The fork in Jan doesn't include Progpow, just reward reduction to 2 ETH. Not sure when's the next time it can be implemented, if it ever will be.

I'm not sure that the developers will implement hardfork Constantinople in January. They have the opportunity to extend the deadline.

In the picture it says delivery in April 2019. We don't know what will happen until then, we cannot predict the future, but chances are difficulty will go up to a point where even that jawdropping stats now of 1400 mh/s with just 1000w, which means it consumes the same as one mining rig but is efficient almost ten times more, may become obsolote in April 2019.

Anyway if it were to be shipped immediately or with 2-3 weeks at maximum I think it would be a good buy.

And ROI <4 months is only wishful thinking - if they release a lot of machines the difficulty will automatically rise up. We've seen it dozen times. I wonder if those will be able to do anything more, like video rendering and stuff like data analysis?

So i take it they have been mining with this for the last few months and finally now decide to release it to the public, when mining is hardly profitable for GPUs.

They probably reached the point where they will make more profit selling these machines in April then mining with them directly themselves. And people will always get suckered in one way or another.

You are right. They use it at first for themselves. It is a real killer of GPU mining with 4-5 times better energy efficiency. It will definitely accelerate the transition to PoS of Ethereum.
