The currency exchange board should have a sub-board for minor exchanges, something like <$100, where people can use escrow and middlemen for intermediary services, high transactions usually involve bank accounts and require more advanced certifications.
I think it would make the section more accurate and less profitable for possible scammers. And we should have a board like this for Altcoins too, the exchanges are currently mixed with unrelated content in the main board.
Admin could profit from sticky threads of reputable people offering those services as well.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

There are many ways that you can make transactions between cryptocurrencies, faster and safer. The advantage of that section is in making PayPal transfers and other deals that need trust among members, it appears from the members' contributions and trust rate. escrow does not play an important role. And we should have a board like this for Altcoins too
Binance does this and more.

I agree with the opening post. I'm starting to look at the purchase of alternative cryptos, and the claiming of my forked coins. I did have a look at the trading boards, but I didn't feel safe or comfortable with the trading that was going on there.
If Bitcoin Talk offers members who can be trusted to act as escrow, it ought to be able to list members who can be trusted enough not to need escrow. I've bought Bitcoin in three transaction with JackG, and I haven't felt that I needed escrow. I'm sure that there are several other members who are just as trustworthy.
I wouldn't trust PayPal though, I still believe it to be more concerned with its profits, than the welfare of its users.

Didn't QuickSeller had bunches of positive feedback from a lot of DT. He was once offering escrow too and everything was going fair but what happened later? Lauda had also a good reputation but later s/he had done a unfair deal. If the forum itself suggests some escrow and they end up scamming people, who will bear the loss? By the way, I can't remember who said, "theymos has a trust issue and that's why forum account recovery has gotten worst." Therefore, there is 0 possibilty of having such kinda bitcointalk endorsed escrow.
I neither have trust issue with Jet Cash nor with jackg, I was trying to clear the scenerio what can happen in future.

Ultimately you need to trust your own judgement. Look how many people still trust paypal for example, and that is after years of reports about bad experiences and warnings. I won't even start to talk about fiat banks. Escrow.com went through a really bad period just after the business was sold, and I don't know if they have recovered their reputation, as I am using my domain name registrar for escrow now. Probably the best answer is to consider the recovery options in the event that things do go wrong. I tend to be fairly open, so it wouldn't be too difficult to track me down if you are in the UK. I remember about 15 years ago there was a network of webmasters, and they were distributed around the globe. They offered to visit miscreants on behalf of other members of the network. Maybe Bitcoin Talk needs a service like this.

I think we should never trust enough to let down our guard. Of course people have varying degrees of skepticism. And it's not a right or wrong scenario. If you trust someone eniugbto not need an escrow you could be right, and if you don't you could also be right.
It's all a personal decision and should be unrelated to the forum. As the trust system is unregulated. It is not a recommendations made by Bitcointalk. We are all responsible for ourselves here.

I have to disagree with you (the amount of topics [current] that belong to such category is "zero [based on its first page]", succeeding pages [probably] have similar [insignificant] results).
And we should have a board like this for Altcoins too, the exchanges are currently mixed with unrelated content in the main board.

And yet, I think OP is on to something Let me suggest the opposite: create a child board for large transactions. It's always Newbies who post crap like this: [WTB] 1000BTC in cash, +3% grossSelling 100.000 BTC 6% Discount Buying 10k BTCI can't imagine they aren't scammers, and I think any of them has a very good day if they manage to scam $200 "as a test". So far, I've never seen any evidence of owning any Bitcoins from any of the large "sellers". Moving them to a dedicated board, kinda like Investor-based games, could clean up the rest of the board.

Oh yeah, and he was on DT as well before he started thinking that "self-escrowing" deals was honest and acceptable. I don't have a link to the entire debacle, but I'm sure you could find it with a little searching. Seems like most people wanting to exchange bitcoin for fiat are trying to do so with Paypal, and in those cases with the risk of chargebacks, escrow is pretty useless. Occasionally I see offers for bank wire transfers or some other types of services, but Paypal seems to dominate the Currency Exchange section. There are certainly members who've done PP deals for a long time with no record of scamming, but it's always risky. All it would take is a hacked or sold account or someone deciding it's time to pull an exit scam, and you're screwed. Altcoin transactions get lumped in with the main discussion in the altcoin section? I didn't know that. I thought Currency Exchange was for any type of cryptocurrency. Guess I haven't been paying enough attention to that, but if there's enough buying/selling offers for altcoins, I do think it should have a child board in the altcoin section.

I think that is a great idea. As Bitcoin becomes more useful for wealth protection rather than a general payment service, altcoins will become more important for payments. Cross-chain exchanges, and coin purchases with fiat are becoming more common, and can only increase in the future.

As well as what The Pharmacist said, I think we should have two boards in teh currency exchange section of bitcoin, one for selling bitcoin and one for buying it. No on really goes with the intention of doing both (unless you're me ) so ti would make more sense to split the two up individually. I'd say if you're going to put figures on it. There should be three types of each buy and sell board: 1. Buy <$100 worth 2. Buy <$10000 worth 3. Buy large amounts and then 1. Sell <$100 worth 2. Sell <$10000 worth 3. Sell large amoutns
