I recently deposited $100 USD to a Chase Bank near home to be posted to my MtGox account.

MtGox made an error when they posted it to my account and posted $200 USD.  As soon as I saw the error I sent them the following email.

Yesterday I deposited $100 US in my local Chase bank. Today I find you
credited my account with $200. While the extra $100 would be nice to have, I
felt I had to let you know.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks,

I soon received the following email.

Hello Phil,

In gratitude for reporting this to us, please keep the extra $100. Thank you once again for your continued support to Mt.Gox.

Thanks,

MtGox.com Team

Is that great customer service or what?

Not on this end.  $100 will buy a lot of pizza.  LOL

Why is anyone surprised MtGox could give away $100 easily. They are an exchange. If they're not flat out printing their own money, they just influence the exchange rate to cover their losses.

Yeah, they can even afford to send 2k+ bitcoins to no address and cover the 17k bitcoin that bitomat.pl lost...

Just because he could make money easily neither means he does it nor means he gives it away at every 2nd occasion. See Uncle Scrooge, if you will.

That's true, but I have my doubts the actual holdings are real.

We'll be getting closer to figuring this out at the end of the month when we interview Mark on bittalk.tv.

Wow.. Not a lot is happening on that site..
