I think, you need to read a lot of articles about crypto currencies around the internet. Bitcointalk.org is a good place to learn with, but you need to visit other sites too, icobench.com, coinmarketcap.com and many more. Also, make sure that you understand this market , a market of full of interesting ideas and greedy person/project. So better to learn some scam works from the past than falling on their trap. For this, you will understand how risk you may possible encounter as a crypto participant.

Only you can consider investing in coins. But you should start with a small investment. You can also join bounty campaigns.
