<...>Could it be theymos removed the transaction, but not the Merit and sMerit added to Storx' account?
That’s what I make it. The @Storx’s account is off by those 50 Merits (50 more merits on profile than what the 100 initial Merits + sum(TXs) can justify).
Strangely enough, @Storx received 51 additional sMerits over the following 2 days after the "incident" (from multiple users in 8TXs), but went missing since then (has not logged-in since 19/07/2018).

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Yeah, actually I wouldn't mind seeing a breakdown of how many merits all the Legendaries have earned.  I suspect there's an easy way of seeing that data, but I don't know how to do it myself.  Does Vod's BPIP site have a way to collate that info?

I know of only a handful of Legendary members who've actually earned more than 1000 merits, and I know there are some lower-ranked members who've done it but don't yet have enough activity to rank up, but there still aren't all that many of them as far as I know.

Edit:

That's it?  Wow, I thought there were more than that--but on the other hand, the only members who came immediately to mind were hilariousandco and LoyceV.  Forgot about suchmoon for a minute, and wasn't aware of Last of the V8s' inclusion on that list.

Now that you told me how you got that data, I'm pretty sure I could have found it myself.  I haven't visited the BPIP site in a while and forget that it's a relatively simple thing to compile numbers like that.  Thanks, tho.

Does it take account of the airdrop merits. I'm 60 away, because I got 500 as a Hero.

No, those are earned merits.

I understand that, but I wondered if it assumed that all legendaries started with 1,000, or if it knew they had been promoted to legendary, so they should have a lower start count.
Ah, that I don't know.  I know the Legendaries listed above earned 1000 and that's all I was interested in--not that ranking up to Legendary by earning merits is less impressive, because it isn't.  It's more of a feat that few members will be able to pull off in their lifetimes.

@Coin-1 you will make an update soon or you are done with this stuff?

As I can see, many people are interested in the list of users who have a lot of sMerits. Smiley

I updated my post on the first page a few minutes ago.

There are some changes in this TOP-200. DdmrDdmr became a merit source and now he has sent his sMerits and left the list.

The total amount of earned sMerits continues to increase. All members currently hold 40961 sMerits.

I don't get it Sad
Did you check the other 2 involved users too? My merit.all.txt is based on theymos' data dump. Each week, I overwrite the past 113 days with the most recent 120 days. I didn't remove those 3 transactions that theymos did manually. That means they were removed from theymos' data dump at the time.

I usually download the file "merit.txt.xz" as soon as possible. I can ensure you that these three merit transfer transactions were included in the published dump:
Code:
...
1531821996 50 3286845.msg34284719 554 64734
...
1531821834 50 2674194.msg36115570 554 516296
...
1531804428 50 4416705.msg39872242 554 1025965
...

It seems that Vod also downloaded this merit dump.

It's correct.

Current Merit  331
Has received 131 merit 3 times, from 3 profiles
It's incorrect because on January 24, 2018, vitruvio has been credited with 250 airdropped merits.

It's also incorrect because on January 24, 2018, willdono has been credited with 100 airdropped merits.

Perhaps theymos later restored one of the deleted transactions because Storx had already sent those merits.

Weekly update.

41760 earned sMerits are currently owned by all users. It is interesting that all Members hold about 35% of those sMerits. I suppose that they do not send their sMerits to others, because each user wants to have several available sMerits in reserve, but the number of all Members is quite large.

The table has been updated again.

The number of available sMerits is still growing. 8382 users currently have 43097 sMerits earned.

I also created a chart that shows how many sMerits earned is held by all non-banned users. I excluded the members who are in the list of banned users. Thanks to LoyceV for updating it.

According to these statistics, all banned users currently hold about 3000 sMerits.

I added this image to my post on the first page.

My post on the first page has been updated.

I also published monthly statistics for February 2019, as I usually do in my thread "TOP-200 most generous users giving merits". This list shows users who have earned a lot of sMerits for the previous month.

Honestly, I was surprised to see the merit source achow101 rated 6th on this list. As I can see, he did not send any merit in February 2019. Embarrassed

guess i will never be on this list, i always empty my bag , i never understand the logic behind Hodling merit , IMO "today" is always the best time to send merit, the forum is full of shitposters, post quality is quite low, thus and we need to support even half-good posts to stand out of the spam crowed, many people eventually get discouraged and leave, this is why the forum is getting worse in terms of quality to shitpost ratio.
