It is not possible to know the private key from a bitcoin (other way around works however). If that were the case, then everyone's funds would be stolen.

However, if you are talking about an address in your wallet which you created (with a 12 or 24 word seed), then you can retrieve the private.

If the latter is the case, please specify the wallet you are using so we can help you.

Thanks for reading my post.

It isn't possible to know about private key if he /she mistakenly open it for all or applied in any projects or Campaign. if one done it ,all assets will steal by hackers.

Think about it. If a person has a list of private keys with some bitcoin on it, why would the person upload it on a website? Wouldn't it be more profitable for the hacker to steal the bitcoin himself? This makes completely no sense. If you want to make money, stop snooping around trying to find a way to earn free or easy money.

If its possible then no one will stay to bitcoin because there's someone that can steal all of our bitcoins. Why you want to know if its possible to know others private key? You can generate your own private key with a new set of bitcoin address.

But those wallets are totally empty and you are the one to fill it. I don't know what's on your mind for asking this question because its really makes no sense for someone that's asking like "hey what's your bank account details + pincode?".

This is absolutely shallow types question that means you have not enough knowledge of cryptocurrency. No bro it is not possible to know about your private key if you did not make it open for all. If you do so you must lose all the assets that you have so don't worry keep learning.

Hi ! I would like to know if it is possible to know the private key of a bitcoin address.

Thanks !

When you see a bitcoin address what did come to your mind?  Did you think for this address private key is also created afterwards after creating address?
Did you think that  you can generate private key of address by hit and trial?

Actually , Private key is created first and then public key and then address are generated. They are generated by complex mathematical function so you cannot backtrace them. That's why you should not believe in any third party that is providing you directly the wallet address (because they already have private key and they are in full control of your funds)

Of course it is not possible "Private key" I mean a special supposed not to know anyone and do not share with anyone

Creates the Private key Using one-way functions
This means that it is impossible to know the Private key From public key !

imagine everyone can steal others  Grin

You can create Wallets Without use Internet (Actually This Right and best way)

all Wallets Without  Access private key and have email to Access (Centralized Services like exchange )
For example coinpayment

I Think the best way Offline Wallet and Hard ware wallets and Paper wallet

+ Backup All these ways And to follow proper roads (safety)

All this comes from learning And search

Yes. And it is very easy. This is a web page with all possible addresses and private keys
https://lbc.cryptoguru.org/dio/1
Just search the private key to your address from there (it is there) and that is it.

+1. Also, if you generate a wallet on your computer, NEVER save your private key on your computer or in your password manager. Even in Dropbox. ALWAYS write down your private key on a piece of paper and store it in a safe place.

You're going to write down every private key for every adress you use? Didn't think so.
This isn't practical at all when you're frequently transacting with bitcoin. (As i suspect many here are.) It's an unnecessary hassle ontop of that as well.

Also, what about handwriting/spelling mistakes? A private key is 50+ characters. Misspelling a 5 for an S is easily done..

that is why different types of wallets exist for different purposes and you can use as many alternatives as you like.
for example a paper wallet where you write down only 1 private key that stores the bulk of your bitcoins in it that you put aside and don't touch for a long time.
another hot desktop wallet that contains a smaller amount that you are "transacting frequently" using a full node like Core or an SPV wallet like Electrum.
or if you want to keep a larger amount in hot wallet then use a hardware wallet as an alternative that you can access frequently but is safe.

OP should have come across an Axiom on this forum that"If you and you alone is not privy to your private keys, then you're not the owner of your coins/investments/assets"

Whatever you do it's always Your private information and if possible shouldn't be shared with any individual(except maybe a trusted one)

Even when transacting deals with other parties, only the public keys could be made available to the other end,the privates keys should and always remain PRIVATE

No mate there is no chance to know about your private key of a bitcoin address. For more security, you need to use a password manager for the best security. In fact, you should not be worried about the private key no one can watch it.

As far as I know, it would take more than 10 years to find a private key to the address, so you can not worry about it. Thus, it is very difficult to crack the address.

no, it is not "difficult to crack" a bitcoin address, it is impossible to do so.

as for 10 years, if you mean going in reverse from address to private key then again it is impossible. it will take until the end of universe to do that not 10 years!

Ok..so you wanna see a private key?

I created this paper wallet last year and loaded it with Bitcoin.

I have exposed the public and private key. The wallet is BIP32 password protected.

You are welcome to have the Bitcoin loaded into it if you can crack it. So far nobody has.  Goodluck

you mean directory.io clone like this:
Directory.io - Now with balances! (doesn't seem to work anymore)
Bitcoinlist.io | Find Bitcoin Addresses with Coins | Hack the Network (CAUTION, read below)
https://lbc.cryptoguru.org/dio/1 by Large Bitcoin Collider Thread 2.0
read those threads and fully understand what they are before playing with those pages Cool

WARNING:
DO NOT search your private keys on the site
DO NOT use any private keys and addresses generated by the site

Is not possible to find the private key of bitcoin address, you can only get your own private keys when generate, create a new bitcoin wallet on different apps, bitcoin core, electrum, or others. Also you can't bruteforce a private key because is impossible and will. The videos or story that someone can find any bitcoin private key is a scam and you will get virused if download software they give or they will ask money for it and you will lose money.

Depends what you mean.
You MUST know private key to operate address, to send from it.
You CANT know private key if you didn't create this address (you can't break it).

it is not possible to know the private key of bitcoin... private key is private, and only made available to the originator of the encrypted content.
