Didn’t saw any BAKKT news anymore..... when should it launch?

I don't expect anything until after Congress passes an appropriations bill. The government shutdown pushed things back by 35 days, and it's only reopening for 3 weeks. I'm sure the CFTC has more pressing matters than this.

I'm guessing they pass a bill by early to mid February. Then CFTC hopefully opens up the public comment period by end of February, approval by early April.

Unfortunately I totally agree with you.

It was sure from the beginning it would get delayed like anything seems to be in the crypto world today, but I didn't expect it to be that challenging. Let's hope for end of 2Q '19

Likely the government shutdown is merely an excuse, and if they are going to launch, they would rather launch in a more hype-filled climate.

That makes sense too. The main market share of bakkt would be US investors and institutions, and those are probably one of the closest people to be affected by the shutdown. Hopefully this gets solved soon.

It's probably just a matter of time before they're offering OTC brokerage services too. That would be the natural progression.

Not proceeding while within the gov shutdown worries is a smart move seems like, makes me more bullish about the whole deal and smart management of its progress.   No need to take an umbrella out in a thunderstorm and hope for the best, smarter to fight another day with better weather.  Also that Fidelty news presuming its a successful move and seen to be one.    Also just more time helps anyone who predicted a higher price by thousands then where we are now, I think that continues to help the correction by time dynamic to occur and allow for a higher eventual price on Bakkt launch
Also as time goes on I think theres a better chance of dollar index lower [Im looking for a lower high to form, putting that in on the charts can change minds] which is good for BTC, especially if it becomes a noted trend thats helping the case for lots of venture type capital prices

Fair point, it’s likely the next bullrun will start slowly as we approach the next halving. It’s unlikely to be triggered by any single event. Those hoping for the SEC to approve an ETF will be disappointed too.

someone said the BAKKT site with launch dates was a false site or something....
and they never had a serious launch date ...?
whatever BAKKT isn't the main thing and don't care to much, it did was a nice thing to make a game around cause the launch could be anything, now i thing the higher price ranges increased their chances but still 2019 is long and we will not know what to happen

I'll bet there are thousands upon thousands of other delayed financial products and platforms right now that go completely unmentioned. It's only the desperation of us saps that fuels the desperation surrounding it.

This is how the real world operates. Overestimates are given. Problems emerge. People slack. Things fall through.

Crypto fans are childlike. They want everything NOOOOW and if they don't get it they'll hold their breath until they pass out.
