Well, I would say that nothing in life is 100 percent guaranteed, Life itself is not. But daily we put in our best in life to make it worth living. You are so on point mate, it is better to try than not to try at all, savings is not enough to keep one financially free for life because every blessed day comes with its own challenge that will tend to take that savings away and except you have a river that never runs dry, you might not meet up.

So, it better to invest in lots of businesses no matter how risky they seems, there is 50% possibility of  whatever business we risk to be success, life is full of risk generally and except we take it before we can come out with a life decision.
