool managers/big miners do not seem to get this key issue.

Please everyone, vote low, and dear pool managers, set your defaults to a low value. We need this. It's not about whales to make short term profit, it's about the long-term survival of HVC.

Thank you for your willingness to change the  default vote. You have a great pool and have been active in the HVC community and supportive of the coin, which is why it was so surprising that the vote was set so high.

PLUS, by reducing the vote count it will EXTEND the mint phase which in turn givse more time for the value of HVC to adjust.

I like your strategy!

Yes! Long term mining of mint phase will benefit everyone!

After 24 hours of mining at Nonce pool with 5* 750ti's I got 395 HVC!!   Grin
Vs 275 in 24 hours at zhpool.
If you do switch I recommend giving it 24 hours before you decide to stay or go.
