In what ways are we going to sort the threads to find the meritable posts..
Is it going to be the duty of our MODS or a bot

It would likely be done automatically as forum function, just like you can sort threads by views, date, user etc. It could even be a new link under these:

Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.
Watchlist

You could have sort threads by merit link in every board which would order them for you. Would be helpful to find the worse spam threads for locking or trashing as well as the spam threads with no merit will go to the bottom. I'd like to see this anyway. Might help in finding the worthwhile threads in amongst all the trash.

If would be even nicer if some of these sorting options could be restricted by a time interval. For example, the most read or merited threads over the last 30 days or whatever period of time one choses.
Specifically on merited threads, it could also be interesting to see the number of meriters on the thread and the number of merited people. That gives an indication of how many people are involved in the merit being awarded on a given thread, although I’m fully aware this is wishful thinking, at least with the current software.

I gave those features a go, and added them to the Merit Dashboard some time ago.

It is especially required for the following subs IMHO...
1. Bitcoin Discussion
2. Development & Technical Discussion
3. Beginners & Help
In what ways are we going to sort the threads to find the meritable posts..
Is it going to be the duty of our MODS or a bot

Even this boards you mentioned, each and every day, users get merited on such boards..

If only the BD section could reduce the crap that gets scribbled down there, then maybe our MODS would have the time to surf through for merits
But for now they are actually surfing to trash threads, ban bumpers and lock redundant topics
Did you even understand the basic of what OP suggested?
