Fan is a 6k RPM PWM 92x38mm, but keep in mind all device programing is based on this fan...if the hardware monitor detects RPMs out of range it will auto-shutdown the miner. Fan monitoring is pretty lax, and you can probably get away with a 3-4k RPM fan but in that case it probably wont be able to cool past balanced mode (there is still a over temperature shutdown for that case if the fan can't keep up so you should still be fine).

I overbuild all my products for the worse case scenario, and the fan/heatsink has to be able to keep up in a wide range of temperatures/environments so while the fan is pretty quiet in eco I could have obviously gone quieter but sacrificed top end cooling ability.

I have two and set them both up last night. I setup the first one and added to my wireless. Then I powered on and setup the second one and it gave me a struggle after I added to wireless. It seemed to me they stepped on each other because the first one quit mining. But its possible I screwed up because I was on NyQuil so I switched one back to wired and both hashing away. I'd like to change the dns name from local to local2 or something just to keep them straight on my network. How can I do that?

BTW, left them both set to default and hashing away at about 102HM. And I can't believe how easy the mining interface is to configure.

Best way to set up multiple right now is to just power one on a time, find its IP address set it up, power it down, power up the second one and repeat, then power on the first.

Either way the wifi is buggy right now, but there is no reason why they both should not work. Can you shoot me a screen shot of the Network info side panel for both machines when you get the chance?

I did not power the first one off after I configured it to just be on wireless so I'll try to re-config the second one once I power down first.
Here's what I did. powered up first one and walked through the initial setup (which was great BTW). Then I enabled wireless, connected to wifi and rebooted without cat 5 plugged in. Once that one was back up and hashing I powered on the second one and repeated the steps. Then I think the first one stopped after I rebooted the second without cat 5.
But its quite possible its user error as I have the flu bug and I trying to rush the setup so I could just relax. if I can't get them both on wifi I'll send the screenshots.

Yea sorry about your shipment...not sure whats going on but ill call fedex and find out. Probably would have been faster to ship east coast shipments USPS Priority but I don't trust them with $300 packages.

Order # 1209 was received at Portugal and two more Apollos are working.
The screws on the sides came without tightening but it was easy to tighten.
Only problem was having to pay an additional $ 95 for each at Customs  Sad !

95 each?? Isn’t import VAT ~17%? Should not be more than $50.

So after 16 city tour of usa my gear arrived.

As feared it is smashed.

inputs look not to be broken

not enough packing

box looks untouched with no marks.  but my unit must of had a ton of handling.

Scanned at every city it stopped in and a few cities had multiple scans

so it was moved, scanned  and handled 19 or 20 times.

Looks like I need both panels  as both are smashed.

Sigh...shipping you out new panels priority from here...I have them in stock in brooklyn so you should have them monday.

Its a combination of the factory over tightening the heatsink attachment screws and not enough padding in the box...either way both issues have been corrected but I'm sure there are more broken side panels since there was a bunch of units in the same truck going from Cali to east coast.

Just shoot me a PM with your order number and pictures if your units come damaged.

FYI the sub-assembly is built like a tank, so don't worry about functionality...just double check that the metal front case is not bent to the point that its touching anything on the PCBs on the back and you should be fine to start it up.

May I ask what you are mining and what kind of return are you seeing?

I received mine too !

With a small transport damage Undecided on both sides !

https://up.picr.de/34545965il.jpg     https://up.picr.de/34545976pr.jpg

Will post laters if the miner works fine or if there is an other damage inside too !

Update :

Mining works great !

https://up.picr.de/34547053uw.png

Looks like its only the transport damage , as far the miner works i am fine with that !

VAT is different from country to country here in the EU. Here is 23% and I paid even more $ 45 in administrative expenses! I will buy more when available from the your European retailer.

Hi I have 2 x Apollo miners and both display the same behaviour.

I have an orange light flashing on the front of the unit and it never changes from that.
I have tried different Micro SD cards (SanDisk 16 GB)
Used Etcher to burn the image on both a Windows and Mac OS device
PSU is a Corsair RXM80 Gold 1000w
I have an ethernet cable direct from the unit to the router (IP Scan can't see the device)

I don't think its booting correctly....

Any ideas?

Thanks

__________________________________________________

Posting this here for now until I have time to write up and put up proper instructions on the website and here. Sorry for the quick post but need to make sure my time is dedicated to making sure all pre-order are shipped out in a timely fashion before I can sit down and concentrate on this stuff.

Download image here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/apolloimage/apollo_final.img.zip

Unzip it

run a sha256 checksum on it should be (not required but should check it in case of corrupted download if your having issues)
906bbdb9b9a195edea5fd3302b258ae28e6049c04a610698d253132f5dee50eb

Use a clone tool like etcher to clone the unzipped image to your SD card (or use dd) it MUST be a bit copy that overwrites the whole SD card and not just a partition so make sure whatever tool you use can do that

stick the SD card into the Apollo (the slot is underneath where the blue controller is)

plug in your ethernet cable and power her up!

you should see ethernet lights flashing, and after a few seconds the front LED should start flashing yellow...wait a min or two until its fully booted up and connected to your local network...it should start mining right away and you'll see lots of green and red blinky lights.

Go to a web browser on a device thats connected to your local network (both computers and phones/tablets should work) and go to futurebit.local (this might not work for everyone)

If futurebit.local does not work your going to manually have to find the IP address of the device on your network...just use any ip scanner that can display a hostname (futurebit is the devices hostname) otherwise just go down the list and enter the address of the active IPs until you see the Apollo UI load.

Thats it! The rest we hopefully made intuitive and easy enough that I don't need to explain it...set up your pool and save and you should be good to go!

DONT do anything stupid with settings until I have a full writeup, and keep the miner in ECO mode for now.

Please post and issues and bugs here...there will probably be a bunch since this is the first release of a brand new image/software. Also keep in mind we were overly cautious on the hardware controls so fan will probably be louder than it needs to be in eco mode, and miner will shutdown more than it needs too on the slightest error....need to make sure everything is safe and working properly before we relax this stuff on future releases.

Enjoy!

That means your devices are not getting an internet connection from your router. Double check that there is not issues with your ethernet cable/router settings (router needs to be set to provide automatic DHCP).
