I wonder if Jacob Wohl will be accountable for slander laws.

Avenatti also floated the possibility of taking legal action against TMZ for the story, which originally identified the woman involved as the lawyer’s estranged wife, Lisa-Storie Avenatti. He tweeted that the person who wrote and approved the article “better get their checkbook ready” because the story was “purposely malicious and false.”

“It was designed to harm Lisa, me and my family and we are going to expose TMZ for what they did,” he tweeted. “No journalist should rely on or defend garbage like that.”

...

I happen to be a registered Democrat, who usually votes the party line. Don't put me in a box of "they."  Roll Eyes

But you may be one of the "old style Democrats."

You know, one who understand what they meant and stood for about thirty microseconds ago.

Pleas absolve yourself of this sin and get with the program.

Avennatti is already known to be a porn lawyer and at that may be involve in some acts that may contradict the domestic law of the land, may be he will get himself out of this and move on with contesting for his election. But I don't think the arrest has any thing to do with his politics except if being convicted by the legal system.

Ahaha. The charges were dropped in LA.

The charges were not dropped, the DA declined to bring felony charges based on the evidence. This is far from evidence of Creepy Porn Lawyer's proof of innocence.

1 - I don't think there is any evidence that Wohl was behind Avenatti's arrest. I haven't seen any.

The fact that the victim was Avenatti's (ex) girlfriend instead of his ex wife, as briefly reported by TMZ is not going to give Avenatti a cause of action for libel. This discrepancy would only have a nominal impact on his reputation. The reporting that Avenatti said "she hit me first" when he was in the apartment building is most damaging to his reputation, and to my knowledge, this has not been refuted by Avenatti.

According to a report that was first reported by tmz, Michael Avenatti aka the Creepy Porn Lawyer has been arrested on Domestic Violence charges.

According to TMZ's sources, Avenatti was involved in possibly two Domestic Violence incidents, one yesterday, and one today.

Avenatti represents porn star Stormy Daniels and is planning on running for President in 2020 as a democrat. If Avenatti really was involved in multiple DV incidents, he should fit right in at the DNC, based on some of the people Democrats have stood behind this recent election cycle.

Avenatti also was pushing a narrative, that IMO, was false on its face, that now Justice Kavanaugh was involved in multiple gang rape parties in high school in the 1980s. I wonder if he will advocate to receive the same standard of due process himself that he was pushing for Justice Kavanaugh to receive.

I am curious to know if this will derail or enhance his chances of getting the Presidential nomination from the Democratic party, and if this will impact his ability to practice law in CA (and elsewhere).

More bad news out of the Avenatti camp this morning. Stormy Daniels has accused him of foul play.

This is perfectly fine, and even advantageous. Democrats like bad-boy candidates. These arrests and charges are features not bugs.

I wonder how an attorney that stole money from a hot babe of a porn star would be treated in prison.

She isn't that attractive. Maybe 10 years ago (maybe). I would be more worried about what they think of sleazy lawyers if I were him lol.

There is a picture of her with Trump in 2006, she was not attractive in that picture.

Based on the charges he is facing, I don't see Avenatti ever working as a lawyer, or possibly professionally again. He might get a book deal, but depending on the specific circumstances, he might not see that money depending on the specific circumstances regarding what his book is about and the charges surrounding his relationship with Daniels.

You mean down in the big house they're going to put a blonde wig on him before they bend him over?

Avenatti was apparently just sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for his extortion scheme and according to some reports was crying when he heard the sentence.

Oh no, how unfortunate.

Stormy Daniels has a poor taste in lawyers (and men).

https://thehill.com/homenews/media/387325-michael-avenatti-has-appeared-on-cnn-and-msnbc-108-times-since-march-7-says

Remember when the media gave this clown over a hundred TV appearances because he spouted the right lines against Trump? And somehow, he was a credible source for his allegations against Brett Kavanaugh when he represented a client that claimed she was raped by him (which was false, btw). How the mighty has fallen.

Yea, cable TV news shows were only bringing him on because of what he was saying, not his expertise in anything.

When he was making his daily news appearances, he was likely already in trouble with the law, it just hadn't been public yet.

I think it would have been hilarious if he actually made it to any of the Democratic debates. He was really aggressive when he talked, and would have made the debates even more of a train wreck.
