A new year means a new beginning. People would expect that like in 2018 where market just fell till now it should not happen in 2019 and it will be better year and market will just keep on recovering and rising and cross 10k and then 15k etc. This will bring back all the old investors as well.

It's clearing and washing the weak hands before it goes to the next stage that it can reach. 2017 was full of pumps so as a side effect of that bull, we had received an opposite effect.

Forks for this year has been so intense, there's a hash war* which affected the market accordingly. Due to the pride war* it has made a lot of bitcoin into sell order just to transfer an additional market cap to show their strength to their rival.

Of course we can't really tell what 2019 will bring, but there are two important events that we need to monitor, (1) SEC's decision on Van Eck/Solid X Bitcoin ETF's application (2) Bakkt Bitcoin future offerings.

So if by chance we get those two going live in 2019, then I'm expecting a reversal, but it doesn't mean that we're going to hit another all-time-high right away. It might be catalyst that we all needed to get the market at least bounce back and hit 5 digits again that will culminate in the next block halving in 2020.

The market was more overwhelmed with more ICO's and the biggest fork Cryptocurrency ever had (Bitcoin-cash) and there were forks everywhere here and there all this was towards the end of 2017 and that was for sure more than what we have now! and the market was amazing back then, so it is definitely not related, I hope 2019 will bring some light to the current situation we have now, I think we might see a flip over in the first quarter in 2019.

Agreed. ICOs for the most part, is dead. The scammers that came with the wave and hype during late 2017 and early 2018 is finally settling down as ICOs are just not profitable as investors are increasingly more wary about ICOs. The fact that most of these ICOs, even the legit ones, promised way more than what they could actually deliver is, in my opinion, why we have the current situation in the ICO market. This coupled with the bear market that has been going on for the whole year meant that it was practically a double whammy effect especially on the ICO/startup space. As a result it is now harder than ever to make an ICO project with a shaky background. However, this is a good thing because only legit, well based ICOs are the only ones that can be successful in the current market.

As for the market value, this too I completely agree. Most "Experts" are usually just talking hot air as we have seen time and time again with their speculation of bitcoin dying for the 100th time. But there is hope as there are legit projects being developed as we speak so the future is without a doubt, a bright one even with this long bearish market that has been continuing for the whole year.

In my observation the downfall of bitcoin prices from $6.5k levels to current levels is triggered by bitcoin-SV fork announcement and switching over of miners. I mean to say the fork cryptocurrencies are impacting to the balance of bitcoin ecosystem by some means even they are not at all related to bitcoin ecosystem like just another altcoin. Probably due to heavy pump by few whales, miners are switching over which is leading for impacting on bitcoin markets too.

Let's s focus on the new year 2019, I believe there must be some big positive news in terms of bitcoin ETF and then some county to recognize bitcoins for legal transaction similar to Japan. These are just 2 examples which may happen in 2019 and then bitcoin may go back to its previous ATH levels. I am very much sure this 2019 will be more exciting than how it was in 2017.

Well we should always hope for the best. The current year 2018 has almost ended and we are near the start of 2019. I think 2019 will be same like 2017 when bitcoin rise to 20K. I have hopeful that next year we will see another all time high of bitcoin.

A lots of people change their way of learning from cryptocurrencies to other waste because of 2018 but still the remaining people had hope between them to the year of 2019 if it is good here then we can definitely continue this journey but it is not working then the future will be the decision maker.

There were only few good forks in 2018. Whenever there is some hard fork news of a coin, we see a lot of buying and pump in the coin. Seeing this many projects started to have their hard forks just because of the reason to get some attention and price increase in the coin. This is the reason we saw many unnecessary forks which had no value but was only for to get the price pump.

Even before this year a lot of experts gave their opinions on whether there will be a bull. Some of them has said that the bear might take bitcoin below $3000 for a short term and after that we will see a bull, while others are saying that we should give up hope about seeing any bull run this year either.

I don't with any of them anymore, it's funny to think of it that I'd believed most of them before and due to the bullish attitude that I've got. I believed that bitcoin will hit $40,000 by 2018. And we saw on what happened by 2018, instead of market ups we saw too many dumps and corrections.

I'm not saying that all of them are inaccurate, there will be some predictions that you can trust and believe but it depends on the market situation and they don't have control with it.

I think that I have to go with the flow, some people might think the current market is very bad and hurt them, but some people think that at the moment the market conditions are very good to be able to get profits, the prices of coins are very cheap now, I'm not too think of hardfork, smart contract, fundamentals and others. the crypto market is indeed like that, just like the market in the real world, when certain things are rushed by people, sometimes other items don't even want to buy.

years have changed, last year many people hoped that the market could be like 2017, but the fact is not as desired, the new year is a new hope for me. but I don't expect the market. I just hope I don't make the same mistakes as I did the previous year. whatever happens to the market, I will accept and try to get a gap to look for profit.
